As a new fear-mongering tactic, GOP hints Dems would deny Republicans health care

A questionnaire accompanying the appeal says the government could check voting registration records, "prompting fears that GOP voters might be discriminated against for medical treatment in a Democrat-imposed health care rationing system."
It asks, "Does this possibility concern you?"
Katie Wright, a spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee, said the question was "inartfully worded."
But she said people should worry because government officials would have access to personal financial and medical data.
"The RNC doesn't try to scare people," said Wright. "We're just trying to get the facts out on health care. And that's what we do every day."
Jon Vogel, executive director of the Democratic House campaign organization, called the GOP letter "shameless fear-mongering."
In a fundraising e-mail of his own seeking to raise $100,000 by Aug. 31, Vogel wrote the Republican accusation was "just a preview of the falsehoods, fabrications and outright lies Republicans will be pushing when Congress returns in September."
The allegation is the latest instance in which some critics of the health care effort have made inflammatory unfounded claims — such as conservatives who claimed the legislation would create "death panels" that they said could lead to euthanizing elderly people.

fact is. there is no plan yet.
But if what i read here is somewhat close to true.
A goverment run health care plan, where premiums will be paid...
So, it would be a nation wide plan... Good in all 50 states?
Save tax payer money... and just remove restrictions on current insurance companies. force them to allow nation wide coverage..
More companies to choose from would surely force down the prices of coverage.
might even help those with "pre-existing conditions" be able to get coverage.
1) no tax payer money would be used to enact a plan
2) prices would be more affordable
3) And... no added taxes out of my pocket - 2 years ago

I know WakUpPeople, it's got to be done on purpose they really can't be that dense. They are just here to keep the lie going. From this point on when someone mentions it has free health care I'm just going to say they are nothing but liars probably working for the right wing spreading rumors.

I'm tired of all the schmucks that think this is going to be free health care for everyone. Anyone who participates in the public option will pay premiums just like with private insurers except they will be cheaper because it is not for profit.

It's not free health care, it's a government run insurance option of which you can participate or not. Why do you guys like to keep this lie going. Pay attention we may finally get the profit out of health care insurance. What's wrong with that. I swear you guys are like little kids, I'm not going to eat that good food so I just yell and have a tantrum.

You can hate Republicans if you want but you have to admit they understand the American psyche far better than the dems do.
Want something done in america? Then lie, mislead and fear monger. Americans do not care about facts and even when they are shown clear evidence that they have been lied to and misled they will be too lazy and apathetic to actually do anything about it.
If the Dems are serious about getting this healthcare thing accomplished they need to take an honest look at who americans are, come up with cheap slogans and say whatever needs to be said to get it done.
I know that sounds harsh but take a realistic look at how americans have behaved for the last decade and then tell me I'm wrong.

You are absolutely right. I forgot about Obama. He used slogans like "Yes we can" and "Change".
Those are not cheap at all....right?
Amazing how he brought Bush to justice, closed gitmo, ended illegal wiretapping, restored habeous corpus, provided transparency in government, got rid of lobbyists in office. Among a few.
He was an obviously superior choice over mccain but far from what america needs.
Careful about patting yourself on the back for making the easy choice. You end up looking silly.
And Obama himself asked the public to hold him to his promises. He knows what the Republicans know, the American people (collectively) are too lazy to do a damb thing without a cheap slogan and some convenient lies to rally behind.
I'm not saying he hasn't done any good and he is likely better than Mccain would have been but he got into office by out-republicaning the republicans.
His cheap slogans were better, his lies more believable and his fear mongering more accurate.
He scared us all with "more of the same" that was promised with the repubs. Well he has brought more of the same and just as I said, america doesn't do a damb thing.

A thought being forwarded in emails on the net. And how much truth is in it? Unfortunately ALL of it!
From a retired medical professional :
Let me get this straight. Obama's health care plan will be written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it, signed by a president who smokes, funded by a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that is nearly broke. What could possibly go wrong? - 2 years ago

Sounds like a good idea. First we should send all Republicans to a reeducation/FEMA camp.
Those who fail or refuse to sign a loyalty oath to Obama and the progressive cause should be denied health care.

This is beyond disturbing. I wish I could say I was shocked that the GOP thought this one up, but I'm not. This health care reform is an effort to expand our definition of human rights. It is NOT a political tool for killing off people with differing viewpoints. That is like saying the civil rights movement was a ruse to enslave white people.
