Van Jones considered for Green Party nomination

Image
asherp
Fresh off getting kicked to the curb on the sly, Van Jones, may be getting a new position. Obama's former Green job's advisor found himself under a barrage of political attacks after a video leaked of him stating the obvious and saying Republicans are “assholes” and Bush is a “crack head.”

Following the leaks, he found himself silenced saying what millions of people were thinking, and had to formally “resign.” Now he's getting his past due and will reportedly be the Green Party's candidate for President in the 2012 election. The Green Party is sticking up for the brother and denouncing the Republican party for attacking Black politicians saying,

“The targets tend to be Black - consistent with Republican fury over the election of Barack Obama to the White House.”

As t the Green Party is jumping to the aid of this brother, and tightening him up to lead their party, Green Party co-chair, Mike Feinstein sang praises to the advocate for environmentally friendly jobs, saying:

“Like the Greens, Van Jones sees green jobs and a healthy environment as interconnected pillars of a sustainable and just economy. We encourage Van to bring that agenda into the electoral arena as a Green Party member, leader and possible future candidate, either nationally, statewide in California, or locally in Oakland, his home.”

If Jones does get the nomination he can shut the mouths of people like everyone's favorite racist Fox News commentator, Glen Beck. Beck spearheaded the smear campaign against Jones digging up the old videos and also Jones' signature on a petition asking for further investigation of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The petition reportedly questioned the government's role in the event, again another opinion reflective of many people's sentiments. Good for Jones, the brother deserves a break for all the political hell he went through for practicing free speech.

    • Based on the hostile replies the right to speech is dead and rotting. The right to run for office is open to everyone. I do not support Jones at all, just his rights. I do condemn the mindless mean spirited responses. Get back on your meds, tap another keg and tune into Glen Beck to kill the few remaining brain cells.

Those denying one person's liberty, denies it from all of us.

    • nice. I'm still disappointed that my buddy Ralph Nader didn't finally get to become prez. Well I hope that Obama can keep the country from completely falling apart until my new buddy Van Jones is sit'n in the white house.

      Here's an experiment.
Set your alarm clock for some random hour in the middle of the night and respond here to one of Jammer's comment's and see if you don't get a response back within 5 minutes or less. LOL

Obama is not a socialist. Either you are pretending to be stupid or you are simply stupid.
      It's your call.
      "worst care in the world.

thats why people come from around the world to recieve our specialized medical care."

The US has very good, even excellent health technology. However, the worst delivery system in the free world. If you get cancer, you will not be able to afford the treatment unless you are a billionaire and you pay out of pocket because you *will* be denied coverage. What good is 'high-quality health care' when you can't have any?
Sorry, that cancer thing? It appears to be a pre-existing condition.
But, hey, don't let the facts get in your way, jingo-bells.

    • I find it like leaving the water running over the lawn overnight, all the worms come to the surface. A few hours of drying and they slither back in holes cluttered with their own own excrement.

So much for reasonable dialogue and a country which accepts all persons on the merit of their contribution. Birdbrainbob and others who are racially challenged as well as commiephobes while seeing nothing wrong with the fascist tactics of the Bush administration. Spent a lot of time in China, found it freer than we are.

    • What ever happened to Ron Paul? He was black-listed from the get go for his views, but no one has talked about him in ages! He's still running, too. Perhaps both should work together!

Where is Ron Paul, 'he is still running'. Running for what? The campaign is over! I sure hope we end campaign mode and govern for a while. Ron Paul is a Senator, he should be working, not campaigning.

We can't follow the leader we have today. What makes anyone think we should listen to people today, telling us what they will do tomorrow? It's never tomorrow, it's always today!

Even though he may not win because of how our current 2-party system works, I still want to give my support to the third party.

    • My house was bugged to the hilt. Electric company, water company, sewer system, AT&T, cable, satellite. If this is part of the GE smart grid then you can shove that idea off of a very high cliff. Van Jones is against nuclear power but was for this smart grid. The smart grid shouldn't be used to bug houses or torture people and I don't trust GE maker of nuke plants and nuke bombs, or the military industrial complex for which GE stands. Check this part out carefully before you leap Green Party.

Your house was bugged? And you have proof of this?

Smart Grid just means that the grid will have capacitors and transformers placed differently, so that small-time power generators like solar and wind can be fed back into the system, and so that channels can be shut down when they aren't being used during non-peak hours.

      Clearly unbiased journalism.

Who he surrounds himself with does not have anything to do with his policies or how he conducts himself in office.

He's trying to reach across party lines and desperately trying to get everyone to get along. He's not a Marxist, he's a Democratic Centrist. A fence-sitter. He's not even a Progressive or a Liberal. He's one push away from a Blue-Dog Democrat.

I'm willing to bet you don't have a clue as to why Obama is an Eco-Marxist... How about you give an example. I have plenty of examples to the contrary. He certainly hasn't dismantled anything capitalistic or from the state.

'He wasnt single payer insurance, more taxes, supports abortion, big government.'

Not sure what that sentence means but I'll guess...
He (Obama?) wants(?) single payer? No he does not. When did he say that? Show me.
However Canada *does* have single payer health insurance. The extreme right-wing theocratic prime minister of Canada is in Washington today, in fact, and I don't here him complaining about it.
More taxes? Boo hoo. How the fuck do you think America is going to pay off Bush's debt? Wish it away? Sell Alaska?

