Thousands to Participate in Gaza Freedom March to Breach Israels Illegal Blockade

President Obama has asked Israel to make some changes that have been largely ignored. President Jimmy Carter said, "The blockade of Gaza has brought death, destruction, pain and suffering to the people there. The International community must not ignore their cries for help." and "...the people of Gaza are being treated "like animals," and has called for "ending of the siege of Gaza" that is depriving "one and a half million people of the necessities of life."

One of the world's leading authorities on Gaza, Sara Roy of Harvard University, has said that the consequence of the siege "is undeniably one of mass suffering, created largely by Israel, but with the active complicity of the international community, especially the U.S. and European Union."

The law is clear. The conscience of humankind is shocked.

Yet, the siege of Gaza continues.

The people of Gaza have exhorted the international community to move beyond words of condemnation.

It is time for us to take action!

The Long March toward Freedom

To mark the anniversary of Israel's bloody 22-day assault on Gaza the International Coalition to End the Illegal Siege of Gaza will dispatch contingents from around the world to Gaza.

On January 1, 2010 we will march alongside the people of Gaza in a nonviolent demonstration that breaches the illegal blockade.

The march is inspired by decades of nonviolent Palestinian resistance from the mass popular uprising of the first intifada to the West Bank villagers currently resisting the land grab of Israel's annexationist wall.

It draws inspiration from the international volunteers who have stood by Palestinian farmers harvesting their crops, from the crews on the vessels who have challenged the Gaza blockade by sea, and from the drivers of the convoys who have delivered humanitarian aid to Gaza.

It draws inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi.

Gandhi called his movement Satyagraha-Hold on to the truth. We hold on to the truth that Israel's siege of Gaza is illegal and inhuman.

Gandhi said that nonviolence requires more courage and is more effective than violence. We want to prove the truth of Gandhi's beliefs with our deeds.

We are not afraid, we won't turn back, we won't let Gaza die.

Gandhi said that the purpose of nonviolent action is to "quicken" the conscience of humankind. We want to bring humankind not just to deplore Israeli brutality but actively to stop it.

Those of us residing in the United States also draw inspiration from our Civil Rights Movement.

If Israel devalues Palestinian life then-just as northern whites went down South during Freedom Summer-we must both interpose our bodies to shield Palestinians from Israeli brutality and bear personal witness to the inhumanity that Palestinians daily confront.

If Israel defies international law then-just as federal marshals were sent in to enforce the law of the land against racist southern sheriffs-we must send nonviolent marshals from around the world to enforce the law of the international community in Gaza.

We take no sides in internal Palestinian politics. We side only with international law and basic human decency.

We conceive this march as yet another link in the chain of nonviolent resistance to Israel's flagrant disregard of international law.

The siege is illegal.

The wall is illegal.

The settlements and house demolitions are illegal.

The closures and curfews are illegal.

The roadblocks and checkpoints are illegal.

The detention and torture are illegal.

The truth is that if international law were enforced the occupation would be unsustainable.

The march can only succeed if it arouses the conscience of humanity.

If we join ranks with the people of Gaza in the march for freedom, and millions more around the world watch the march on the internet, we can breach the siege without a drop of blood being shed.

If the whole world is watching, Israel can't stop us.

Please join us.

    • The petition claims Israel persistently violates international law and carries out "illegal" discriminatory policies comparable to apartheid in South Africa.

The text fails to note that about 20 percent of Israel's population consists of Arabs who have democratic rights as citizens, including full representation in the Knesset. Indeed, Arabs living in Israel have more fundamental rights than Arabs living anywhere else in the Middle East.

The Palestinian Authority, meanwhile, institutionally discriminates against Christians and Jews. Israel was required to evacuate all Jews from the Gaza Strip before handing the territory over to the Palestinians. Any future Palestinian state will be Jew-free.

The petition does not once mention Palestinian terrorism.

The text also claims all "forms of international intervention and peace-making have until now failed to convince or force Israel to comply with humanitarian law." The petition does not mention that Israel multiple times offered the Palestinians a state in the Gaza Strip, West Bank and eastern sections of Jerusalem only to have the Palestinians turn down the gesture without a counter offer. After such an offer during U.S.-brokered talks ending in September 2000, for example, the PA initiated a terrorist intifada that killed 1,078 Israelis.

This is nothing but institutionalizing pure Jew hatred. Everything these nazi wannabes contend is a lie. The Israelis provide food, medicine, and humanitarian aid for their executioners in Gaza. While these international nazis are writing the final solution.

Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn are there, carrying Hitler's torch.....Obama's peeps. Goebbels redux. Gaza "freedom" march. Gaza is free. Israel unilaterally disengaged -- wrongly, I might add. Israel should have thrown all of the jihadists out, just like the Muslim world has done to the Jews in Islamic countries for the past 1,400 years (if they don't slaughter them, that is). All Muslims hostile toIsrael should be thrown out of Israel. The Islamic world is judenrein. Right? Let's take a page from Islam, shall we?

And the South African genocidists' involvement is particularly galling. They have routed their own country. The South African government is corrupt, racist, and born from communist ideals. The Boer farmers in South Africa are on Genocide Watch.org Alert. Further, the South African infrastructure is collapsing, electricity is failing constantly, hospitals are wrecked.
      More here:
There is a genocide of Boers taking place in South Africa. Particularly the Boer Farmers-it is called Plaas Moorde. In the US, no one says anything about this genocide of between 2,000-3,000 farmers murders in SA because, due to the racial issues, it is politically incorrect to call attention to the deaths of these human beings. And we have been taught to believe that the ANC and Nelson Mandela are the "good guys". The western media has made all whites inSouth Africa out to be racist monsters. This is simply not the case and I would remind people that one of the steps to genocide is to dehumanize the target -- dehumanize the Boer. Furthermore, I do not know how a baby could be guilty of being a racist monster. Babies have been murdered and set on fire in farm attacks

    • unprovoked siege right
the walls exist for no security purpose?
      egypt doesnt share a border?
why doesnt hamas lay down thier weapons in a plea for peace in the interest of its people?
why if its genocide is the west bank not suffering this too?
why do iranian made katusha rockets get into gaza with greater frequency than food or medicine?
why is the tragedy of the children of sderot and ashdod not as important?
why did israel give them gaza in 2005 if they want to kill them all by taking away resources?
why does israel actively protect the dome of the rock instead of building thier temple if they want to erradicate thier culture?
why does israel garuntee rights to all its citizens including the one million muslums if they want to destroy them?
(jordan just revoked the citizenship of its palastinian population so israel is treating the palastinians better then fellow muslums so how are the israelis denying that culture comparitively)

    • This interesting because of the length of time it has been operating. It is an unfathomable fact that a person will live with extreme and unbearable circumstances if they believe there's no hope of escape. But they all still live through it, and now, with hope of the international community, it can end. Yet it does not. Are we pacifying ourselves to believe in our leaders? Or are we going to stop our excuses, and believe in action?

    • I can't stop crying this is sick! I am very sorry for those human beings,YES human beings. How dare they treat people like that. White Phosorus is chemical warfare. Israel will not be able to make the people of Palestine extinct like it seems they want. Sooner or later it will all fall back on them. If not with the help of the USA then maybe UAE and all the Arabs Countrys that line Israel.
