Another "very troubled young woman in need of some help"!!!!

A judge dismissed all charges Wednesday night and ordered the release of the four men -- Jesus Ortiz, 19; Stalin Felipe, 19; Kevin Taveras, 20; and Rondell Bedward, 21; all of the New York metropolitan area, according to Nassau County, New York, District Attorney Kathleen Rice.
They had been arrested, arraigned and jailed, with bail set at $500,000 each. Each was facing five counts of first-degree rape.

One of the five men falsely accused of gang-raping a Hofstra University student said Thursday he and his friends feared they would be attacked in jail.
"In life and in jail, rapers and molesters are seen as the scum of the earth, the lowest of the low," said 20-year-old Kevin Taveras. "We were scared."
Dressed in sweats and weary after his ordeal, Taveras said he doesn't even know the name of his accuser and hopes cops "file an investigation of that girl."
"I hope that other people see the truth that she lied, that we never lied," he said. "We could have all done long bids [in prison]. It could have cost us 25 years."
Taveras' dad said what the 18-year-old Hofstra freshman did with her bogus charge will haunt his son forever.
"This is not over," Ramiro Taveras, 44, said outside his Brentwood, L.I., home. "What's going to happen when somebody Googles his name?"
Taveras spoke out a day after the woman recanted her story that five men raped her in a Hofstra dormitory bathroom early Sunday morning.
Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice said she changed her story after being shown cell-phone video footage of the sexual encounter.
"Her actions and her demeanor depict a very troubled young woman in need of some help," said Rice, declining to identify her.

At a news conference Thursday, Nassau District Attorney Kathleen Rice said the woman has not been charged with a crime.... She declined to name the woman... Rice refused to speculate on the woman's motives for filing false accusations against the men...

    • hmmm bc_f, you mention regret and call it "college party" like it was just a soft cuddly aphorism. I think it's a bit of disservice frankly. I surely agree more with banshee' and Kuklamania who say it like it is, and are not afraid "to go that far" to make sure it's clear. If you find something cuts to the core with such startling precision, you know the tool used likely was not your friendlier kitchen butter knife...

Many women are like black widows, and the web they crawl on are the social mores of your day. Look how pithily self-entitled they are to help themselves to the sacrifice and recovery of perceived pride, when it's felt to be of any advantage to themselves.

      Black widows...

echoz, I'm trying to swallow your comments regarding women, but I'm finding it kind of hard. Not all women are who you say they are. I'm assuming you've had a lot of women either turn you down or break your heart, otherwise, you would not have such animosity toward women. With an attitude like that, you'll never find the right the one.

And FYI; before you reply, I'm not a feminist or some righteous women's rights activist.

      Good luck.

Who assumes I'm looking? ;) Actually, I don't have much trouble getting favorable attentions, and I usually get appreciable reception with a little effort...

Anyway, you don't sound like a militant feminist to me either. Perhaps more curious than concerned even ;) hehe... So if you don't speak for feminism, or yourself per se, as this generally applies, annabell, for whom do you speak? If it's hard for you to swallow, does this mean to you that it perhaps should also inherently be less true for others as well somehow? Do you fear acknowledgement here as a consequence makes your hopes or knowledge for better less viable? It does not. Be a good woman in more than your own eyes, especially when it most matters, and no one will find fault in you, if my own sorely incomplete and humble opinion actually mattered anyway. I've heard it said in a few ways that if you take truth and fiction together, of the two, it is fiction that "has to make sense." We excel at conjuring that up. Conversely as true, perhaps, more rarely is the "red-headed step-child" of inconvenient truth even desired to be seen for what it actually is...

But no one can "smother" the Truth quite like some women can and do with their own children, even while they sleep. Like it or not, for each one of us, the Truth *never* sleeps.

and y'know, technically anyway, I did not say 'all', per se, if that can mean solace or hope for all my most beautiful Sisters. I did mean, though, and still do mean, 'enough" or 'most', to be bad enough to be progressively worse...and whether any of it potentially applies to you at any level is likely an investigation that would likely benefit more women than not...as men, as well...(you'll see men don't even fare much better in character or disposition if at all if you've seen any of Abraham99's stats–so I'm surely not trying to be sexist in my "casual" assessments either).

And though admittedly I may not have a lover at the moment, I do have women I love, and love very much. And I also have women who assure me that if I want sex, I know exactly where to find it. Imagine...having to avoid those "sticky situations" eh? hehe ;)

Good luck in sisterhood and womanhood annabell. Appreciated your personal comments. Take care Lady.

