Sen. Ted Kennedy did a great deal for the GLBT community. He was one of the few that actually stood for all Americans.
"He was known as the "liberal lion of the senate." and fought for a variety of GLBT equality issues. He voted against the Defense of Marriage Act and helped pass the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act. He also also introduced the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. He has been a staunch advocate of health care reform."
