Hostility rises as Iran launches 2 missiles.

Image
Manuel_Trujillo
Iran, in a series of military exercises has launched two short range test missiles. Iranian state run television is reporting another planned test of the Shahab 3 long range missile on Monday.

This all amid political backlash after intelligence reports that Iran has had a secret uranium enrichment plan in the works since the Bush administration.

Iran continues giving reason to critics around the world to continue in calling for economic and military action against the country.

Do you feel that Iran should have tested missiles amid all of this hostility? Was this a good, or a bad move for Iran?

      http://www.iaea.org/NewsCenter/MediaAdvisory/2009/MA200919.html

With respect to a recent media report, the IAEA reiterates that it has no concrete proof that there is or has been a nuclear weapon programme in Iran.

At the Board of Governors´ meeting on 9 September 2009, Director General Mohamed ElBaradei warned that continuing allegations that the IAEA was withholding information on Iran are politically motivated and totally baseless.

The Agency receives information from a variety of sources that may have relevance to the implementation of safeguards. All such information is critically assessed by a team of experts working collectively in accordance with the Agency´s practices.

The IAEA reiterates that all relevant information and assessments that have gone through the above process have already been provided to the IAEA Board of Governors in reports of the Director General.

    • Iran vs Israel: What The Media Wants You To Forget

The corporate media have been given their orders to throw the focus back on to Iran.

Here is a recap of what they are trying to make you forget.

      1. Last Spring, Rose Gottemoeller, an assistant secretary of state and Washington's chief nuclear arms negotiator, asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Israel refused.

      2. The United Nations passed a resolution calling on Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. Israel refused.

      3. The IAEA asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. Israel refused.

      4. Iran's formal notification to the IAEA of the planned construction of the backup fuel-rod facility underscores that Iran is playing by the rules of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty which Iran has signed.

      5. Iran allows IAEA inspections of all its facilities.

      6. Contrary to face-saving claims, it appears that the US and Israel were both caught off guard by Iran's announcement. The reasoning is simple. Had the US or Israel announced the existence of he new facility before Iran's notified the IAEA, it would have put Iran on the defensive. As it is now, the US and Israel seem to be playing catch up, casting doubt on the veracity of Israel's claims to "know" that Iran is a nuclear threat.

      7. The IAEA and all 16 United States Intelligence Agencies are unanimous in agreement that Iran is not building and does not possess nuclear weapons.

      8. In 1986, Mordachai Vanunu blew the whistle and provided photographs showing Israel's clandestine nuclear weapons factory underneath the reactor at Dimona.

      9. Israel made the same accusations against Iraq that it is making against Iran, leading up to Israel's bombing of the power station at Osirik. Following the invasion of 2003, international experts examined the ruins of the power station at Osirik and found no evidence of a clandestine weapons factory in the rubble.

      10. The United Nations has just released the Goldstone Report, a scathing report which accuses Israel of 37 specific war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza earlier this year. Israel has denounced the report as "Anti-Semitic (even though Judge Goldstone is himself Jewish), and the United States will block the report from being referred to the War Crimes Tribunal at the Hague, thereby making the US Government an accessory after-the-fact.

We all need to be Joe Wilson right now. We need to stand up and scream, "LIAR!" at every politician and every talking media moron that is pushing this war in Iran. And we need to keep dong it until they get the message that we will not be deceived any more.

Israel wants to send your kids off to die in Iran, and YOU are the only one that can stop them.

Israel refused? Of course. What you and Iran and all the anti Israelis want, is for Israel to guarantee that while Iran continues to build their nuclear bombs, they will not be interrupted or stopped from building the bombs.
Obama and Bush would have loved that. Then they wouldn't have to worry about Iran going nuts or Israel going nuts. The general attitude is, "Let Israel and Iran kill each other."
However, there are hundreds of millions of Christians here who do not agree with throwing the Holy Land away to murderers who were chopping people's heads off thirteen hundred years ago with no Israeli Zionists, as their excuse back then. They haven't changed since then.
It's the same old bloodshed today as it was before there were any Apartheid claims, or wine complaints, or Jewish mazo complaints, or the inquisition complaints. This is what the world knows underneath all the rhetoric and propaganda.
The world bullies have found the Jews again.
Guess what? This time, the world is risking itself to try to get rid of the Jews. The Jews have had enough, with more than three thousand years of various bullies, who wear different disguises. The Jewish People are just going to react and retaliate and preempt regardless of who is going to get angry for a change. They are already being seriously threatened.
What have they got to lose if the world says nothing, while Israel's existence is threatened?
Guarantee...Israel is not going to sit back and watch and then go run to hide in a corner.
Anyone who is reading this does not need me to say that. You already know on your own that Israel will no longer run and hide.

