Coverage under Obamacare will require an implantable microchip?

There's a pretty starling thing in the bill that 95% of Americans won't like.
The Obama Health care bill under Class II (Paragraph 1, Section B) specifically includes ‘‘(ii) a class II device that is implantable." Then on page 1004 it describes what the term "data" means in paragraph 1, section B:
14 ‘‘(B) In this paragraph, the term ‘data’ refers to in15
formation respecting a device described in paragraph (1),
16 including claims data, patient survey data, standardized
17 analytic files that allow for the pooling and analysis of
18 data from disparate data environments, electronic health
19 records, and any other data deemed appropriate by the
20 Secretary"
What exactly is a class II device that is implantable? Lets see...
Approved by the FDA, a class II implantable device is a "implantable radiofrequency
transponder system for patient identification and health information." The purpose of a class II device is to collect data in medical patients such as "claims data, patient survey data, standardized analytic files that allow for the pooling and analysis of data from disparate data environments, electronic health records, and any other data deemed appropriate by the Secretary."
This sort of device would be implanted in the majority of people who opt to become covered by the public health care option. With the reform of the private insurance companies, who charge outrageous rates, many people will switch their coverage to a more affordable insurance plan. This means the number of people who choose the public option will increase. This also means the number of people chipped will be plentiful as well. The adults who choose to have a chip implanted are the lucky (yes, lucky) ones in this case. Children who are "born in the United States who at the time of birth is not otherwise covered under acceptable coverage" will be qualified and placed into the CHIP or Children's Health Insurance Program (what a convenient name). With a name like CHIP it would seem consistent to have the chip implanted into a child. Children conceived by parents who are already covered under the public option will more than likely be implanted with a chip by the consent of the parent. Eventually everyone will be implanted with a chip. And with the price and coverage of the public option being so competitive with the private companies, the private company may not survive.
So will everyone be covered by the public option eventually??????
And does that mean everyone will be chipped?????

What ever happened to my body my right libs? Fuck the microchip, it probably causes cancer. I don't have any desire to let liberals know anything about me. Fuck this "no needing to hide" bullshit. Once your medical information is electronic, fuckers from the government can get a hold of it whenever they want - even when its not ethical to do so. Think of it like this liberals, I am an evil conservative named Nixon, I noticed Obama used cocaine based on his medical record. Now he is marked for life. Some stuff does not need to be known by everyone assholes.
I say fuck Obama, fuck liberals and fuck anybody who wants to implant stuff in me in order to receive coverage. How about let me choose whether or not I feel like having a chip inside and let me decide if the benefits are worth the sacrifice. Maybe I don't want doctors to just base their diagnosis off of previous doctors, maybe I don't want my information in a data bank?
Fuck going green, only retards think using paper will destroy the Earth. I say incinerate all oil and paper - I bet the world will be better with more CO2. Plants grow larger when the atmosphere has an increased percentage of CO2. In theory there are more warm nice days and it would be awesome if more hurricanes would kill off a few more idiots. If only a cat 5 could hit New York, or in some weird way hit California. Too bad the Earth is not like that.0
Fuck universal health care, I hope all of you liberals die. I hope you try to throw me in jail for not following a liberal law. I want to see you try. I would love it if you came and protested at my house, I would mace all of you with 5% formic acid and Indian pepper extract concentrated to 10%. Since liberals don't carry guns they can't do shit. I will have microwave based cellphone jammers up so they can't call the cops, until it is too late for those stupid fucks.

I'm not "100% for Obama," but this purported requirement for implantable chips is not accurate.
There IS a reference to "implantable devices" in H.R 3200, but it's in the context of FDA and a registry for certain Class II and Class III medical devices, including implantable ones.
FDA classifies all medical devices - including things as safe as toothbrushes to those as risky as X-ray machines and artificial hearts - into one of three classes - I, II or III - based on potential risk. Classes II and III include those devices that are more risky. FDA requires more data for these to obtain authorization to market, and requires more follow-up data after they're sold ("post-market data") to ensure they really are safe.
This type of registry helps with recalls and notification of patients in the event a problem is found to exist. This type of registry also is not new - if you've heard about the recent murder of Jasmine Fiore and how they identified her remains through her breast implants, you've learned that a registry of breast implants, an implantable Class III medical device - already exists.
-------------
The full text of H.R. 3200 can be found at http://www.thomas.gov/. Search for "implantable" or scroll to Subtitle C, Sec. 2521(a)(1)(B) -" National Medical Device Registry
(g)(1) The Secretary shall establish a national medical device registry (in this subsection referred to as the `registry') to facilitate analysis of postmarket safety and outcomes data on each device that--
(A) is or has been used in or on a patient; and
(B) is--
(i) a class III device; or
(ii) a class II device that is implantable, life-supporting, or life-sustaining."

