I copied the following from a report about the rising number of accusations of sexual abuse during divorce cases.

"Even when no evidence is found to substantiate the allegation, family law courts typically "err on the side of caution" and award full custody to the mother. While national statistics reveal that the majority of all child sex abuse reports are legitimate, when such claims are made by a mother in the context of custody litigation, an estimated 77% of allegations are determined to be unfounded (Tong, 2002).A false child sex abuse allegation made during child custody litigation is a destructive legal stratagem."

Other sites also noted the frequency of accusations rising, and some note that the same accusers never mentioned sexual abuse until the time of divorce proceedings.

I know these events and others like them occur.

I'm interested to see some estimates on the frequency of these events.

I haven't run across any reliable data as of yet. I'm not really sure if anyone is in the market to do this kind of research though...

False allegations of domestic violence arise as a result of a number of factors:

1. VAWA uses the term, “includes,” in its definition of domestic violence: “The term
‘domestic violence’ includes felony or misdemeanor crimes of violence…”3 The allencompassing
word, “includes,” allows almost any other offense to be subsumed under
that definition.
2. Most states employ civil law definitions of domestic violence or partner abuse that
include vague terms such as “fear,” “afraid,” and “harassment,” terms that are usually left
undefined, and are difficult to refute.4
3. Many in the domestic violence industry advocate for even broader definitions of abuse, to
include possessiveness, being “concerned” about the relationship, or even seeking joint
child custody.

5. Few states have provisions in their civil domestic violence laws that penalize the making

6. In most jurisdictions, restraining orders are issued based on the lowest possible standard
of proof: the “preponderance of evidence” standard, which means the judge believes
there’s a slightly better than 50-50 chance that the accusations are true.
7. Most temporary restraining orders are issued on an ex parte basis, which means that the
person against whom the order is issued is given no notice that a hearing has been
scheduled and is not present to defend himself.

8. Judges usually do not require hard evidence of abuse in order to issue a restraining order;
indeed, judges are often urged to “err on the side of caution” in deciding whether to issue
a restraining order.6

False allegations are harmful for a number of reasons:

1. They seriously harm the reputation, employability, criminal record, financial status, and
parental rights of the falsely accused.
2. By influencing custody decisions, they force children into single-parent households and
place them at greater risk of a broad range of social pathologies.
3. They can trigger violations in due process and undermine public confidence in the justice
system and the rule of law.
4. They overload the system with minor and trivial cases, making it harder for true victims
to get the services they need.
5. In the long term, they make persons less willing to believe the accounts of true victims.

Yes there are some SOB dads as well as SOB mom's

I was a stay at home dad who was raising the children(two) since birth.
On Sept,17,2002,living in Fl.,I came from the bathroom at aprox. 10.30pm clad in a bathing suit, open shirt and barefoot as I turned the corner to enter the family room,
I had guns pointed at me telling me to drop my gun,,I looked at amazement because I had no gun and he and the rest of the cops could clearly see I did not.They proceeded to cuff me in front of the children(mom was outside.Both children sceamed out,"leave daddy alone he has done nothing,we seen mom go upstairs and hurt herself and call you police."

The cops told them to shut up...As the cops lead me thru the front door,already cuffed both children witnessed them smash my face and head into the brick wall foyer(On Oct.11,2002 i had an MRI taken they had ruptured my neck discs c-1 thru c-7,which has left my left arm all the way to the fingers almost inoperable as to movement,I had already been since 1993 lower totally spinal disabled).The mom(x) had called in to the cops and said she was in fear for her life,Yet she left the children inside with me as she was outside smoking a cigarette and laughing as they took me away.
To shorten this,she tried to have me arrested 10 more times under further false allegations,i.e.,stalking,threats,going to the children school and being physically removed by the police ,all false allegations, to the point of me spending $118,000.00 and to no resolve. I took over my own case,recuse 3 judges had fired 5 atty's and finally on Nov.28,2006,I got the charges dismissed.
Because of the actions taken against me I have not seen my children since Aug.4,2004,they are political prisoners due to bias of the court and Fl. DCF.
On July 23,2004 two hospitals had to call the Fl. rape team on the mother,due to what she had done to daughter, that morning to our 7 yr old daughter.
I was told to take custody of the children by the Rape Team Investigator on July 24,2004 who stated,to DCF,,the hospital doctors et.al."dad take the children they will be safe with you."
That did not sit well with the mom, she has political connections in D.C. and more false abuse charges were filed on me,as mentioned above.DCF and the court sided with the mom(x) because of the political connections and I was out and have been since,Aug.4,2004.They took all I owned to the sum of $1.46 million dollars,I had owned several business' and also worked full time at another job at the airport.

