Athens Battles Huge Wildfires

Greek fire crews have been working for four days to beat back wildfires that burned near the country's capital of Athens, with some of the fires just a few miles from the heart of the city.

    • That is a lot of resources and a sad situation. Hopefully their efforts can save some homes but these fires are not going to be stopped by people. When they get like this mother nature has to step in with some cool nights, rain, and no wind.

    • fire is usually a cleansing agent for the environment. i don't think this is what athens had in mind. glad to see international support. bet folks in california are cringing at the sight.
