Well said versasrev. Fresh water for the next age of mankind. However for right now it's an awesome change to watch and it will bring an increased horizontal pressure against the continents.
Sort of like watching grapes being squeezed... but the ground getting crinkled instead. Perhaps this is the winepress of God.

I've been to Antarctica and seen just how beautiful the continent is. When I hear about how humans are harming the last untouched place it makes me really depressed.

Actually, it is too many selfish greedy humans that are the problem. Not all of us disrespect the planet. I live every day within my means and without excess waste. I teach my child to do the same. I get involved in activism, sign petitions, write letters, blog, call my reps, call the White House, write letters to my community, take part in activist activities to call on better stewardship, and then some greedy selfish politician who cares more for his poll numbers than the moral imperative chucks all of that work out of the window because not enough of us did the same. Even if the population of this planet were halved, I can believe we would still have the same situation because the same people would be in charge and giving it all away to the highest bidder while the people continued watching celebrity news and reality TV shows.

If people truly care about this planet and maintaining its climate balance for our survival, then tell this administration not to approve this TAR sands pipeline into the U.S. Let's see how many can put their politics on the backburner and put the moral imperative first.

And yet, the current climate legislation in Congress does not adequately address Co2 and GHG targets in time to avoid a tipping point, and gets little to no discussion. And because it is the Obama administration, Democrats are now stalling and making excuses for this just like Republicans did with Bush, instead of looking beyond politics to tell them that this bill is inadequate and needs to be greatly strengthened to meet scientific standards.
And in reality, we will not make much if any progress on this even if this bill should be adequate regarding targets now as long as these politicians continue to support "clean" coal and other destructive environmental/ economic measures simply to not piss off their donors.
At this point we need moral awareness and a will by the population at large and political will that meets scientific standards working in tandem. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening at this point and truly believe glacier melt is already at the tipping point. So sad too. We have had so many chances and have blown every one of them, and it looks like we may blow this one too.

Whats interesting is that every response here does not adress a problem that has grown faster and larger than all the scientist and climatologist thought. There are still people out here saying this melting and the speed of its melting is a natural cycle. It is not. You people had better start e mailing your United States Senators and Congressmen and women to act of global climate change and clean fuel technology now, not tomorrow or next year but now. The point of no return from there will be no turning back what the forces of nature set in motion is a point that no person knows with certainty when it will be but what is for sure it will be coming faster than previously thought and without action starting now it will come very soon, within the next ten to fifteen years if one applies the speed in the acceleration of global melt to coinside with a point of no return. Einstien said it, for every action the is an equal and opposite reaction, well its right in front of you.

Hey Everybody, Tom's right! Nothing's bein done DUH. Tom, in 1989 I submitted to the Dept. of Energy a system for getting ONE-HALF the United States electricity from lightning storms as they REGULARLY cross from Texas-Louisiana over through the Gulf states to Florida, a veritable ENERGY CORRIDOR.
It is only one of many diverse energy and engine systems I've been blessed to design. I've watched nothing being done with all of them. Zero emission engines I have plenty of those. Car engines so efficient they do not need polluting catalytic converters. Sir, you need to understand that it is not a lack of technology that has you in this crucible and keeps you in it.
It's the people in control whoever & wherever they are and they follow the dictates of Satan as revealed in the Bible... and one thing they have done quite well is taken every Biblical plan laid out for Christ Jesus to do and molded it into a plan that all are geared to benefit them.
They're quite successful at it. I have an engine design I call "Millenial Dawn". I don't have fancy videos of it so people can't grasp it (having been trained on the best videos that totally do not require skill or imagination), but these people do. They understand exactly what I have shown how to make power w/out exploding matter, splitting matter or fusing matter together, that produces absolutely no pollutants.
I didn't come up with these engines all on my own. It cames time the Creator wanted to show just how great His cards were. I was just the guy sitting at the table doing his bidding over my shoulder. The Bible tells us "God never does a thing without first revealing the confidential matter". He allowed the people to watch Noah build an ark out on his lawn as a witness of what was coming soon.
That has happened again. The people in control under Satan's wing have done their utmost best to keep people from understanding the full import of my engines. People -taxpayers- might begin dawning on them that we really are standing at the dawn of a New Age. So they do everything they can to produce new energy sources in a new "American OPEC" to continue fleecing you.
They only give you the crippled stuff. It makes more jobs that way ($$$$$). The freedom they give is also slavery. Their new car engines for instance, so maybe they don't pump so much gas but they will pump electricity and that still causes world pollution levels to rise. My engines don't continue this thing of people standing and paying to pump fuel.
The solar electric systems they're putting into the martketplace? I have one that blows theirs away. And they know it. I posted exactly how to make it about two months ago on another blog but the guy I was writing to was one of their plants so that's why he didn't go running around telling people. His purpose was to find out what I knew so I told him and it joined my lightning system.
My tower stuffed with energy inventions is a tower built by God. The last thing they want anyone to know. They don't want you to have a belief in Him, only them standing in a holy place where they ought not. My engines are circular like the weather cycle. My car engine is designed as a mechanical heart that pumps fluid. It doesn't use a heavy crankshaft the fluid is the crankshaft. It is a temperature-balanced engine so it doesn't overheat, therefore the entire heavy cooling system ceases to exist (and antifreeze).
Millenial Dawn uses leverage to magnify the ball's circular orbit energy. Imagine a rail gun that fires into a curved sling pushing the sling that is also a lever to the 1st generator but the balls still have a high velocity coming back into the starting pit so they exhaust the remaining motion into a 2nd generator to run your home.
Jehovah shows His cards. My engines open up Space Travel to EVERY LIVING SOUL not just military-saluting gun toters. Paradise promised from the beginning of the Bible to Psalms 37 repeated by Jesus at Matthew 5:5 then Rev. 21:3 &4 is coming.

