(OBAMA APPOVED MESSAGE): “You are about to be ruled by the black man, cracker!”

Image
Mr. Bartle Bull, a former civil rights lawyer and publisher of the left-wing Village Voice heard one of the Panthers yell, “You are about to be ruled by the black man, cracker!” He called it, “the most blatant form of voter intimidation I’ve ever seen.”

    • I could care less if someone calls me a cracker, and just a few days ago I was blogged a WASP, who cares, who cares about slurs, once we rise above, the slurs dont mean anything, we keep the fire going by not walking in truth. "I got called a skank Im going to sue" please. there are so many global issues at this time, it time to let the name calling become ineffective, and less powerful.

wasp isn't necessarily a slur. It stands for White Anglo Saxon Protestant.

      White?
      Have Ancestors from northern Europe?
Not a Catholic Jew or Muslim?
You're a WASP. Yes, that does include agnostics and atheists.

That's maybe 40% of this country.

    • Is the slashing of tires a racial issue, or the use of the word "cracker"?? Of course there would be no hate crime on a basic crime of slashing tires, the intent was to affect votes not punish someone beause of race....

actually yes, hate crimes attachments are to used not for just race, black vs white. It can be used for religion, sexual oreintation, even age and affilation in a political party. and in this case it was black dem.vs. white Rep. canidates, a possible double arena for hate. I personally dont believe in the Hate crimes attachment.

    • In Milwaukee, 2 men of the demo party and Acorn, I believe. The kids of a local politician had slashed the tires of several Republican party vans in an attempt to stop the voting. They were found guilty of the crime but no hate crime enhancement. Some speculate this would of caused more racal tension, however others though the community service they received was cause of increased racial tension. Listen to what the prominent black leaders are really saying. Oprah, and the Athletes and the blessed Rev, Sharpton. Listen to the comments, they are not about racial equality, this goes much deeper, they have an agenda. Read Van Jones history and idealism. the Dems at the White House were waiting for him. And both Obamas shouldnt say they didnt know, they knew, if they didnt and dont agree why dont they address the mounting tension?

    • The public opinion of racism in general is one that supports racism towards the white race by not prosecuting and/or taking action when it is something like this. There is zero political accountability for doing this. The article itself is an op-ed (these types of articles are found in many newspapers and are not "newsworthy based on ones agreeance with them) and while the author does take it to an extreme the facts are clear that these people did this and the administration gave them immunity for it......

I can hardly believe this would be the general take on events if the races were reversed.....

    • The way you people connect things amazes me. Two men yell something outside a polling station in Philadelphia and that makes Obama a racist. Unbelievable. If you really think that the president would risk his political career to block the prosecution of 2 random men, who happen to be black, then you are an idiot on an unfathomable level.

    • Wow how horrible. BLACK PANTHERS! LAW BREAKERS! PEOPLE UNABLE TO VOTE!
If only local law enforcement could deal with the case fairly rather than the Federal govt.

      Oh wait..

There is no connection between these men and the Black Panther party, according to the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office.

Philly DA spokesperson Cathie Abookire told CNN that this was a "non-incident."

The Philly DA also said as of 2:30 p.m. that overall voting problems in Philadelphia were down from 2004 when there were 49 incidents reported.

FOX News reported this incident to actually be Black Panthers intimidating voters by blocking the door.

"No voter has been denied the vote...this is the United States of America and unless [the men standing outside] break the law or do anything, they have the right to stand out there. We don't need anybody trying to trump up anything or generate any kind of excitement," said Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter.

Two black idiots mouth off at a polling station and are told to go play somewhere else like the children they are. Meanwhile the GOP has a more effective means to dissuade voters:

What a shame, try educating people in the inner cities about this or at your local hick baseball game....nobody gives a crap about reality, they are all living in their political fantasy world where governments are there for "them" and "others".....what BS, governments are now giving protectionism to big business, usurping the 10th amendment, abusing the Commerce Clause, spying on us with little threat of a terrorist attack, war, taking our civil liberties.....and monopolizing productive sectors into unproductive or inefficient sectors in the disguise of a free market....what a joke....governments have imprisoned our peaceful people for to long. We must END the war on consumerism, end the war on terrorism, end the war on drugs, end the war on freedom!

    • I think the focus should be on the voter intimidation part and the justice department's response. It is interesting to note the the US Civil Rights Commission disagreed with the Justice Department throwing out the charges against the two men who were members of the New Black Panther Party. They see it as a case of voter intimidation.

    • I have an alternate theory. Keep in mind that all these peacefreedomhappybunnies posts are from what seems to be more or less a propaganda machine for Ron Paul and the libertarian right in general.

One of the problems Ron Paul and the right have been having lately is allegations of racism. I think this represents their best attempt to smear the opposition with the same brush.

That attempt being a single action of an unaffiliated fringe group over a year ago. it's sort of pitiful really.

    • Racism begets racism.

