Yeah... STDs are not caused by lust, folks. STDs are spread by a general lack of sex ed. So it makes perfect sense that the South would be terrible in that area, since people insist that "abstinence only" is the only education we can receive. Not because we have more sex than anyone else.

i dont know some of this seems kind of stupid

huge flaw. these type of stats, especially thefts and violent crimes, don't work on a linear scale. that is, you can't take a per-capita stat of one county and compare it to another. you have to compare similar populated cities or counties against each other. this is kind of ridiculous. and by kind of i mean really. i'm going to go out on a limb here and say this is exactly the reason the majority of the midwest comes up looking as saints or indifferent in almost every category.

This is fun to read and look at, but the way they mapped this together is quite... flawed. If it were my way, most of the country would be in red :D

The Gluttony map seems like it should have way more dark red spots. Maybe base the map on obesity rates in the population instead of rate of food restaurants per population.

I'm very surprised by West Michigan's level of "sin." Detroit, back in the East, is to be expected, but Holland and Grand Rapids don't strike me as earning these statistics.
