It is more important that a simple propaganda stunt . It is an expression of sustainable ideology . She does not have the power to defeat monsanto . That is a long term problem up to us . She is still defying them . No politician elected will be untainted by their money . Corporate pawns all .

That is going to be one of the greatest ladies since Bess.
By the way, she is an avid gardener and enjoys growing things. For all you people trying to find something dumb and useless to say about it. - 2 years ago

Just got back from Albertsons. It's a major grocery chain, for those of you that don't live where I do.
The organic produce selection is growing. Their organic label is on more goods on the shelves and the variety is growing.
The community I live in is mostly retired/fixed income people and it surprises me to see the organic selection getting larger.
It also makes my shopping a lot easier, too. - 2 years ago

Personally, as long as this government continues to bow to Monsanto, I really don't care about her garden.

JanforGore:
I am angry at Obama's administration just as you are because of Monsanto's revolving door.
On the other hand I want to look at this Organic message from the first Lady as something that will definitely raise more awareness and inspire people of our Nation to do better, being healthier and greener.
And if we are now a step closer to the Organic cause, then by all means I welcome it with all my heart.

Well that's nice for you. I need to see a bit more than this.

We all need to see a bit more than this but it's a start.

I wonder which one of her 26 staff members with 6 figure salaries she had grow it for her.

Cool, the chef must have had some say in the planning and that's important to have the person preparing the meals involved so you use what you grow.
I love that just ripe tomato plucked from the plant, just warmed from the sun. The taste is beyond words, definately worth the work.
Home grown is so much better than commercial grown and shipped. Not as much cleaning involved and no travel time right out of the garden fresh. So healthy! - 2 years ago

Hopefully she can have a very positive effect on other growers around the country.
And individuals...AND communities. - 2 years ago
