Trading Tariffs with China - Weekend Retaliation

Image
outtheinside
After the U.S. imposed tariffs on low-grade tires coming from China, like it has done on many other products in accordance with WTO rules, China has retaliated over the weekend with a response of looking into imposing tariffs on the U.S. automobile industry and chicken meat. The article suggests that the Chinese government is demonstrating a change in listening to the public media's outcry. I believe it's still selective listening. Do you think this is fair or that the Chinese government will actually follow through with imposing any tariffs?

    • I doubt they will. They don't buy much from us as it is, the only thing we export to them is our jobs. I say we stop trading with them until they agree to buy as much from us as we do from them. They are developed enough now so we can stop supporting them with a trade surplus.
