sounds concise, and theres probably no need to consider it without regulation and taxation. but i dont even want to think about what agency would regulate it.. i tend to imagine it as alcohol proab, with Al Capones springing up within the regulatory agencies to criminalize marijuana in new and worse ways. maybe native american nations should regulate it. when have they been thrown a bone lately? i think it would even out the vice of gambling. a caretaker role to whom have had a conventional role with the plant. the first strike against all the top 10 reasonings, could be that none of us have ever been afforded any conventional definitions or the positive connotations the native peoples have always held - nevermind the hippies that exploited the culture to facilitate 'revolutionary use'. a break from that ethical divergence is Reason Zero. (in my pot starved mind)

My friends as you know, I second, third and one hundred and third the comments made above.
I first sampled marijuana when I was 18. Next month I'll be 61. 43 years. I guess that makes me a zombie. Never mind that I started my own business on a shoe string and have operated it successfully since 1987. Never mind I've raised 3 kids; one of whom just graduated from college Magna Cum Laude. I'm a zombie. A stoner. An old hippie that also served 4 years in the Marines and is a Viet vet. Stoners are losers. People that can't make it. If you believe that I have a bridge I'd like to sell you. (small bills, cash only please)
Back when I was young and foolish I was among those that sold the stuff for fun & profit. I was also among those caught at it. I've seen the inside of a prison. Consequently I feel confident in saying I've been around the block with this.
There's nothing wrong with the weed that isn't worse with alcohol. It's a toss up whether addicting drugs and alcohol are equal. Both will kill you but you die a long time before you finally leave your body. When folks come to your funeral they shake their heads and say how sorry they feel for you. Not for your death - but for the life you pissed away.
It pleases me that a period of light finally seems to be dawning. But do those of us that would have marijuana legal for personal use have a task? Boy howdy. It's a task like no other. Ever try to convince somebody that a source they respect has been lying to them for 20 years? That's a tough row to hoe.
But that's exactly what's been happening. Worse, it's not just a trusted source, it's our own govt. Even our legislators believe it. For most of them, this issue isn't on their radar scope. I've written to both my senators - Mitch McConnel and Jim Bunning.
Mr. Bunning was a little more open minded but both delivered the same message; varying only in degree of conviction. Referenced me to the FDA. Those are the same happy time folks that have single handedly prevented any profitable research from being conducted that didn't support their position. A nice package. Not worth the ribbon to tie it. Lies I can get anywhere. People that believe them are a dime a dozen. (sure you're not interested in that bridge? It's used, but hey, it still works !! You could charge tolls !!)
Write your representatives. They don't think we're here. They think we're just a few oddballs. But more importantly talk to your neighbors. Take to those people that disagree. When they show you emotion; show them truth. If they call you names request a definition. It's not up to us to prove it right - it's up to them to prove it wrong. And they can't do it. Wrong is wrong.

Education is the key to change. Cannabis hemp facts have been removed from history books. I agree with Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and John Adams.
"Two of my favorite things are sitting on my front porch smoking a pipe of sweet hemp, and playing my Hohner harmonica." - Abraham Lincoln (from a letter written by Lincoln during his presidency to the head of the Hohner Harmonica Company in Germany)
"Hemp is of first necessity to the wealth & protection of the country."
- Thomas Jefferson, U.S. President"Make the most you can of the Indian Hemp seed and sow it everywhere."
- George Washington, U.S. President"We shall, by and by, want a world of hemp more for our own consumption."
- John Adams, U.S. President - 2 years ago
