I am a bit sceptical, but if proven to be real I would not be that suprised. It was probably the third hooker they had in the office that week, pimps and whores are a part of the landscape in Baltimore, also part of the economy. I would think though, that someone woulod have to be pretty gullible to believe these two were really who they said they were, but with acorn registering mickey mouse as a voter, they obviously have little supervison or accountabilty in their offices.

If this is true and not a paid set up for an employee that knew they were leaving the company (ACORN) and just wanted to stir it up and make some money before they left,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,This is sad.....

I approach this with a healthy skepticism. I withhold judgement or opinion until I know that these women actually work for ACORN and that this is an actual ACORN office. I have no strong feelings either way regarding ACORN, but I have strong feelings regarding the truth. I'm a truth fan :)

Several people I've talk to believe the video is fake. Notice how the couple never tells the ACORN workers exactly what it is that they want the money for on camera? Also, all of the explanations given by the male actor are dubs.

I love that Glenn Beck's entire show today is this story, without actually checking on whether or not this is real.

I find the entire premise that criminals would want to register with the government a little shakey.

If you were engaged in an illegal activity like drug dealing or prositution....would you really want to fill out a bunch of paperwork with the government to recieve $200 in foodstamps every month?

Seems like you'd want to go in the opposite direction and stay as far away from any government building, office or police station you could find.

So the idea that ACORN is the ultra-powerful organization engaged in massive fraud against the government seems a little ridiculous because its entirely based on the idea that criminals -- earning $100,000 in cash every year -- would voluntarily sign up for government benefits which require an address, a SS card, etc.

And the video seems weird too. It's obviously cut in places so we don't know what we're missing in the conversation.....but most odd is the fact that this prostitute is being giving tax advice so that she can pay taxes.

Wait....what?

The filmmaker seemed aghast that this tax specialist was suggesting that she could write of $7k....but the rest of her $90,000 a year in income would be taxable. Isn't THAT odd in and of itself?

Hey, I have no problem with a $100k a year hooker paying taxes on $90k of her "earnings."

Heck, if all drug dealers went to ACORN to fill out paperwork so they could pay taxes....I think that would put a major dent in our deficit, wouldn't it?

Acorn has been involved in many acts of lawbreaking in Milwaukee,The fortune 500 company,I work for has denounced their backing of Acorn. And the only reason it has anything to do with race is because The African American involvment.

if ACORN is guilty then they should be punished accordingly. Poor trainning and substandard employees will have this result every time. shame on them. and this is comming from a bleeding heart lib.

That looks like they staged the entire thing.

So basically this filmmaker wants to "catch" ACORN acting as evil as possible....he tried and FAILED to "catch" ACORN doing anything at a dozen other locations...then he oh-so-conveniently manages to find someone (unknown and unnamed and at a undisclosed location -- all we have is the filmmakers word) who magically agrees to do all the horrible things that filmmaker just knew ACORN was up to all along.

So the filmmaker (pretending to be a pimp) basically says things like, "I'm a pimp and this here is my prostitute bitch and we want some free money!" Subtle!

To which the unidentified and alleged ACORN worker magically says, "Why of course! Let me show you how to lie because I hate America soooo much!"

Sorry but that just comes across as made-up bullshit.

Obviously the filmmaker hired an actor to portray an ACORN staffer after he tried and failed (important point) to catch other ACORN workers doing anything illegal. He probably filmed the whole thing in his basement (in-between watching reruns of Glenn Beck, of course)

The only way I'd believe it is if the filmmaker with a political agenda (another important point) provided the name, addresss and social security number of the alleged ACORN worker.

If ACORN was so corrupt that it was engaged in a nationwide effort to defraud the government of billions of dollars then...uh....why did this filmmaker try and fail at so many other locations?

But we're supposed to believe he magically found the one guy (at the last minute!) who would say all the things ACORN's detractors had always hoped they'd be caught saying?

Again....all we have is the filmmakers word on a) where he was b) who he was talking to. We should be a little more skeptical of any filmmaker. If this were Micahel Moore filming hate-speeches at a Palin rally....would the Repubs be so eager to accept it unquestioningly?

Sounds like ACORN has a corruptible staff member. I think I hear the sound of someone getting fired.

I'd like to know more about the film. How many times did they pull this? How many of these interviews did they not air? Was this staff member chosen at random? Did they know he was giving out this kind of advice?