I guess they will have to have something like a dredge to gather it up. I hope they do. Why in the world do they dump garbage in the ocean? I'd like to see some reform in packaging. Everything we buy is over packaged.

There is a ship on the way to that island of plastic, Marilynn, and they should be giving us some info about it later this year. It is up to 30 feet thick and twice the size of Texas. They're talking about scooping the stuff up and bringing it back to recycle. I imagine the sorting process would be horrific, what with the rotted stuff floating along with the plastic.

Okay everyone what do you do with your plastic bags? Do you know there is a huge mass of plastic bags swirling around in the ocean. They say it is the size of Texas. Make sure your supermarket recycles them.

Do you carry a regular bag with you during the day? just buy two of the cloth bags and make room for them. I have at least one/two on my at all times, I have probably have five/six of them around the house too. They are great for everything, not just carrying groceries -- I take them camping, use them to tote around gear for music and yeah, no more plastic bags filling up my closet... gross.
Though, there's something to be said about the amount of energy it takes to create one cloth bag as opposed to plastic. really the only thing to do is stop buying food or anything else :)

You could have a plumber type place a tap on the line to get you the hot water in the sink also. You likely don't use both at the same time. Unless you're really really fast.
The heated water coming out of the hot water heater is still hot so what you're doing is heating the ground. It's possible the tap is already there, just closed. I hope you get it looked at.

We have something like that under the kitchen sink. It has no effect on the kitchen water but I can fill my huge spa bath tub with no problem? There is something wrong somewhere but I don't care I don't have to wait for bath water.

In that case you might want to get an inline "tankless water heater", place it where the hot water pipe enters the house, and then you can turn down the water heater element thermostat to 60 or 70 degrees. Heater would run a great deal less. Get the tankless large enough you could turn the water heater completely off til it got wintertime, then the two could augment each other. It just depends on how much hot water you use.

I've thought of that. It is in the garage well away from the kitchen and you have to waste a lot of water to get hot. Its an irritation. Thanks.

We as individuals need to start taking this seriously. There are many things we can be doing. If you have a gas hog car look into the cash for clunkers. Plant deciduas trees round your house. Shade in the summer can really cut your cooling bills. When they lose their leaves in the winter you will get some solar heat from the sun. If you haven't added more insulation in your attic, do it. We live in Texas and the weather is miserably hot. My electric bill was 153.00 last month. Before our trees got big our bill was around 400.00 in the summer months. It isn't hard to do or expensive.

I'm sorry man. I just you know after listening to them other fellas go on & on & on about IQ I just felt compelled to unleash. The prospect of having such a grand opportunity to SHOW OFF made me jump up and down. I couldn't contain myself, much like my belt.
It's a curse but somebody has ta carry it.
Actually, about a year or so ago maybe two now I was working one night on the computer when suddenly I wavered side to side in my seat, from east to west. The next morning I found out an earthquake had hit Reno Nevada. So I kind of figured that an Atlantic Ocean wave had hit the eastern seaboard hard enough to send a rolling ground wave through here in VA headed for Reno. So we have more to be concerned about than simple rising water levels. More water will mean even stronger slammings against the continents. That energy goes through the ground til it reaches a weak spot, a lot like how Van Damme hit the bricks.

What now? Whew. What now is when I decide to crank up the heat and show off my awesome IQ. Ready? Answer => the reason the cap ice is melting is because we fatties gained so much weight we depressed the continents, which pushed the caps up closer to the sun.

I'd rather go down fighting. We can do this, we just need our LEADERS to stop taking money from the oil and coal industries, and start acting in the interests of HUMANKIND!!! F*ck China. Let them do as they will. We will reap the rewards of renewable energy while they collapse in the ancient inefficient energy production. What happened to America the brave? Now we're in a childish "you first", "no you first" courage match with China. Come on! Show your balls America! Or are they not as big as we projected them to be? What's the worst that could happen if we change to renewable energy? Our air gets cleaner to breathe? Oh the horror. Better question... what's the worst that could happen if we don't do anything?
