Man's best friend help soldiers with post-traumatic stress disorder as service dog

The Department of Defense is financing a $300,000 study that will pair dogs with soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan that are trained to recognize when they are about to have a panic attack by nudging them or nuzzling them. Service dogs have been helping those with mental illnesses since the late 1990's.
