    • The whole system makes up the death panel. With no individual part to take full responsibility. Every part making MONEY. And knowing how to SHUT UP to keep the money coming. People of all professions are guilty of ripping off in the name of job security. Doctors don't care for you, they care for money. PERIOD. If this were truly a free country, I would be able to walk into a pharmacy and buy my antibiotics (or anything) OTC. I could look up the best medical info online, the best education would be available free online. BUT NOOOOO this is "The land of the free" Free to be forced to recite the pledge of allegiance. Free to go to jail for your choice of ways to be happy. Free to listen to idiots telling you to "love it or leave it" all the while you already tried, and your probation officer or prison warden will not allow it. Oh hey when you do finish the p and p, you will find you need a passport, and most other countries will not accept people unless they are college grads and felony free. And the USA won't give you a passport if the IRS claims you owe them any money. Land of the idiots is more like it.

    • You know if you don't have to spend your entire life savings when you get sick, you could actually retire on your own money and alleviate the Social Security system. Funny how corrupt politicians run the government into the ground on purpose for the corporations. Evil pigs.

    • I hate to tell everyone this but every insurance company is doing this to us as we speak. I get notice after notice from Rx America about prescriptions they are dropping from the list they are paying for. Now Medicare no longer is paying for a medication to keep me alive with this rare disease I have because of the cost. I'm facing the "death panel" now because I caused myself to catch an extremely rare neurological disease for which there is no cure. I don't smoke, don't drink, I'm not overweight, don't do drugs, nothing, yet I'm paying for the "Golden Parachute" for some CEO. I said this before in a response and people told me I was crazy. Wait until it happens to you or someone in your family. I pray it never does.

So in their plan you will be dead soon, and unable to complain or get this word out.

Free the medicine and allow us to treat ourselves. You can go to Cuba and buy your $200 us medicine for $2.50. Free country my ass. Free to be a slave to doctors, lawyers, pigs, educational institutions, and politicians.

Hmm, I think their goal is for you to stay alive on your own money, while you are still paying them premiums. Everyone wins but you.

I hate that there are evil people out there, defending this system.

    • Over 20 years ago, Connecticut General which later became CIGNA had the montra per a senior VP (he told me this personally): "We are in the business of collecting premiums. We are not in the business of paying claims."

    • That's something I've always thought about when I hear about the hysteria of these "death panels". The real death panel is some insurance worker sitting at their desk, probably even outsourced overseas, trying to make a quota.

If you want to talk bureaucracy, the amount of paper work and jumping through hoops with Cigna is f'ing incredible!!!!!!!! They weren't like that 5 years ago. I speak from personal experience.
