How the US Became a Vassal State of China

Image
lenhart
China owns the United States --or, at least, holds a 'mortgage'. China props up the dollar just enough to ensure that its excess production can be dumped here by way of its US retail outlet --Wal-Mart! The value of the US dollar is almost entirely dependent on China. When it ceases to be advantageous for China to prop up the dollar, the dollar will collapse.

The decline and fall of the American empire is a sorry, tragic saga. It is the story of betrayals of this nation by the likes of Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan , Bush Sr., the Shrub, and many lesser known 'agents' of the increasingly tiny cadre of ruling elites. It is the story of how GOP administrations paid off its elite base with tax cuts which have had, in fact, the effects of impoverishing the poor, enriching the rich, exporting the US manufacturing base, and exporting the jobs that it had supported.

    • Dream on Copes2. With China's vicious troops and suicide troops, Americans would not stand a chance. Not against a billion or almost that many. Even the nvast expanse of the ocean, the world has gotten smaller for all people. And too with China's presence already in South America and Africe their power is increased too.

suicide troops, oh you mean the ones from pearl harbour? great memory you have. i almost forgot about that one. are you taking into account that china doesnt have an aircraft carrier? how do you propose they launch an invasion? swimming ashore? and then maybe doing some kung fu? china does have a presence in south america, and africa. but they dont go in there with guns like america does. their so called presence is still nothing compared to americas 750 military bases around the world where they have guns pointed at countries from every angle. also, china is not staging coups and assasinating leaders that dont agree with their view point. you make the assumption that other countries are like yours. just because america uses threats to gain influence does not mean every country rolls that way. its funny you bring this up because right now there is a debate in japan about removing u.s. troops. this base is actually one of the biggest u.s. bases world wide, and also i would not even call it a debate. the japanese people have spoken. they want the u.s. out, yet america is trying to strong arm the japanese. so much for democracy. ragan, you need to educate yourself before you make any comments about the chinese. study their history. they were a super power for thousands of years, and had the opportunity to invade and attack other countries but they chose not to. they arrived in africa before the europeans did, and left. they did not try to colonise. they also sailed with their navy to south east asia and made no attempts to conquer or colonise. go read 1434 by gavin menzies, and stop fear mongering.

    • im sure we;ve all known bullies that asked to borrow money from us. how many of them actually paid you back? america is already preparing itself for the day that china wants its money back. every day you hear americans generating propaganda about China being a threat, even though it isnt. the same way american politicians sold the american people iraq will be the same way theyll sell americans to attack China. lets face it, americans are gullible and will believe it. by the time China asks for its money back, americans would have already been convinced that china is a threat, enough to support a full attack on China. thats how america rolls. history repeats itself. america will not pay the money back, and will find any underhanded way to come out on top. who is going to stop them? they spend $700 billion on military. 10 times more than any country. i thought the Chinese were smart people with a 5000 year history, but it seems like, by lending america money, they are digging their own grave. in school,

    • China has just purchased Multiple Billions of dollars in more treasury bonds. This is Geitner and the Federal Reserve Bank that is creating debt for us. Debt we will never be able to repay and when China calls for a settlement we will go to war to prevent China from taking our country. It was all a plan from the beginning of Central Fractional Banking. Keep all nations in the world in Debt so that the international Lords of finance will continue to rape the worlds economies. Americans are never taught the fundamentals of world economies in school. One of the advantages of Government run ewducation is that the governments can continue the youth and adults how to be stupid and ignorant, therefore they can pul;l their slick scams to keep Americans enslaved and having Kids they can send off to a man made war to get killed. The present healthcare plans will be according to a debt plan hence the Federal Reserve Bank will continue to rape the economy. HMO's; the Federal Reserve Bank opfficials must love Obama for his iron fisted control of our health as have all the other administrations. HMO's are the death plans. What a bunch of idiots we Americans are. We let Washington walk and shit all over us and we do nothing to stop it. We re-elect the same dictators to congress and the senate continously who have no idea of economics and are blinded by the millions waved in front of them by corporate America. When China and the rest of the world tries to collect on our debts all we can do is lie down and let the tanks and artillary run over us. Also how can America pay off any debt with millions unemployed?