Let's be clear. 82% of the current national debt was imposed by Bush. That is simply a fact.

Big government? No president in the history of the USA has expanded gov't more than Bush and Reagan.
I directly challenge you to prove otherwise and I am waiting for your response.
BTW, I expect you to back up your claims with documentation.

    • I have a little something for all you commie hunters, you guys are just retreads.... your daddys or granddaddys were the real red witch hunters! Here's a little tune from Bob Dylan dedicated to all you McCarthyites! read these lyrics, or download it at i tunes and realize how you guys appear to the rest of us.

Well, I was feelin' sad and feelin' blue,
I didn't know what in the world I was gonna do,
Them Communists they wus comin' around,
      They wus in the air,
      They wus on the ground.
      They wouldn't gimme no peace. . .

So I run down most hurriedly
And joined up with the John Birch Society,
I got me a secret membership card
And started off a-walkin' down the road.
      Yee-hoo, I'm a real John Bircher now!
      Look out you Commies!

Now we all agree with Hitlers' views,
Although he killed six million Jews.
It don't matter too much that he was a Fascist,
At least you can't say he was a Communist!
That's to say like if you got a cold you take a shot of malaria.

Well, I wus lookin' everywhere for them gol-darned Reds.
I got up in the mornin' 'n' looked under my bed,
Looked in the sink, behind the door,
Looked in the glove compartment of my car.
      Couldn't find 'em . . .

I wus lookin' high an' low for them Reds everywhere,
I wus lookin' in the sink an' underneath the chair.
I looked way up my chimney hole,
I even looked deep inside my toilet bowl.
      They got away . . .

Well, I wus sittin' home alone an' started to sweat,
Figured they wus in my T.V. set.
      Peeked behind the picture frame,
Got a shock from my feet, hittin' right up in the brain.
      Them Reds caused it!
      I know they did . . . them hard-core ones.

Well, I quit my job so I could work alone,
Then I changed my name to Sherlock Holmes.
Followed some clues from my detective bag
And discovered they wus red stripes on the American flag!
      That ol' Betty Ross . . .

Well, I investigated all the books in the library,
Ninety percent of 'em gotta be burned away.
I investigated all the people that I knowed,
Ninety-eight percent of them gotta go.
The other two percent are fellow Birchers . . . just like me.

Now Eisenhower, he's a Russian spy,
Lincoln, Jefferson and that Roosevelt guy.
To my knowledge there's just one man
That's really a true American: George Lincoln Rockwell.
I know for a fact he hates Commies cus he picketed the movie Exodus.

Well, I fin'ly started thinkin' straight
When I run outa things to investigate.
      Couldn't imagine doin' anything else,
So now I'm sittin' home investigatin' myself!
      Hope I don't find out anything . . . hmm, great God!

OK, lets clear this up. 'Van Jones is a self-avowed communist'.
In otherwords, you can now link to me to Van Jones saying 'I am a Communist'. Is that correct?

You said it. Now, please back up your claim with the evidence. I am pretty sure you cannot because you haven't yet finished pulling it out of your ass.

Here's a form to fill out to make it easy:
I, Van Jones, am an a self-avowed communist and the link to support this contention can be found @_________________________.

    • It's 2009. I sure hope every time someone says things someone likes, they don't become the next presidential candidate. Constant campaigning is spinning shit, way too early. People can use their voices today, without being running for office. It's not all a campaign! Let's just be Americans for a while.

It's time to live in today and stop dividing for tomorrow. The campaign will start soon enough. Today is way too early.

We're meeting Obama and the rest of the African American nation in the back yard of the White House to figure out how to get the white man to go back to Europe... You know, since we're all so damned racist...

    • I don't know about Van Jones..... There's a lot of controversy surrounding him. Former Mayor of San Francisco Willie Brown even said this about him: "The only question I have about Van Jones' resignation as the White House green czar is why they didn't they call me before they hired him... I would have said, 'Yeah, I know a lot about him. He's really a pain in the ass. When he ran Bay Area PoliceWatch, he slanted every case to make the cops look as bad as possible. And while he might be talented enough, he's totally and completely unreliable.'"

I'm sure there are much more reliable/honest candidates than Van Jones. By the way, before I get any hate comments, I am a member of the Green Party, and I would not vote for this guy if he was our candidate.

Damn, I really wish we didn't feel it so necessary to demonize the people we disagree with. I don't always agree with JJammer, but I can see the point: don't vote for people you don't fully feel you trust. The problem is we don't really know what it is that makes us trust someone and it takes more time than we're given in any campaign to know how we really feel about a candidate. Then there is the marketing... He/She that has the most coins is seen the most; the one most seen is the most heard; the most consistently heard with the most consistent words is seen to be most consistently trustworthy, all of which can be manufactured. Good thing none of it truly matters in the end, though it will take eons before we in the west realize that the individual (and the life an individual leads) can make a much larger impact in the end; it's a chain reaction that continues with those positive parents raising positive kids.

We can steal from the middle class and poor with impunity and support family values and Christianity at the same time. And out politicians get millions from the very bankers who hurt the economy. Capitalism without regulations is working so well for the very rich.

It will take a while for the comfortable but not rich to feel the pinch, but our politicians will have a few years to stack up the money so they can leave when it really gets bad here.