Now because two black panthers were making racial comments and Obama dropped voter intimidation charges, Obama is a racist. However, he is not only a racist, he is the most racist president we have had in a century, allegedly.

The author only needed to read a few pages of Obama's book to come to this conclusion.

However, this is not news; it is opinionated spew by some embittered person who is bias against left-wing politics. His objectivity is skewed by the fact he's projecting the actions and words of the Black Panthers onto the president and neglecting the fact that he is mixed race.

Is Obama the best president we've had in a century? Probably not. He's another puppet in the long line of puppet presidents.
But is he the worst or most racist? Certainly not.

    • This article is Crap. Did anyone read this none sense? "Clearly Obama is the most racist president America has had in over a century." Give me a break. The only lying racist is the author of this article! This man knows nothing of the DISBANDED Black Panthers history. He fails to mention the fact that the group is the NEW BLACK PANTHERS and that Obama has no control over the judicial branch. This article is for all people who didn't pay attention in elementary school

Actually this is indeed a case of Voter Intimidation, regardless of whether or not it was the Black Panthers or the New Black Panthers...I do NOT think Obama is a racist, HOWEVER, it was the JUSTICE Department that decided to NOT pursue charges against the 3 individuals. I did the research that took 2 minutes, and the opinion of the author of this article may be imbecilic, but the story itself about Voter Initimidation taking place and the case being dropped by the Justice Department is true.

"Hammy", you are on target. NO! form of voter intimidation should be allowed at the polling places. It is an affront to the democratic process and should be prosecuted as a federal crime. As you probably know I live in Nigeria. Most Americans cannot imagine the violence perpetrated at voting places against anyone trying to vote against the PDP (ruling party). The military is called out to control the violence, yet people are still beaten and killed. The U.S. men responsible should be punished. Dismissing this case is the first crack in Democracy and can lead to more intimidation in the next election.

We're just tired of the racism....on both sides....and I shout it everyday. BUT Obama should have NEVER given immunity in this court case. I personally believe in free speech, but we just have to point out the other side of the story....where hate crimes and all that crap can be used on the people, but that in certain circumstances, certain friends are let "off-the-hook". It is nothing more than favoritism...

Trust me, I feel the same way, that everyone around me is either clueless or has simply lost their minds. Look at how many people blindly support slavery...on both sides of the aisle....what a shame.

Right. Right. Sure you are. Just what exactly is racism? Is it calling names or is it preventing people from getting work, or insuring that people can't get decent housing, or decent health care? In you mind it's name calling. In mine, its about power, money, and influence. The black panthers have none of these, no matter whose in the White House right now. So what are you really doing here? You are peddling garbage, pure and simple.

You might need a reality check....you really believe centralized coercive monopolies can end racism? Can guarantee housing? And can work all these magical powers? YOU are the one who is on cloud 9 and off in lala land. You can keep using your slavery and force systems as much as you want, but you will only guarantee LESS of things like housing.....and can only support a discriminatory government system that subconsciously supports racial tensions. What I am posting, is information about immunity for a racist from the President, no matter of what skin color. I guarantee you that if a white President gave immunity for voter intimidation to another white racist, it would be all over the place.....but you keep on supporting the silent race war......blindly

    • This reminds me of that old saturday night live skit sendup of a rebulican ad where they have people from ethnic minorities claim to be republicans (sorry can't find a link)

In the skit first three non- white people say "I'm a republican" in individual head shots then in the next scene there's a wide angle of a bleacher full of people all of whom are white men except those three all announcing at once "We're all republicans"

If there is one racist comment in one direction it does not mean the other ten thousand in the other direction are somehow balanced out. Assuming it somehow does is ridiculous.

So supposedly one black man shouted some inflammatory comments as opposed to the tidal wave of racial bigotry shown towards Obama during the election and we need to bend over and grab our ankles. If that is the worst that I need to be worried about then my life is blessed.

At any rate voter intimidation can only happen during an election which was how long ago?

Not news, almost certainly not even true. Of course we can't know since he wont post actual links.

While the authors opinions as to Obama's racism seem almost inherently untrue, the story itself is in fact true. This happened LESS than a year ago, and the case was finally ended in May of THIS year.

There WERE in fact 3 men dressed in "Black Panther" fashion wielding a night stick, claiming to be security, one of whom WAS a Democratic party official observer according to City Records. The case WAS in fact dropped by the Justice Department.

THOSE are the apparent facts of the case at hand. Outside opinions and interpretations aside.

I never said it was, I was trying to seperate the facts of the story from the authors opinion. I laid out the facts, and then stated that the authors opinion aside, here are the facts. Which I indeed think was voter intimidation. Simple as that, I am not endorsing this authors viewpoints, as I think his opinion is without merit and baseless. Though I think the decision to dismiss the charges was politically motivated I do NOT think Obama, OR his Justice department are Racist.

People of all colors and religions need to unite behind the values our founders instilled in us in order to make this country stronger and invulnerable to external threats.