    • Darken and Jammer --the failure of logic in your statements is astounding.

It may seem more fair, and therefore more comfortable for people to insist that the problems we are facing are the result of bad policies from both parties, but I wonder if you would insist on such unbiased fairness if it were the health of your own body that was at stake, and understanding what was creating your disease depended on your ability to identify the carcinogens you were consuming.

Refusing to identify and examine GOP policy is just as ludicrous as arguing genetic predisposition and continuing to smoke, once diagnosed with lung cancer. It is a similar choice to ignore.

Just look at those smiling faces behind W in the video...they know. He got great laughs and even greater applause...now how many Democrats do you think there were in that crowd?

    • The best thing that Americans can do is declare their soovereignty and start up the mom and pop farms, grocery stores, neighborhood bakeries and small appliance shops, general stores and neighborhood hardware stores, mills for grinding their own flour and cormeals, Dairy farm with the local dairies supplying dairy products. Nobody is going to bring back the jobs once held here until the people gang together and start supporting America. States can start building up their own personal wealth independent of the US government. To all of the unemployed look for jobs on the local farms and bring back self reliance and screw Walmart and the likes of commercialism and the unhealthy foods that are being offered today. Salmonella, Bottulism and EColi were never heard of back before commercial farming. People died of old age.

The sale of the US to China is very nearly complete, and was concluded in YUANS ---not worthless US dollars.

It was Nixon who 'went to China' but it was Bush Sr who laid the ground work. Years later, in Houston, I spoke with Bush Sr personally about this. As usual, however, he spoke in vague generalities about trade and peace and this and that and the nice dinner he had in the Forbidden City.

Simply --because of the incompetent ecocnomics of Nixon (removing the US from the GOLD standard), Reagan, Bush Sr, and Bush Jr, the US has become a VASSAL state of China.

    • So far china has done very well thanks to a combination of a large unskilled population that is perfect for factory work and free trade agreements. Since environmental standards are lax and wages are so low companies have been able to make more money sending jobs oversees. In America companies have to pay workers $20+/hour for unskilled labor in factories which is far more than what these jobs are worth. Any economy as it becomes more advanced tends to become service oriented and focus less on manufacturing. We just happen to be time period where this shift is happening and eventually the workforce will adjust. As china becomes more and more American they will start to face more American problems and also huge environmental problems that has come out of the huge increase in manufacturing and little environmental controls. Their population size has helped them so far but eventually their population will suffer from a degraded environment which is only getting worse thanks to deforestation and increase in livestock production. Eventually their medical costs will sore as ours have, partly thanks to mcdonalds hehe, and they have increase drug use, violence and way in the future a decrease in manufacturing as the factories move to other countries. My point is china looks on top right now but eventually they will be screwed. Also china will never let the value of the dollar decrease substantially because this would in effect make their "mortgage" on our country worthless. One more point, who ever said that the decrease in steel production in America is Reagans fault doesnt know anything about business. The decrease is because while we were sitting on our asses they were developing new technology for steel production which forced our companies to play catch up and those who couldnt cut it close. Thats capitalism! Even today our companies are far behind and the only reason they are in business is because freight costs are still high enough that they can compete.

    • Once again the liberals demonstrate the hypocrisy they consistently berate the conservatives for.

This blame game where it's either all the Democrats' fault or all the Republicans' fault needs to stop.

It serves no purpose other than to illustrate the partisan nature of both sides.

You are absolutely correct. The significance of the US position at the bottom of the list with the largest NEGATIVE current account balance is the direct result of the GOP economic mismanagement. It was Nixon who took the US off the gold standard and began 'negotiation's with China but it was left to 'gut' the US industrial base.

