No I'd like to see all the health care people get on and explain this.
Explain why I should have to pay for people who have obviously commited a crime, evident by their classification, so they have healthcare and I have less money in my pocket. Less money that I as a legal citizen of the US went out and worked for paid my taxes on and followed the laws of this country. Why the fuck should I have to pay for them. - 2 years ago

Are you also against paying for schools, roads, fire-fighters, police, the military?
There are many things in society that you already pay for through taxes that may not directly benefit you.
But not everything in society is about you so suck it up and accept the fact that if you want to live in a great nation with the best of everything, you may have to pay for it."why should I have to pay for it?" is a tired, hollow and unsubstantial stance to take with matters of tax.
Lump it or leave it. - 2 years ago

Yes to tell ya the truth I am against paying for schools that I have never sent a child too.
Dont even start me on paying for roads. I can see you are new. I am the owner of an 18 wheeler. I pay more in road taxes than you pay in income taxes.
The Fire DEPT in my area is 100% volunteer.
I could care less what happens to the cops. They are corrupt pieces of shit.
I will have no choice but to" suck it up" as you put it.
Taxes are something I have to pay. When you join the ranks of the members of society that actually pay taxes you may understand why I hate to. - 2 years ago

I've already lost one job thanks to the credit crunch and I'll be out of work again just before Christmas so I really could do with the money that I'm paying in income tax, council tax and road tax each month.
After my rent, bills and taxes have been paid each month I'm left with barely enough to get by and usually have to borrow cash to put diesel in my car to get to work at the end of the month.
Whilst at the same time there are girls I went to school with who have left school, had kids, got a flat paid for by the government and probably receive more in government handouts each week than I earn in my 9-5 job. Yes, I'm not happy about that but there are plenty of things in life that simply are not fair and I just have to count my blessings that I've got a job, a house, a lady and happiness. It's been said before but the only thing you can rely on in life is death and taxes, so there's not point in dwelling over them all the time or you'll just be scared and angry, and that's no way to go through life.
I'm not happy about everything my government does with my income tax, and my local council could spend my council tax better but if I'm not seriously going to do anything positive to try and improve how they spend my money then I may as well let them get on with it. I could become more opinionated, got and protest, write angry letters and what not but at the end of the day; I don't know all the details about the economy, health care, public services, education, welfare and the immense complexities that operate day-to-day within an operating government.
Everyone likes to think they're an expert on the topic of Government spendings and this healthcare debate has made everyone opinionated over a subject which only a few people in the world have access to ALL the data.
Getting angry, shouting at authority figures or complaining to my government/council is futile and does nothing to help the situation.
If you really think you can improve how the government spends your money then by all means become a politician and get in there.
I can think of better ways to spend time though. - 2 years ago