Since 2002 I have come upon hundreds ,if not almost a thousand of simm stories like mine as well as Dean Tong info in the video.

Yes there are men that are real SOBs and do these things but women most of the time use false info to get what they want,and I know plenty of them. real witches.
I myself could not do that to my husband of 30 years, He is a great DAD. He would die for his adult children. he has stayed with me through thick and thin. I have a good one! Thank who ever.

This case is not unique, false molestation, rape or domestic violence is becoming a weapon of choice by women during the divorce. A woman simply makes a statement to police that she is in fear, or he molested their child or even raped her and the following will quickly occur. The husband will be served with a protection order and will be forced to move out of his house, will not be allowed to see his children, likely will loose his job, his name will be all over the local media, his fulltime job will be proving his innocence and hopefully he can afford extensive legal expenses, his name will forever be associated with the charges against him even if he is lucky and can prove his innocence. The woman on the other hand gains the marital home, all marital assets, custody of the children, child support, cash support from women’s organizations, a lot of attention from the community and frequently extremely desirable by the accuser looking for endless attention. Unlike in the murder case, the jury is instructed in rape or molestation case that law DOES NOT require ANY physical evidence to find a man guilty. There are very powerful women organizations that receive millions of dollars of federal funds who have lobbyists, with support of media, judges, prosecutors... It is extremely profitable industry, the more victims the more federal funds. The media does not report cases like this in fear of pressure from numerous women organizations with the charges of being anti-women. There are many cases like this one with the number of falsely accused, imprisoned men, and victimized children are rapidly growing.

I know soooo many women that do shit like this. calling rape, molestation ect. They get pregnant on purpose to trap men WE ARE NOT REALLY THE WEAKER SEX!
Yes there are asshole men but women have been put themselves as weak, alot of women I have ment are coniving and very bitter. We can't always blame the men.

This does happen , yet I do not know anyone personally , that it has happened to . Yet Almost every female I know has had a perp . Personally I have not found this to be common , where the man is the victim . At least not where I live . I was just in a YWCA , legal clinic . One woman was on crutches , another had makeup caked onto her face , which was swollen . There were 10 women all together that day . All fearful . They had no attorney . Here Injuries are not considered valid with a photo , or some one's word or a call to cps . You need a doctor to confirm , a police report . Only someone ruthless , without an ounce of self respect would lie about such a thing .

The child did not complain to authorities, so that means the the mother claimed that the child was not old enough to have been able to complain. So, therefore, this means that the mother could have received the same divorce without hurting her child.
In today's news there was a woman who slandered her exhusband's new wife's daughter because she was angry with the new wife. This Dean Tong case also shows anger taken out on the innocent while the dumb perp thinks she is hurting only one person...the one she hates.
We all see however, that she hurt an innocent person, in her blind rush to hurt someone else.
DeanTong's ex-wife is now the object of ridicule and it is interesting that the tables have turned. Now, she looks like the angry, hateful, vengeful
mother who sacrificed her daughter's mind to get back at her husband. What a fool she is, and how very evil she is. I'm so glad for Mr.Tong that he doesn't have to live with that piece of dirt anymore.

Domestic Violence and Sex crime laws encourage false accusations and destroying lives of falsely accused and the children. The accuser on the other hand does not get any punishment for bringing up false charges. Domestic Violence, Rape, and Molestation are easy to prosecute but nearly impossible to prove innocence. Unlike in a murder case, for example, DV, rape, molestation do not require ANY evidence, the accused statement all it takes. The legal cost easily runs $100,000 - $300,000 to fight such injustice. But if you can not afford a high priced attorneys and investigators the accused has no chance proving his innocence. The laws must change.

How can a mother do that to her children? She has to love herself more than anything else to do so?
Not only does that immediate family suffer but false accusations like these cause irreparable damage in the entire family that continues on for generations following.
The family is stigmatized and this info can be used against other family members down the line.
One person alone starts a horrible lie that lives forever.
Her poor children.