Reagan's missrule did not merely wage war on labor by busting up strikes like the Air Traffic Controllers, he FINISHED OFF labor by EXPORTING THE FRICKIN JOB itself.

I recall when the US led the world in the production of steel. I believe that it was under Reagan that Japan became the world's largest manufacturer of steel.

The upside for Reagan --he and his GOP idiots no longer had to worry about striking steel workers.

Thanks for quoting my quotation Lenhart.
Today I had lunch with a friend who is a bit more conservative than me.
When you have spoken to twelve people in one day and ALL of them have been affected by the downturn, you know it's serious. It seems that even service professionals are having their jobs exported as well.
Why that handsome Mr. Reagan was such a gentleman. Every time I see a mentally ill person on the street I think of him and take pause to try and figure out how a man morphs in such a strange way.

We don't even have the equipment to take our industry back. We not only exported the jobs we sent all the instruction manuals and didn't make copies.

When both left and right tell me that they do not recognize our country, I know something is very wrong. Blocks and blocks of commercial property for lease. Places where small businesses could once get a small loan and open a specialty shop or cafe. GONE. Can't do it. Only trust fund babies get to have parents pay for their folly. Loans are not available. The shipping companies are hurting because nobody will give even ten days to pay. It's COD or prepaid.
The greatest tragedy is that we have lost something far deeper. That is the ability to follow a dream. To use our imagination and our hands and eyes. They wanted a servant class and that is what they created.
For all who have studied caste systems, the very rich will have lunch with the maid but not with someone who aspires to be like the boss. I'll dine with the rabble as they have big hearts and have suffered. They'll love to hear the stories of my gout attacks. Then they leave the table, take my plate and wash it and go on with their chores. Their aspirations are only to serve. The man who is ambitious will hurt both my ego and may even think himself to possibly one day be my equal.

And Kylsport is correct, the "lefties" or whatever you call them ARE CORRECT HERE on this thread.

Re: "When you have spoken to twelve people in one day and ALL of them have been affected by the downturn, you know it's serious. It seems that even service professionals are having their jobs exported as well."

The trends were noticed as Reagan still occupied the White House. But the GOP tried the 'spin' it, their recipe for every issue.

If US manufacturing jobs were exported, the US workers would 'migrate' to service industries, white collar, and the incipient IT field.

The GOP assured us that we would survive by 'taking in each others laundry', a so-called 'service' economy.

Now millions of Americans are trying to figure out a way to make money by affiliating wiht Amazon.com.

Unless the nation wakes up to to the HARD facts, a COLD reality, the US will simply become irrelevant on the world stage but for the NUKES it still warehouses and bullies with.

The best historical analogy is still the 'sale' of the Roman Empire by Praetorian Guards to a noblemen --Didius Julianus. The sale was concluded in DRACHMAS, Greek currency, not WORTHLESS Roman SESTERCES.

The US is being auctioned as we write. The sale of the US to China is very nearly completed, and effected in YUANS ---not worthless US dollars.

Re: "Blaming the Republicans is almost as dumb as blaming the democrats for 9/11 because Clinton let the big fish go running around with out capturing him when he could have."

It was the GOP that bankrupted the us under Reagan. It was Reagan who 1) committed HIGH TREASON with Iran/Contra; 2) It was Reagan's tax cut of 1982 which triggered the longest and deepest depression since Hoover's great depression;.

Reagan promised SMALLER govt but DOUBLED the size of the Federal Bureaucracy.

Reagan promised a balanced budget but instead TRIPLED the BUDGET DEFICIT, Bush Jr would repeat that performance.

The US was most productive when it was most egalitarian and that was in the immediate post world War II years.

The 1982 tax cut created the rift in which the rich became richer and the poor poorer. That trend was reversed under Clinton only to resume under the cretin --Bush Jr.

Today --as a result of the incompetence, greed and sellouts by Reagan, Sr. and Jr --just ONE PERCENT of the nation OWNS more than some 95 percent of the rest of us combined.

