Immigrant detainees at a privately-run detention center in rural south Louisiana have waged a series of hunger strikes during the past four weeks to protest inhumane conditions and human rights violations at the jail.
This is the third hunger strike in the last months in different detention centers around the country. Detainees are protesting against the bad conditions in mostly government contracted detention centers