"So let's just cut to the chase and say that this is: Complete. Utter. Bullshit."
"This is total bullshit."
These responses from locutus and lucid stone are so frightening typical of the lefts' and supporters of Obamacares.
Why is it bullshit, because they say so. How do they know it's bullshit, because the Huffington Post and Barack Obama say it is.
Critics point to specific provisions of the actual legislation, supports deny it's there despite never actually looking to see if it is or not.
Critics point out that sections that prohibit insurers from enrolling new customers and disallowing ESIRs from operating after specified dates and explain how that ends private insurance for all but the wealthiest - supporters respond nu-ah, no it doesn't.
Critics point out the sections that establish regional and national boards appointed by the executive branch that are mandated to apply specific cost benefit/matrices to all procedures and authorized to deny care based on age, chronic conditions and other criteria - supporters respond nu-ah, no it doesn't.
Of course the bill is online and we can all read it and see that it does in fact end private insurance over a period of several years, there are government panels charged with deciding who gets the care they need to live and who doesn't and that this text is most definitely part of the bill...
http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h3200/text

Two things strike me reading the responses here: first, the willingness to accept and even excuse the possible inclusion of such a grievous assault on personal privacy and liberty by some of the same people who shrieked at the possibility of cell phone calls to known terrorists overseas being monitored is shocking to say the least. The shear hypocrisy and intellectual bankruptcy of the left is mind boggling and appears to have no bounds.
Second for a bunch that routinely asserts certainty of their own intelligence, that you can't figure this out is shameful.
Yes this text is in the current bill under section: 2521. NATIONAL MEDICAL DEVICE REGISTRY - if you tried to find it on page 1004, what more can I say than you're just stupid and should do the world a favor and stop breathing now.
Read it for youself.
http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h3200/text
The pertinent section of the bill appears to set up a registry and collection of data for devices that are implanted in patients (ie pace makers, insulin pumps etc) to track their safety and effectiveness.
Could it be used to mandate implanting of microchips? Well that's the "glorious" thing about legislation such as this; it's really up to who's interpreting to decide that.

So I looked at the title of the article, and I thought wow, that is just blatent BS. I looked at the number of posts and thought, wow look how many people are calling BS on the OP. Then I read the posts... really? This many people actually believe this kind of crap? I mean, it's not even sort of close to true. The guy even tells you where to look to dissprove it right in the article.
Alright, I know people can be slightly stupid. I mean, a good amount of people in this world actually still believe word for word in a book that's been mistranslated for centuries (let alone that the premise itself is pretty much the stuff of fairy tales). But at least the religiously handicapped just yell and scream once and a while. They're annoying, but they don't hurt anybody. This guy and the people who buy into what he's selling, are actually going to ruin a legitimate debate on a failling health care system. In essence the OP is actually killing someone by posting this drivel. How's that weigh on your conscience?

If you check HR3200, it is in a section titled "Subtitle C—National Medical Device Registry". It is on pages 1000-1007. I have NOT read the pages yet and cannot make an informed comment, but posted it so others can check it for themselves. A cursury examination seems to indicate it is about registering the devices and the results of the use of said devices. It appears to be about safety and not information gathering, but as I said I have not finished reading it.