Well, I guess I was just speaking for myself. And while I'm at it, I'll admit your comment does tell some truths about some women. I just reacted too soon.

I unfortunately have known girls, particularly college students, that have falsely called rape on innocent frat boys and I found it to be disgusting! They did not want to admit the fact that they got drunk and acted like a slut. None of it involved any arrests, it did, however, involve some ass beatings from so called "boyfriends." Again, it was all very disgusting. I tried very hard to stay away from the whole frat/sorority scene but it's hard they offer free booze
      ;-)

Your comment should not have offended me for I nkow what kind of woman I am and I'm not worried about that. I just hate generalizations of particular races or sexes at first glance. That's how I took your comment and I apologize for taking it wrong.

Anyway, thank you for your response and take care yourself.

:) Mother' (you're Not the "strange" woman!) generalize? I really wasn't trying to do that, but since we're here ;)~ well let's take a vote. hehe Who outnumbers who...are there more Drizella's in the world, or Cinderella's? Which is more common? And who's more eager to see if "the shoe actually fits"? ;)~ lol I bet there will be hellish results to pay for.

but you're a gem too annabell. what would you say is the reason more women aren't just as happy to just have had the opportunity for sex as many men? What difference in standards regarding that "same" sex do you really see? Why do so many women feel this desperation to lie at such great harm? The bigger the lie, the greater the plausibility??? What's the real difference? What in a woman's mind is it costing to have illicit sex? What is she really giving up? What valuable assumptions are women protecting doing these kinds of things in such great denial and deceit? "Regret" as has been tentatively offered, but to me, it seems hardly sufficient... *shrug* In the meantime I'm grateful that I although I've had some crazy experiences with women, most by far have indeed treated me very well. There's an honest generalization I don't mind being guilty of. ;) Crucify me =P or make me write bad checks =P

    • I think In most places It is against the law to falsely accuse someone thereby getting them arrested. I don't remember what the law is called but I hope she is charged with it.

    • Just because you are a dumb slut DOES NOT mean you got raped. There is a big difference between a "gang bang" and a "gang rape". If you are a 40 year old "Cougar" surrounded by J Crew models with huge boners, it's a "Gang Bang". If you are a college freshman exploring your drunken sexuality and you are surrounded by brown boys, it's a "gang rape" (as soon as your friends or parents find out how much of a little tramp you are). Thank God for the camera phone. "No" means no. But, "F*ck me harder" means, not guilty!!

    • insightful bc_f, or so it would seem....that would be the plausible if narrow and selfish emotional context wouldn't it, but regret for what? did these guys incite her? what becomes this mere "acting out"? these guys were about to get really "frivolously" screwed in a way they never imagined for their "crimes of passion" it seems she rather enjoyed from what I hear here...the character of a bitch like that grrrr... Maybe you'll find one good man in a thousand, but a good woman who can find??? her price is FAR above rubies!!!

    • "bringing out"? "is developing"? we dimly, finally, see "a pattern here"? I say it's been in front of us the whole time. Mother puts a point on it saying misperceptions kill and maim and destroy as completely as any evil thing ever could. There is where our destroyer is. On the fringes of what we barely perceive, or, rather, misperceive... To say that Mother is characterized for these stories is possibly also to deny the stark reality perhaps as well? hmmm...

    • Sounds like she just wanted some attention. But she ruined four others lives in the process.

That's a crime, in and of itself.

    • This is total Bullshit! That lying bitch's name should be splashed across every newspaper in the country. These innocent men were certainly publicly identified before they were found guilty. Protecting this moron from public opinion is the best way to assure stuff like this keeps happening. Rapist are "very troubled" and we put them in prison.

Don't get me wrong I understand the anonymity we afford ACTUAL victims but this skezer isn't a victim.

    • These young men have been abused by the corrupt judicial system. Women are blindly perceived as victims and men as perpetrators even when in reality it’s just the opposite. This must stop. The real victims of rape and innocent men will continue to suffer unless the broken laws change.
The 5 innocent men undoubtedly would have been found guilty if the video did not surface. Should we all start record everything for our own protection, just in case?

    • These boys life are ruined now. When anyone wants to hire them, their background will be checked, and they're fucked. People don't care about what has happened- just what they see.

This also creates a negative image for females who are legitemately raped, but will not be taken seriously if stupid girls, like the one in this article, keep falsely accusing innocent men of "raping" them.
