, August 14, 2009, (Pal Telegraph) - "Israel is like a thief who wants to hide his loot. Instead of putting the stolen goods in one box, he moves it to 700 different boxes so it cannot be found." - Abu Arab Amin Muhammad Ali, a 74-year-old refugee from a destroyed Palestinian village in northern Israel, says he feels truly at peace only when he stands among his ancestors' graves.

The cemetery, surrounded on all sides by Jewish homes and farms, is a small time capsule, transporting Mr Muhammad Ali - known to everyone as Abu Arab - back to the days when this place was known by an Arabic name, Saffuriya, rather than its current Hebrew name, Tzipori.

Unlike most of the Palestinian refugees forced outside Israel's borders by the 1948 war that led to the creation of the Jewish state, Abu Arab and his family fled nearby, to a neighbourhood of Nazareth.

    • before 1948 thier were jews all throughout the region.
      after israel was created every territory in the defunct ottoman empire was divided up into the countries we now recognize(iran iraq so on and so on)
      they all founded thier new countries on the principle of arab nationalism wich was promoted (in the region not the world) as meaning muslums only.
      so in egypt syria lebanon iraq and iran there where vibrant jewish cities that were destroyed for no other reason then "arab nationalism".
      why are these countries permited this behavior but not israel.
      why does the destruction of jewish cities not recieve the call of war crimes only palastinian villages.
      why do we forget that massive displacements are happening to the people of the region not just jews or just muslums.
      what do you think happened when gaza was given back in 2005? that no jews were forcably moved from thier homes for the benefit of the palastinians?

    • The U.S. decided who would get what and made sure the Jews got "Israel" yet the Native Americans get what they did? Amazing. Screw the Zionists!
