Female teacher allegedly paid student for sex

Melissa Ann Andreini, 28-year-old special education teacher formerly at Helper Junior High School has been arrested and charged this week with engaging in sex with a 15-year-old male student. He is a ninth-grader in her school, but not one of her special education students.

Andreini faces three counts of third-degree felony unlawful sexual activity with a minor. Moreover, she allegedly paid her victim somewhere around $1500.

The victim told police and a Utah Division of Child and Family Services worker that Andreini would bring coffee to school for him and his friends two or three times a week. They would go by her classroom before school to get the drinks. He also told police that Andreini paid him money after having sex with him in her home on at least three different occasions in June 2009. She is alleged to have given him approximately $500 on each occasion.

Court documents allege she paid him between $1,400 and $1,500 after having sex with him. It does not specify whether she was paying him for sex or paying him to keep quiet about having sex with her.

    • $1,500 sounds like hush money to me.
      The double standard here is unfair, the penalty should be the same as a male teacher who violates trust. Then again I wasn't innocent at 15, young and impressionable but fully capable of making my own decisions.
      Teachers need to stop seducing their students it is creepy and desperate. Wait a least until they are 18 and not taught by you anymore. Geez.

    • And the "evidence" is that the teacher admitted to the sex to the boy's mother.....??? Doubtful .....but even if true the worst offense you have here in mormonland is an attractive cougar doing some charity work to help the teenager clean up his acne...

    • Wait so this kid had sex with his teacher after hanging out with her after school for so long on top of that she pays him a good chunk of change after sleeping with her 3 times and tells on her? That's like every teenage boy's dream. This kid doesn't seem like a victim more like a punk kid that took advantage of his teacher.

    • Sounds like BS to me. Why so much money? It's not logical. I'd like to see a little proof that the money actually exists and came from her. There are ways for a junior high school student to make that kind of money these days but they generally involve selling drugs. "my teacher molested me or money" is a much better sounding excuse to your parents for your new xbox than "I sell meth to other 7th graders"

      It is very common problem nowadays for a woman to falsely accuse a man of rape and other sex crimes. There is absolutely no punishment for false accusations. Innocent men are frequently unable to prove their innocence. False accusations should be prosecuted to discourage others. Unfortunately our society has dual judicial system, one for men and another one for women.

      No, it is absolutely NOT common for women--or men--to falsely report rape. In fact, the majority of rapes go unreported because women are too ashamed to come forward, or they don't want to have the entire personal lives exposed during the course of a trial (if it even gets that far. Most cases don't.)

      Furthermore it's worth noting that all rape victims are not women, and all rapists are not men.

      sgwhites, I think you misunderstood me. Let me clarify my comment.

      It is a growing problem of false rape accusations by women and I did not say that majority of women enjoy falsely reporting rape.

      I do agree with you completely that both man and women fall victims of rape but unfortunately common public perception of women as victims and men as perpetrator. As a result of this perception bad laws are put in place destroying lives of innocent victims of false allegations. When a woman accused her classmate of rape because she wanted to skip school that day, or when a woman accuses her husband of rape or a child molestation because she wants a full custody of their children, marital home and assets during their divorce, or a woman wants her husband "out of the picture", or when innocent man served 4 of his 20 year sentence because his date needed excuse for stranding her friends without a ride. None of these women where prosecuted for false rape charges. This must change!

      No I think she understood you. False rape accusation in both directions really is pretty rare. Perhaps you didn't mean to make it sound as common as you did.

      I wouldn't even be considering it except for the weird money thing.

      generally includes selling drugs, what??? both my High school boys work they have for a long time. One even works for the School cleaning.......and they actually make money.
