FLASH MOB for BURMA!

Image

Check it out- flash mobs are awesome, Shepard Fairey is awesome, and the Burmese Junta sucks. This is going to be sick if it's pulled off successfully!

"This weekend, we’re at it again. Sunday at exactly 4:00 p.m., we will be staging a flash mob at the Abbot Kinney Music Festival in Venice. To participate, grab your free poster created by artist Shepard Fairey depicting Aung San Suu Kyi. When the clock strikes 4:00, unfurl your poster and stand in silence for five minutes, in solidarity with Aung San Suu Kyi and to raise awareness about her imprisonment as a symbol for the issues plaguing Burma."

    • 4:00 P.M. SHARP,
      Sunday Sept. 27th
      Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, CA
      Between Westminster and Broadway

      WHAT'S GOING DOWN:

At exactly 4:00 P.M we will take over the streets of Abbot Kinney to raise awareness for Aung San Suu Kyi. Over 300 full sized posters designed by world-renown artist Shepard Fairey, depicting international human rights activist and Burmese political prisoner Aung San Suu Kyi, will be given out for you to hold.

So, at 4:00 p.m sharp, hundreds of individuals throughout the festival and freeze in place (for exactly 5 minutes), unfurl the poster, and gain much needed attention for Burma. To be noted- this is not a protest. We are effectively using this iconic image of freedom to bring attention, awareness and a call for action against the human rights abuses happening everyday in Burma.

GRAB A (FREE) SHEPARD FAIREY POSTER:

You can either pick posters up during the week at the Causecast HQ (969 Colorado Blvd, Santa Monica), or come by the Causecast booth BETWEEN 10am and 3:00pm on Sept 27th- on Abbot Kinney just between Westminster and Broadway.