As I have demonstrated on my blog with thousands of pages and as many OFFICIAL GOVT charts, egalitarian societies are the most productive societies and vice versa.

The transfer of wealth --via inequitable tax cuts -- always, without fail, results in a contraction of the economy. The other word for contraction is: DEPRESSION.

EVERY RECESSION SINCE 1900 is directly traceable to a GOP REGIME.

To underscore the point: since 1945, every major recession has occurred during and because of a GOP regime

Since 1980, every major recession has occurred during the regimes of Reagan, Bush Sr and Bush Jr which left to OBAMA a catastrophe in the making.

Today --as a result of Jr unfair taxation --just ONE PERCENT of the entire population owns more than 95 percent of us combined. This tax windfall has NEVER been re-invested but --rather -squirreled away in OFFSHORE TAX HAVENS that are bluntly just unavailable to anyone posting on this forum.

Monies thus removed from the economy are a CONTRACTION of the economy and the other word for CONTRACTION is DEPRESSION.

As pointed out: the CIAs own World Fact Book lists the US on the very bottom with the world's LARGEST NEGATIVE current account balance, previously called the balance of trade deficit. CHINA is at the TOP of the list with the world's largest POSITIVE current account balance.

The US is a VASSAL of China and that is so whether you like or not. And it is the direct result of the GOP domination of the executive since 1980.

The GOP, moreover, has proven Karl Marx to have been absolutely correct. That is, freedom and capitalism are NOT compatible.

My sources include: CIA World Fact Book, US Census Bureau, Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, US Commerce Dept-BEA, the Congressional Budget Office, the Conservative Brookings Institution and numerous university studies, basic economics text books, and articles by Paul Krugman, the Conservative Milton Friedman, economic treatises by John Maynard Keynes and many, many others.

The HARD STATS, however, are US Govt sources listed above. Now --please try to tell me that the US Commerce Dept is 'liberally' biased !!

BTW -- I don't play this 'fair and balanced' crap! If the GOP have LIED I will do my best to expose it.

IF the GOP has created as a many of either CROOKERY or INCOMPETENCE EVERY major depression or recession since WWII, I am not about to pretend that the Democrats did it, when it was, in fact, the clear and obvious result of the GOP's deliberate attempts to enrich their base which is --as present --just ONE PECENT of the US population.

And guess what --the smart bet says NO ONE posting on Current is a member of that richest ONE PERCENT.

So --get real! The GOP is NOT gonna make you rich. Fuggetaboutit!

The article is correct and based upon the GOVT'S own stats.

Following is a short excerpt from the article that is linked to:

How right wing policies have robbed the US population with "trickle down theory" and other nonsense utterly unsupported with fact or evidence:

      * In the late 1970s, the top one percent of the US population held 13 percent of the wealth; in 1995 it held 38 percent. [Source: Source: Levy, Frank. The New Dollars and Dreams ].
      * The top ten percent of the US population owns 81.8 percent of the real estate, 81.2 percent of the stock, and 88 percent of the bonds. [Source: Federal Reserve Bank data in Left Business Observer, No. 72, Apr. 3, 1996, p. 5].
      * One percent of the US population owns sixty percent of the stock and forty percent of the total wealth. [Source: Hawken, Paul, The Ecology of Commerce: A Declaration of Sustainability. New York: Harper Business, 1993].
      * The top fifth of households saw their income rise 43 percent between 1977 and 1999, while the bottom fifth saw their income fall 9 percent....
      * Since 1973, every group in society except the top 20 percent has seen its share of the national income decline, with the bottom 20 percent losing the most. They have just 3.6 percent of national income, down from 4.4 percent a quarter century ago.
      * Indeed, the top fifth now makes more than the rest of the nation combined...
Rebecca Blank, who recently left the President's Council of Economic Advisors, pointed out, ‘We've gone back to levels of income and wealth inequality that this country hasn't seen since the teens and 1920s.’" [Source: Merrill Goozner, Crash of '99?, Salon.com, Oct. 1, 1999; addendum: since 1999, the date the source was published, the situation is much, much worse. Today --just ONE PERCENT own more than 95 percent of the rest of us combined. GOP incompetence and criminality moves so fast these days, it's hard to keep up!].
      * The top one percent of Americans receive more income than the bottom 40 percent. [Source: Korten, David. When Corporations Rule the World, p. 108].
      * Federal Reserve median family net worth by percentile for 1992, 1995, 1998, 2001 (Federal Reserve Bulletin January 2003, pp. 1-36). Note the small gains for the bottom 75% of the population and larger gains for the upper 25% and that the 1998 to 2001 gains were largest.

