10. Have top U.S. military officers, Defense Department officials, and politicians say we’re in a religious war
~“We in the Army of God, in the House of God, the Kingdom of God have been raised for such a time as this,” saying that George Bush, who himself had ignorantly called the war a crusade, was “in the White House because God put him there,” and, referring to the capture of Somali warlord Osman Atto, “I knew that my God was bigger than his. I knew that my God was a real God, and his was an idol.”~
9. Have top U.S. military officers appear in a video showing just how Christian the Pentagon is
~In addition to the Christian Embassy video, theMilitary Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) has uncovered a slew of other videos of uniformed military personnel endorsing fundamentalist Christian organizations and military ministries, many of which have missions that include proselytizing Muslims. These videos are easily found on the internet, providing plenty of potential propaganda material for recruiting by extremists.~
8. Plant crosses in Muslim lands and make sure they’re big enough to be visible from really far away
~Numerous reports and photos received by MRFF, like the one below, as well as photos posted on official military websites, show conspicuously displayed Christian symbols, such as large crosses, being erected on and around our military bases in Iraq and Afghanistan.~
7. Paint crosses and Christian messages on military vehicles and drive them through Iraq
~The title of Jeff Sharlet’s May 2009 Harper’s Magazine cover story, “Jesus killed Mohammed: The crusade for a Christian military,” actually comes from one such vehicular message — the words “Jesus killed Mohammed” painted in large red Arabic lettering on a Bradley Fighting Vehicle, drawing fire from nearly every doorway as it was driven through Samarra.~
6. Make sure that our Christian soldiers and chaplains see the war as a way to fulfill the Great Commission
~Campus Crusade for Christ’s (CCC) Military Ministry, for example, whose goal is to transform our enlisted trainees and future officers into “government-paid missionaries for Christ,” is present at all of our military’s largest basic training facilities, as well as the military service academies and ROTC campuses.~
5. Post photos on the internet of U.S. soldiers with their rifles and Bibles
~Until being exposed by MRFF and taken down, the Fort Jackson CCC Military Ministry had a website containing not only its Bible study materials, but numerous photos of trainees posed with their rifles and Bibles. ~
4. Invite virulently anti-Muslim speakers to lecture at our military colleges and service academies
~“Absolutely. If a Muslim who has — who is — a practicing Muslim who believes the word of the Koran to be the word of Allah, who abides by Islam, who goes to mosque and prays every Friday, who prays five times a day — this practicing Muslim, who believes in the teachings of the Koran, cannot be a loyal citizen to the United States of America.”~
3. Have a Christian TV network broadcast to the world that the military is helping missionaries convert Muslims
~In complete disregard of this bedrock standing order, the U.S. Army facilitated the evangelizing of Afghans by these Christian missionaries...~
2. Make sure Bibles and evangelizing materials sent to Muslim lands have official U.S. military emblems on them
~What better way to say to Muslims that the U.S. military is not officially Christian than to have official U.S. military emblems stamped on hundreds of thousands of Bibles floating around Iraq and Afghanistan?~
1. Send lots of Arabic, Dari, and Pashtu language Bibles to convert the Muslims
~Worse than any English language Bibles, even those stamped with official U.S. military emblems, are the countless thousands of Arabic, Dari, and Pashtu Bibles making their way into Iraq and Afghanistan...~

So its okay for other people to live their religions, but if our soldiers live theirs then they are bad. Am I the only one that sees this as messed up?

I think you missed the point of the article. I'll put it simply:
No, it is not bad for our soldiers to be religious.
Yes, it looks like a crusade when you publicly exhibit the above ten behaviors.

it's fine if you drive around with a sign on your car that says 'jesus saves', it's quite another when you vehicle is an abrams tank, you're driving in a occupied country and you're the only one allowed to have guns.
are we the only one who sees that as messed up.
and what happens when our muslim soldiers express their faith openly, maybe handing out copies of the koran? that okay with you too?
or maybe our wicca soldiers, handing out pentacles and preaching about the evils of christianity? - 2 years ago

America pushes its own righteousness now. So, how does it feel to be a righteous pusher?

So nothing has changed since the beginning of time?(history does repeat itself) I thought our country was not about pushing religion on to others and was now just about pushing capitalism and democracy instead, guess not...

Anyone who spells Schwarzkopf correctly (not me; I copied it) correctly deserves to be either Speaker of the House or watched closely by the FBI.

Pakazak, if you load up the government with lots and lots of standard-issue Christians you get a bunch of people who consult ouija boards for advice because they are endowed with the great intellect to understand this thing they call a "Trinity". I wrote back and forth with a priest for over a year and he was unable to explain it to my satisfaction, and yet in the end his "winning argument" was that it was "the mystery of the body" that we have to accept.
In short, ya don't need facts when you have Beliefs.

Well Pakazak, people who are trained to accept stuff they can't explain -to themselves or anyone else- those are people who will accept most anything. I recall they accepted Adolph Hitler.

Norman Schwarzkopf had commonsense policies back in the 90's when we were in Iraq and Kuwait for Desert Storm. Seems like weve gotten "more religious" or just plain stupider since our last trip to the Middle East.

A good example of why church and state should be utterly separate. There have been many wars fought over which religious group's god has the biggest imaginary dick. Bronze-age mentality does not mix well with 21st century military technology. Scary!