    • Mr. Obama should follow his current policy.
He should sit down and say to Iran, "Please stop this. This is not nice. "

The next Obama move will be sanctions.
The next Obama move will be severe sanctions.
The next Obama move will be very extreme sanctions. By then it should be 2011 and the Iranians will have about ten bombs.

There, now that ought to do it.

    • Irrespective of the issues surrounding whether or not Israel possesses nuclear weapons, it is simply absurd to equate democratic Israel with the terror supporting, Holocaust denying theocratic Iranian regime. Israel has never tested, used, or threatened the use of nuclear weapons, has called for the creation of a nuclear-free zone in the Middle East and has stated many times that it will not be the first state to introduce nuclear weapons into the region.

    • From The Jerusalem Post just a few months ago:

"There is no concrete evidence that Iran is attempting to develop nuclear weapons, incoming International Atomic Energy Agency chief Yukiya Amano said Friday, in his first public comments on Iran's nuclear program.

"I don't see any evidence in IAEA official documents about this," Yukiya Amano told Reuters.

After Mr. Obama told the Jews (woops, I mean Israel) that they should wait, while he would works things out, Israel announced the statement you quoted to relax the Iranians as per Mr. Obama's instructions. However, you yourself just quoted the Jerusalem Post of a few months ago. The report I quoted happened five days ago.
Still, I hear what you are saying and you are not so far off the track.
My point is that Iran continues to play the Jew baiting game while the world and the USA and Israel are getting more frustrated and impatient daily. Soon, as Israel reaches its "boiling Point" (meaning when they will have to preempt the coming attacks), Mr. Obama's instructions will become nothing in the eyes of the worried Israeli leaders. They will definitely not sacrifice their country to Mr. Obama's instructions.

You forgot about Israel's very real weapons of mass destruction

Iran has been producing nuclear power since the 70's. No nukes since then, and there are none stull today, except for the ones that the media and puppet politicians like Obama and Bush have been LYING about for five years now.

    • The recent ‘shock’ over the ‘discovery’ of Iran’s second covert uranium enrichment plant, which proves beyond doubt that the regime is intent on making a nuclear weapon rather than providing nuclear energy, was vitiated by the fact that Obama knew about this second plant before he even got to the White House. And now he’s threatening to really get tough through... er, sanctions. Oh, please. The moment for that is well and truly over. Iran is all but there. America gave it the most precious asset of all – the time to build its nuclear weapon which,is in the hands of such a regime constitutes nothing less than a threat to humanity.
France’s President Sarkozy has openly mocked Obama’s call for universal nuclear disarmament – but it appears that his remarks were censored by the mainstream media which failed to report them, with the sole exception of Canada’s National Post (and even here, it is claimed, the story has since been pulled from its website). According to this story before it vanished into the ether, Sarkozy said:

‘We live in the real world, not the virtual world. And the real world expects us to take decisions...President Obama dreams of a world without weapons … but right in front of us two countries are doing the exact opposite...Iran since 2005 has flouted five Security Council resolutions. North Korea has been defying council resolutions since 1993...I support the extended hand of the Americans, but what good has proposals for dialogue brought the international community? More uranium enrichment and declarations by the leaders of Iran to wipe a UN member state off the map’.

Sarkozy understands what some of those around Obama do not – that the free world cannot ‘live with’ a nuclear Iran. Those who say it can simply do not grasp that this is not a re-run of the Cold War. Iran is committed to the destruction of the non-Islamic world and will use nuclear weapons to bring that about.

    • "You would have said that back in 1941 when the US went in to help defeat fascism and save the free world. You would have been quite happy to see a whole civilisation and millions of people destroyed."

You can't read my mind, so please stop putting words in my mouth.

We didn't go to war to "help to defeat fascism" and "save the free world." We got involved in World War II because we were attacked. We were justified in curb-stomping Nazi Germany and Japan.

In Korea, we were "fighting communism." Same thing in Vietnam. Thousands of eighteen year old kids were drafted and sent to that hell-hole. For what? Fighting communism? My father has medical problems from Agent Orange, and mild PTSD, because we were "fighting communism."

And Iraq. Iraq was a fabricated threat. Four thousand U.S. soldiers died there, and many more civilians have died. For what? Defending freedom? America's job is not "defending freedom" across the world.

"Your whole attitude is profoundly selfish, short sighted and isolationist."

Yes, it is. I suppose the people of France are evil because they want their tax dollars to go towards them, and not some foreign war?

"There are in fact people on here who want to see a second Holocaust. It's that bad brother."

      No there aren't.

Neda was used as anti-Iran election propaganda by Zionist media. None of you Zionists care anything about the well being of Iraninans, otherwise you war mongers wouldn't be calling for war and santions.

Second, you are mistaken when you say that Iran is close to mounting a nuke to hit Israel. It is Israel that is performing military drills to attack Iran.

