Now out of office, Chirac recounts that the American leader appealed to their “common faith” (Christianity) and told him: “Gog and Magog are at work in the Middle East…. The biblical prophecies are being fulfilled…. This confrontation is willed by God, who wants to use this conflict to erase his people’s enemies before a New Age begins.”
WHAT the WHAT?! I don't know what's harder to believe: that he actually believed this, or that he thought it would work on Chirac.

Stop it. One idiot was enough. Too many idiots could really set off a big bang sending us all into the what did he call it? the real Apocalypse with real abombs. I caint believe that a man who is supposed to be a harvard graduate can come up with mythology as an excuse to invade a sovereign nation killing thousands of his own (?) people and millions of native Iraqi's. As I see it Chirac should have called in the men in white coats to carry him off to the funny farm and that goes for the present people who are continuing his ventures into funny land. Lets put a stop to this American arrogance and beligerence and start some civilized talk and action like getting this tribunal together and indict, try, and sentence and then get on with the world at hand. To continue spending billions of dollars over there when the people here at home are starving, going hungry, losing their homes and suffering from many maladies. If the government at hand caint handle these problems then its time for the people to call for a recall, impeachment or fire the entire government and get a new one.

Well why didn't he just say so. I didn't back the US invasion of another sovereign nation without provocation. But hey, if I knew that it was to save us from the biblical armegeddon, well, that's a different story.

Same story is being reported by the Guardian . . . looks like it may very well be a credible story. Honestly though, can't say I'm surprised.

Jesus kicks ass.
According to Republicangelicals, Jesus would be leading the charge of war, after war, after war, after war.

This is not new Chirac had already told about this long ago and Obama still wants to overlook the crimes of Bush et al. If Bush and company is permitted to get away with these crimes then why not release all hardened criminal, Murderers and thieves, including Bernie madoff. Obama may as well pardon Madoff and let his go home to his multi million dollar home. because his crime is puny compared to the deaths and crimes of Bush and party. If we are to live in crime then set up confessionals and release everyone after confessing. After all you have let Cheney roam while confessing and Obama wants to forget their crimes and move on, but where to? How are the fathers and mothers and wives supposed to feel knowing their family members were murdered and the killers are to be free for life. What a state of crime we live in. Perhaps a new name for the white house, The Black house of international crime.

Why wouldn't we believe it, he often said that he didn't pay much attention to advisers because he got his advice from a higher source.
Actually this makes as much sense as going after Osama Bin Laden by attacking iraq after 9/11. - 2 years ago

I posted this not because I wholeheartedly believe it, but because I have developed this mental impression of George Bush as this goofy child president, who would do something like this ha.
Nevertheless, even if Bush didn't invade Iraq to stop agents of the apocalypse, he had no problem sending Christian crusaders (Blackwater/XE) into Iraq to do America's dirty work.

If this was considered "top secret", then why are we learning of it? The article also states that Americans didn't know why we went to war in the first place. What? We all know why we went to war, (if you can remember back that far) but we don't know why we picked Iraq first and not Afghanistan.

we went to war in iraq because bush and co intentionally manipulated the reports of the intelligence community and or out and out lied to us.
this would be the answer to the question of WHY they were so hell bent on attacking iraq. because quite frankly it was (and still is) irrational.

this is the same man who opened and closed every presidential meeting with a prayer, who tried to break down the barriers and give federal funding to religious organizations, who basically almost won (cause we know he actually didn't) the elections because he was "born again".
yea, the source is dubious...but it's not unrealistic to believe. why else was he so hell bent on attacking a nation that not only was no eminent threat, not only was not related to terrorism, but also firmly held the iranian powers in check?

Fucking unreal.
If it wasn't from such a dubious source, it should be splashed fucking everywhere.
If this was really what this guy thought, it's an essential piece of the narrative to understand why we invaded.

Another appalling embarrassment on Bush's extensive record of embarrassments. This list includes wiping his hole with this country's economy and giving taxpayer's money to rich people so that their yachts don't run out of gas or champagne. Phhff.
