"DETROIT -- In California, where all the people are trendy and all the cars are green--or so it seems--General Motors isn't much of a contender. Its pickups and SUVs sell fairly well, but when it comes to cars, Californians prefer import brands like Toyota and Honda over domestic ones like Chevrolet and Buick.
