Did Glenn Beck's 9-12 protest inspire the murder of a US Census worker? A disturbing story is developing concerning the murder, the hanging, of a US Census worker. The worker was found dead, hanging from a tree, the same day as Glenn Beck's 9-12 Tea Party march on Washington D.C. The marchers were angry about many things, the expansion of the Federal Government in particular. The fact that the murdered Census worker was hanged with the word "Fed" written across his chest raise the inevitable speculations, and investigations.-

On paper, taxes may seem low, but there is a hidden tax that some people call the inflation tax. http://www.house.gov/paul/tst/tst2006/tst071706.htm
Also, how does forcing everybody to pay for health insurance make healthcare better? It's pure arrogance for the federal government to tell me I need to spend my money on something. Will congress be required to spend their money on health insurance? They probably won't. They probably will keep spending tax payer money for their health care. - 3 years ago

@ocanada:
You're absolutely right in your assessment of the area and what goes on there. The KY. newspapers today are saying it hasn't been determined whether it was a murder or a suicide. He did have a rope around his neck and was tied to a tree, but his feet were touching the ground. He was found in Daniel Boone Natnl Forest, parts of which are totally isolated and thick with marijuana groves. His truck, with laptop and gear still in it was found in a neighboring town. What happened hasn't been determined yet, but I seriously doubt that Glenn Beck had a darn thing to do with it.

I truly hope not, however we have not had all the facts in yet, let alone any idea of who is actualy responsible. This region in Kentucky is famous for its marijuana and moonshine production and violent opposition to federal agensts from the A.T.F. investigating in the region. Also it is concievable that some one could have cooked up a scenario by placing that word on his chest that people will look for an idealogically motivated killer to cover themselves. This isn't the time to look before we leap. In america people are innocent until proven guilty. However, guilty or not it wouldn't inspire Beck or Bachman or any other right wing mouthpiece to show personal accountability for their words, please stop dreaming.

Newsflash: suicide not ruled out on "fed" hanging death-he was in contract with the ground
http://theplumline.whorunsgov.com/uncategorized/suicide-not-ruled-out-for-dead-c...
I’ve got some more detail for you on the case of the Bill Sparkman, the U.S. census worker who was found dead of hanging, reportedly with the word “fed” scrawled on his chest:
1) Kentucky state police have not ruled out the possibility that the death was a suicide or even that it was accidental, according to police spokesman Don Trosper.
2) His death has been ruled “asphyxia,” Trosper said in an interview. “There was a rope around his neck. It was attached to a tree,” Trosper continued, adding this intriguing detail: “He was in contact with the ground.”
That raises the possibilty that the cause of death was not hanging. Asked if this were possible, Trosper said: “Nothing is being ruled out.”
3) Trosper said the initial AP story on the death contains “flaws and errors.” That means it’s possible that the AP’s claim, based on an anonymous source, that he had the word “fed” scrawled on his chest could be false. Asked if that were the case, Trosper declined to comment.

"By your logic, everyone who protested Bush should also be tried for sedition. What's good for the goose."I guess you don't recall the free speech pens. Oh yea you RW brownies want to forget about that when you have your angry violent town halls. Or your governors call for secession.
When you try to incite violence, that is sedition. Simply protesting actions is not. Michell Bachman had a long rant aboiut the Census and used the words revolution and told people they need to be armed. The crazy who did this probably listened to her.

Not that Acorn doesn't have issues, or certainly we have real problems with illegals, but they are just a small piece of what is going on. People like Glen Beck, Limbaugh, and even Lou Dobbs, amplify and distort these issues to suit their own profiteering ways.

Look at your hypocrisy in ignoring the corruption that now exists within the current administration and it's toadies like ACORN. It invalidates everything else you have to say. Bush is HISTORY and yes he was a joke but it does NOT excuse what is happening NOW.

Not a cause but definitely an influence. What needs to be taken into account here is the lesson of history. Extremists always talk against the people in power, but act against the weak. This "fed" was just a substitute school teacher trying to earn a little extra scratch. The people who killed him were reactionary cowards who shame themselves and the movement that will inevitably be scarred by their actions. Making it about Beck is just a diversion. Even Warren Buffet thinks it unfair that his secretary pays more taxes (percentage) than him."
He told be me I hated america because of my opinions - I am a veteran for god sakes!!! - when I asked him who else agreed with him he said the dreaded and scary, closeminded name "GLEN BECK"!!

Beck is calling for revolt over high taxes at a time when taxes are lower than most years in a half a century. One has to ask, what does Beck really want here? Beck seems to be begging viewers to listen selectively. Anger over taxes becomes just a way of saying "Lets get angry". It is the conservative calling card that elicits a conditioned response. So what if the facts aren't straight he begs without saying? So what if the anger spills over into violence he begs without saying? Let's be like the patriots of the American Revolution, says Beck, as if we have a real cause.
So what, in reality, do conservatives need to be angry about? That the economy is getting stronger? That health care is bound to get better? That terrorism has lagged in recent months?
