The AFL-CIO, the nations largest labor federation representing 11.5 million workers has endorsed Single Payer Healthcare as the best way to guarantee healthcare to everyone. The unanimous vote in favor
of Convention Resolution 34, The Social Insurance Model for Health Care
Reform, came immediately after President Obama Addressed the convention last Tuesday
Resolution 34 states “The experience of Medicare (and of nearly every
other industrialized country) shows the most cost effective and equitable
way to provide quality healthcare is through a single-payer system.”
Resolution 34 singles out HR 676 as one of a number of single-payer bills
introduced in Congress and states: “The single-payer approach is one the
AFL-CIO supports and that merits dedicated congressional support and
enactment.”
Over 70 resolutions, an unprecedented number, were submitted to the
Convention calling on the AFL-CIO to endorse single payer healthcare.

With any luck at all we will get HR 676 and they will fund it out of the general fund. Yes it would raise taxes. It won't cost anywhere near the six thousand dollars yearly that you pay for shoddy insurance.
HR 676 would institute a single payer health care system by expanding a
greatly improved Medicare system to everyone residing in the U. S.HR 676 would cover every person for all necessary medical care including
prescription drugs, hospital, surgical, outpatient services, primary and
preventive care, emergency services, dental, mental health, home health,
physical therapy, rehabilitation (including for substance abuse), vision
care, hearing services including hearing aids, chiropractic, durable
medical equipment, palliative care, and long term care.HR 676 ends deductibles and co-payments. HR 676 would save hundreds of
billions annually by eliminating the high overhead and profits of the
private health insurance industry and HMOs. - 2 years ago

I hope we get it, If it is paid out of the general fund instead of collecting premiums, everyone pays and people don't have to worry about losing coverage if they lose their job. The other plans they are working on cost as much if not more and are not anywhere as good. This cuts the crooks and liars insurance industry out. Oh well.

The best argument that you can tell anyone is that you are not a product but a human being. It will blow the insurance companies economic philosophy of profits away!
That is the reason I made this movie:

I am always blown away with the off the cuff remarks that government is inept and that private corporations are all for the good of the many. When that myth gets straightened out...the bill passes. I believe that is why the ACORN debacle was broken exactly when the healthcare bill was to be sign. How convenient. Anyone who wants respectable healthcare is a socialist. Idiots. We all want the same thing and should be all together on this one.
PROPAGANDA from the insurance companies and wingnuts will bury this again unless we speak up. - 2 years ago

The AFL-CIO is a huge labor organization. They have clout. I expected this I have been getting notices for the last year or more as each union voted to endorse HR 676. The Democrats better be paying attention the labor unions support is important to a candidate.
