Moyers is absolutely right..Obama is only wasting time, trying to be nice to people who hate him....The Republicans are in opposition to any real Health Care reform with a public option.....Their party is doing a disservice to the Country by spreading lies and propaganda.Nut cases, fruit cakes and Joe six packs, appear to be in control of their party.. The Republicans have lost all credibility, due to their continuous psychotic behavior.

Good point, Idealist. People seem to want someone to act like their Daddy, tucking them in, feeding them what they want to hear, and threatening the neighbors.

i think that he should grow a pair as well.. personally i think that he is trying to be liked alittle to much.
i think people would like him more if he ruled with an iron fist and pimp slaped stupid comments left and right.
give he people what they want,, a strong ruler! not a punching bag.
bush obviously diddent mind being hated for his decisions. - 2 years ago

You may have missed the particulars as you listened to Mr. Moyers (or read the transcript at the provided link) but Mr. Obama did not refer to anyone as a nut job. That term was used by me and Mr. Moyers. For the details as to why Moyers referred to people as nut jobs, you might want to review the video and transcript.
My personal opinion as to what constitutes a nut job is as follows: someone who believes any of the following myths yet cannot provide any valid supporting evidence for that belief:
1) Obama is not an American citizen
2) Obama is a socialist
3) Obama wants to institute death panels for the elderly
4) Private health insurance companies provide the best options for Americans to receive health care
5) President Obama intends to "indoctrinate" schoolchildrenThere are some who are of the opinion that one or more of the above statements are true, and they state that, as Americans, they are entitled to that opinion. However, there is a difference between an opinion and an educated opinion, and to believe any of the above statements suggests, at the very least, a gap in a person's education.
Yet, the same folks who believe these things, when confronted with concrete evidence to the contrary, raise their voices and shout that they still believe what is obviously false. In the dictionary, the definition of insanity includes reference to belief in and behavior according to situations which are not real. Therefore, the use of the slang, "nut job" is an appropriate and quite satisfying response to such persons' reluctance to face reality.
Again, Mr. Obama did not use the term, "nut job." In this article, that honor belongs to Mr. Moyers, and I gladly share the responsibility for using it to describe people whose opinions are based on fiction and who cling to that fiction like barnacles an a ship.

nutjobs, being, of course, those who disagree with you. So how does he plan on confronting the nut jobs? With more half truths and euphemisms? The American people are a lot more informed and aware than Obama believes them to be!

we are the children of tainted media, Moyers, a show yes, a show of newspeople bias, a show of capitalism, which news media are the winners of gold. Obama should stand up tell the media to go to ---- , not congress and a child of innocence, not a journalist should write his speech.

Yes, hunzedog, it is time for the President to openly confront irrational people who use analogies such as "Shove some more shit down our throats," not only because it is politically necessary but also because shit in the throat poses a potential public health risk.
If, by any chance, you or someone you know has shit in his or her throat, I urge you to seek medical attention immediately. If you are not covered by insurance, perhaps you could go to an emergency room. If you do choose the emergency room option, please be advised that you and your fellow taxpayers will foot the bill for those expensive services.
I wish you well and hope that your throat situation improves.

The right remind me, with some of these openly obstructionist positions they are taking in regards to health care reform, of one of my children who simply refuses to take their medicine that the pediatrician has prescribed when they are ill. They think they would rather suffer the fever and coughing than take the medicine that would have them up and out of bed and able to play once again....amazing.

Moyers gets to the heart of the matter (as usual) and reminds us of what it is to be rational.
