Former Republican Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist gets a new Prius through ‘cash for clunkers’

There isn't a better commercial for Obama's cash for clunkers stimulus programs lifting us out of the Bush Recession (which began in Dec. 2007) than one of the highest ranking Republican duing the Bush Administration explaining how reality changed his mind.

    • Many people in the US are taking advantage of the government's cash for clunkers program. By trading in any old vehicle that qualifies under the cash for clunkers program terms you can qualify for the credit which is to be used to purchase any new fuel efficient vehicle. So far, the Ford Focus and the Toyota Corolla have been bought with Cash for Clunkers funds than any other models. The Honda Civic and Toyota Prius are right behind them. The Prius is a hybrid, and Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic both come in hybrid models. The most popular SUV has been the Ford Escape, a hybrid as well, and getting a hybrid would net you the largest cash advance possible from the program. Still, despite the Cash for Clunkers vouchers, you'll still have more than a paycheck loan to pay off – as the program doesn't cover used cars.
