Typhoons in Asia

Two Pacific typhoons have rattled a handful of Asian countries. In Taiwan, as many as 600 people are missing, and at least 12 people were killed on Japan's western coast. Thirty-seven people had already been reported dead in the Philippines, Taiwan and China.

    • It reminds me of the earthquakes that were reported out in the ocean the other day. Hopefully they don't cause tsunamis, which would really be the last thing these people need right now. Not suggesting anyone ever needs a tsunami, but...yeah.

      Curious: what country/region is the footage coming from, or is it a mix?

      You do realize that a tsunami could just as easily hit the Untied states right? Just because there is an earthquake in the Pacific and there is a tsunami does not mean that it will hit Asia.

      Absolutely true. I don't mean to suggest I would prefer it to hit the states, I just think it would be exponentially disastrous for a region just devastated by a typhoon to be assaulted by a tsunami. Or nearby regions where survivors have taken refuge.