There is no country that wants blood like Israel. It's pretty sickening actually. But you can continue to post your holocaust pictures and videos, as if we haven't gotten enough of the holocaust shoved down our throats already.

You're still begging for sympathy for something that happened over half a century ago, and our nation and other nations have paid for over and over in the form of holocaust reparations, museums education ect.

The UN also issued a report that Israel was guilty of a holocaust themselves against the Palestinians. They used incidiary weapons which burned innocent Christian and Muslim men wormen and children alive (a holocaust). We can talk about that if you want since you want to talk about off-topic issues. I am also here to educate.

    • Birdmanbob4:

The UN did not create Israel. Birdman....At least tell the truth.

United Nations General Assembly Resolution no. 181 of 1947 (commonly known as the Palestine Partition Plan) recommended the creation from all of the lands of Mandatory Palestine west of the Jordan River, representing 22% of original Mandatory Palestine, a Jewish state (comprising slightly less than 11% of the Land), an Arab state (comprising slightly less than 11% of the Land) and an internationally-administered greater Jerusalem.

It is often asserted that the modern State of Israel was created by this Resolution as a byproduct of Europe's alleged guilty conscience over its complicity in the Holocaust.

Although widely accepted as an unassailable truism, this assertion is quite false.

AIPAC, which operates as a foreign entity within the US, has been implicated ion espionage when two former employees were indited for spying for Israel.

AIPAC promotes militant Zionism and constantly pushes for US war with Muslim nations. Militant Zionism is a racist ideolgy, but you are called an anti-Semite for pointing this out.

      What's on AIPAC's website? Nothing but a bunch of anti-Iran, anti-Palestinian propaganda.

Nothing about how the UN found Israel guilty of war crimes.

    • What is it with all the Holocaust hysteria and hypervetillating. It was more than half a century ago.

The fact is that Iranian officials, under the NPT (which Israel refuses to be a part of) was complying with the IAEA, and plans are already underway to inspect the new facility.

      From the Associated Press:

"Iran said Saturday it will allow U.N. nuclear inspectors to examine its newly revealed, still unfinished uranium enrichment facility as world criticism mounted over the underground site that was developed secretly.

The presence of a second uranium-enrichment site that could potentially produce material for a nuclear weapon has provided one of the strongest indications yet that Iran has something to hide — despite its repeated assertions that its program is only to generate power."

      Furthermore,

Iran wasn't part of WW2 and had nothing to do with the the 50 million humans who lost their lives.

The reality is that Zionists Jews and State of Israel were the only benefactors of WW2.

Otherwise it's farewell Israel and another 7 million Jews...not to mention many more from the fall out in the region. It is not necessary for Israel to nuke Iran...that's absurd....just take out its nuclear installations. Imadinnerjacket and his mad Mullahs are apocalyptic psychopaths who believe that they have to precipitate a holocaust to bring about the coming of the Mahdi, the 12th Imam. They belong to an apocalyptic end times Shiite cult and mass destruction, including their own people, doesn't bother them at all, as the only thing that counts is their messiah returning. The Supreme leader could care less to nuke Israel in my opinion, and that is a bit scary.

If you were Israel, what would you do?

Are you joking? The reason why nation-states dont just go around nuking each other is because of MAD(mutually assured destruction). If Iran attempted to nuke Israel it would be completely destroyed... even Ahmadeinajad isnt that dumb.

Nobody but the Iranians can say for certain, of course, but I really DON'T think they would use a nuke...at least not in the near to medium term. I think they would be THRILLED to fundamentally alter the balance of power in the Middle East in their favor. The Iranian government may be volatile...but they aren't stupid. Even Ahmadinejad's pronouncements on the Holocaust are pure theater -- he knows perfectly well that the Holocaust was a historical fact...but saying so won't drive his enemies to distraction.

A nuclear weapon or three, combined with the river of cash that flows inexorably into Iran from their oil imports, would easily make it the most powerful nation in the Middle East aside from Israel.

    • If the USA does go to war with Iran it will have nothing to do with nuclear weapons.

Remember that Iran recently started trading its oil in euros rather than the doomed, debt ridden dollar.

This is the EXACT same reason the US invaded Iraq. The weapons of mass destruction excuse was a blatant lie. Do you guys see a pattern here?

North Korea has tested nuclear weapons and you dont see the US going to war with them... I wonder why.

      Dont you?

That articled does say that Iran started using Euros, and Yen to trade their oil, in RESPONSE to the U.S. sanctions over Iranian nuclear facilities.

Although I don't think thats the reason we are our military wants to attack Iran, that certainly would add fuel to the fire.

    • Countries test missles all the time.

Iran is under threat of sanctions and war, especially by the terrorist state of Israel, for developing nuclear power, which by international law, has a right to do.

Since Israel has been threatening to bomb Iran's nuclear facilities, much like they did Iraq in 1981, is it any wonder why they are testing missiles?