Folks, we all ready have these devices and there is all ready a national registry. These devices are called "Pacemakers" and "Holter Monitors". Some are implanted, some attach to the outside of your body. They hold medical data, and YES, medical records.
As of now, there are mandatory requirements for hospitals and heart clinics to send this information to a registry - to get reimbursed for medicare. This is not a requirement for private insurance, yet.
If you want to educate yourself (and not be a paranoid, disillusioned, idiot) you can read more from these links:
http://www.acc.org/about/overview/overview.htm

Okay here is what H.R.3200 - America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 actually says p1001-1002 (because p1001 ends at line 25).
p1001 under Subtitle C—National Medical Device Registry
The Secretary shall establish a national medical device registry (in this subsection referred to as the
23 ‘registry’) to facilitate analysis of postmarket safety and
24 outcomes data on each device that—
25 ‘‘(A) is or has been used in or on a patient; and
p1002
1 ‘‘(B) is—
2 ‘‘(i) a class III device; or
3 ‘‘(ii) a class II device that is implantable,
4 life-supporting, or life-sustaining.THERE ARE CURRENT MEDICAL DEVICES THAT ARE IMPLANTABLE! eg. a pacemaker
The section quoted is simply talking about creating a registry to keep track of "class II device that is implantable,
4 life-supporting, or life-sustaining."http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medical_device
Class II: General Controls with Special ControlsClass II devices are those for which general controls alone are insufficient to assure safety and effectiveness, and additional existing methods are available to provide such assurances. Therefore, Class II devices are also subject to special controls in addition to the general controls of Class I devices. Special controls may include special labeling requirements, mandatory performance standards, and postmarket surveillance.Devices in Class II are held to a higher level of assurance than Class I devices that they will perform as indicated and will not cause injury or harm to patient or user. Devices in this class are typically non-invasive and include x-ray machines, PACS, powered wheelchairs, infusion pumps, surgical drapes, surgical needles and suture material, acupuncture needles.

Can't they just put this info on your DL and then someone can just scan it in? Why does it have to be a 'chip'?
Use the DL for this stuff...I also don't understand why they can't just ask for a DL to use as a credit card to see if you're of age to drink. Fabrication of an ID is easily done, but if it has to be scanned to be acceptable..well...that makes it difficult to fabricate.

Wow! This takes the whole "Big Brother" scenario a little too far for me. I like the idea of having affordable healthcare but I don't like the idea of the government placing a RFID Chip under my skin because they want to streamline the information highway. This seems to be a violation of my privacy. If this chip holds private information who's to say that other persons such as hackers or identity thieves wouldn't be able to access this private data. The government has already put RFID chips into our passports and ID cards. They don't need to putting them under my skin too.

I heard that Obama-Care will require everyone to abort babies that aren't genetically predisposed to be democrats.
Some guy at a town hall meeting said so after he told the representative to keep his government hands off of medicare!
It must be true!

Implanted microchip, huh?
And we all feign hatred and reluctance for this, huh?
We're all soooo scared of Big Brother that we; constantly dole out personal information on the web, use countless wireless electronics, are satellite subscribers, use GPS, have extensive search histories, update status' & moods and tell everybody everything.
Don't get me wrong,... an implantable chip is a nutso idea,... but we're all already on the grid,... over & over & over again. So let that not be your fear of the forthcoming chip, Bobbbbbb!
Besides,... a foil hat will keep the Illuminatti, the death counselors and the voices from finding you. - 2 years ago

Everyone is scared that everything is going to go into a chip, and everyone is going to have to be subservient to the government or they turn the chip off and you can't live your life anymore...
Don't people have families and friends who would know who they were and vouch for them?
I am just saying... all of this fear is really just fear of the unknown. No one here knows anything about it.
I would say that people would bring up similar concerns about the internet and PC's today if they were looking at it 50 years ago, and the same thing about the post office 500 years ago. None of this stuff ever turns out to destroy our lives. It may destroy privacy as we know it, but no one seems to be bitching much about the fact that people get fired for their facebook pages and that mail that's addressed to you comes straight to your house on a daily basis.
To be honest, I don't share any reverence for the whole "the fed is going to take away everything you hold dear, and big government is going to destroy your lives!!" bullcrap.
It hasn't yet, and all of our advances dramatically help our lives rather than hurting them. If anyone is going to extort me, it's a profit-motivated corporation with too much power, not a government that spends all of its money trying to help people.
You guys need to chill the fuck out.

The government doesn't spend their money (it doesn't have any, its yours and mine) to help people, they make people dependent on them. The people of the United States are so much better at spending their money sensibly than the government ever has been.