Actually, Clinton tried to put a hit (assassination attempt) on Bin Laden. People, most of which were republicans, shot it down for the reason that Bin Laden was a foreign leader and assassinations of people of such positions was immoral and illegal. Job Growth Per Year Under Most Recent Presidents

      Clinton 2.4

      Reagan 2.1

ANOTHER NOTE: The GOP has demonized Carter for a word they just made up: 'stagflation'.

Obama has been in office less than a year.

As incompetent and as dishonest as was Reagan, it required his administration, that of Bush Sr AND Bush Jr to bring the nation to the brink of total collapse, to make of the nation a VASSAL state of China.

i suggest the GOP just shut the fuck up and let the nation try a DIFFERENT strategy because rightwingism is a total screw up, a total failure in every measurable economic barometer.

Clinton, it must be pointed out, managed to REVERSE several pernicious trends that had taken root in the previous GOP regimes.

But --Clinton got a blow job --therefore, GOP LOGIC decrees that nothing he did is valid.

CLUE: I would HAPPILY PROCURE BJs for Clinton if I thought it would REVERSE THE UTTER DISASTER that the GOP has visited upon my country.

In a phrase: down with the GOP! The GOP --indeed the American right wing --is an endemic, total failure, screw up for which there is no redemption.

    • Lenhart,

Going back decades, a very dear person to me said all the time:

What is coming will make the Great Depression --look like a picnic.
That was similar to the last line of the article you posted.

There is NO trickle down from the tax cuts. That was supposed to be their main purpose. You get tax cuts, you create American jobs.
And, as everything else, the attractive but highly deflatable package was too too pretty to pass up.
The article is spot on. It left an entire nation in chaos and fear. Communist China which was an unspeakable "HUSH" word way back when is now our daddy.
Books have been written. Nobody reads. Books about the end of exceptionalism and innovation. Books about making money out of fear. Books about going from a great manufacturing giant to a consumer nation. Now we are the knowledge economy but the best and the brightest are in factories in other countries bringing every bit of innovation that we discover. Not for sustenance and help and to ward off hunger but to build them and destroy us. Next time these geniuses do a trade bill, perhaps they should have an impact report done as well.

Guess we were all too busy with our new plastic toys to notice. Now we are making attempts to get water out of the ship with green/non disposable grocery bags. That's going to help. Bigtime. Even spreading terms such as "minimal impact." Yes, do the least you can...it all adds up. Then sign pacts with a country that is not all warm and fuzzy about anything. That wi'll work. Give a privileged few the keys to the kingdom and let the outcome be a big old surprise. Usually written on a pink slip.
Our foundation has been rocked. A foundation that took centuries to build. Make sure to disconnect your cell phone charger.
Each one of us has a responsibility to get this going again. Critically unfolding what has happened. A one day off the blogs to figure out what we can do as a nation to help stop whatever it is we see happening. Imagine if one idea from each person was put into work. This is where we are. How do we fix it?
Greatness rarely comes from noise unless it's a rock concert.

Sometimes I wish I had of moved 20 years ago to another country but I have stuck around because I am quite fond of the Mad Max movie series. The ride will be hard but thats OK I grew up in the school of hard nocks and nothing scares me.