If you'd like to tally up all of the stupid purchases that people make (any luxury good whatsoever, unnessecary housing, retail consumer prostitution, etc.) and compare that to the value that the government gives to society (welfare, social security, medicare/medicaid, NASA, etc. etc. etc. etc.), and then try to make the case that the government doesn't spend it's money as well as people do, even in proportion to income, I will gladly listen.
Something tells me that if you did try to make that argument with any substance, you would fall flat on your face.
The truth, here, is that you have no valuable quality to add to the discussion other than your tremendous selfishness because you don't want to pay your fair share into a system that made your job possible in the first place.

You need to do some research on this. Just because you have some attraction to horror movies doesn't mean there isn't truth in it.
HR3200 is a 1500 page document. If you go to page 1004 it is there...just not as detailed. Tracking device.
I would suggest looking up Katherine Albrecht. She is a good source on this topic.
Gov is overstepping their bounds and none of it is good for the people.
Really, check it out.
Cap and Trade, Bailouts, Healthcare, next will be amnesty...you think that is for your benefit? This is becoming a horror movie.
BTW- Cap and trade will not help with the Global warming myth....but it will tax you.And RFID is in the enhanced Drivers license (not yet mandatory), but it is in passports. In NY they are now pushing new Plates, which will have RFID.
It's the slow boil concept..they will implant, if we let them. It really isn't about having nothing to hide and all that...it's about they have no right to do it. Against the constitution.

this is just another mark of the beast...before you know it people wont be able to buy or even enjoy the simple things in life, like the movies, without having something similar implanted into one's body...if i were u i would just deny it...my people have survived long enough (centuries, beginning of man) with out implanted chips or the government following us...we just have to answer to God and will continue to live for Him and none other...especially man...1LOVE...

This is exactly the kind of thing that science fiction novels, movies, and futuristic horror films are based on. A centralized system that immediately identifies and can pull data of any person or persons it chooses.
It may LEAD to that, but I think, right now, it' the same thing we use for our cats and dogs, right? Just a little rice-sized chip behind their ears to identify them if they get lost. This kind of thing sounds very interesting to me, and I also get a twinge of fear.
Science fiction tells us that this kind of thing is what it starts out with. I was just talking to someone about this the other day. Just having a scary idea of what this could lead to gives me chills, and I don't want to see it in my lifetime.
But for this, it's not even mandatory. *sigh of relief*
And I agree, it seems like entirely a green-eco-friendly-paper-saving innovation to me. Maybe I just read too many science fiction books.
I still have an aversion to someone waving a price-scanner thing over me and it going beep, and all my information appears on a screen in the wall.
Let's hope people's fear of an all-powerful and intrusive government keeps my bad scifi fears from coming to fruition.
And here's another thought. Why not just give people a scannable card? Something like that might work, but them again, "what isn't attached you lose at one point or another..."

Check the link...it seems Obama really does care about us...he really does.
Or he wants to know who opposes him! Hmmm why would he want to do that?
Well, being that he is coddling up to commies...it might make you wonder what his agenda for America is.Did you know that on September 20th that China's flag is gonna be flying on the Whitehouse. Hmmmm...plot gets deeper.
You make valid points for not being nervous about the chip...but you really need to look a lot deeper. Life as we know it is gonna change, and not for the better. That is not progress that is actually a welcome to serfdom.
Sorry- I had to write here..I don't know how to respond to posts- It was just giving me a headache trying to find the thread.

It's talking about pacemakers and shit. There's no mention of chips or any other sort of tracking device.
It's under the heading: National Medical Device Registry.
Why don't people research things before they go around talking about Death Panels and Micro chips?

There are at least four bills being passed around in Congress, each a little different. Objecting to having your medical records, allergies, existing conditions and where bits of metal are buried planted under your skin is just silly. It's the same info your doctor has, your pharmacy has it, local hospitals too. This puts it in one place so, for instance, if you are unconscious in a car wreck the EMTs will know about which drugs you're allergic to. That's a GOOD thing.

Coming fast isn't it? Did you ever think we'd live to see it? We should have known after the sixties big brauhagh, love in's, drop out, anything goes. I mean look at the fifties and then the sixties!! Look how fast it went down the drain. In the fifties women dressed smartly, with good decent taste, and the men actually worked and stayed married, and the kids respected their folks at least to their faces...and then along comes the orgy drug fest that man of our older generations participated in! Just look at how fastly we went downhill b/w that two eras, and how fastly, within months or weeks, it is changing now! Just pray to Yahweh and make yoru peace.
