All it will take is a willing right wing Christian Air Force general in Texas with authority over just one nuclear weapon that his faction can use to threaten our Democratic Congress and they will cave in faster then you can say the word "bipartisan ".
Remember the current Texas governor has mentioned secession in his speeches.
The Only Way To Stop Right Wingers is to Prosecute Them when they violate Federal Laws. Start with their heroes, the leaders of the Bush-Cheney Torture Conspiracy and their Torture Memo Lawyers. They do not fear us. They know Dems won't enforce Laws.
SO SIGN the PETITION To PROSECUTE TORTURE

somehow I feel that its like Gore Vidal says, the American people are too stupid to see the problems with America. Sure there are a lot of religious nuts like the Abortion Clinic killers and the ones who would like to kill abortionists. Yet there are just plain religious nuts. But would they commit to a suicidal deed. I think not. So we are left with a long list of various sorts of insanity and just plain idiots. Clear the table and look for instance at the Bush War which is Obama's war now. Bush et al is responsible for the deaths of over 5000 young American kids and he should be labeled a murderer. And he is responsible for thousands of more young kids who will spend a life of being handicapped. There will be thousands of broken homes and families because of these brutal parasites,Yet they are guilty for the deaths of a million or more Iraqi civilians. Should these Bush Killers be permitted to escape the scales of Justice? Many have said that Obama has a constitutional duty to see that the Bush administration is held accountable and if he does not he is just as guilty. Shall our young highschool graduates be forced to die for indigent slaves and peasants from halfway around the world where a civilized government has never existed before. Shall these boys continue to die for a civilization whose laws are still too prehistoric and brutal, such as Sharia Law and honor killings which in any civilized nation is just plain murder. Even in peace, this world runs red with the blood of innocents and has been that way for over two thousand years. As long as the world is ignorant and illiterate and segregated as the Islam and the Zionists there can never be peace, but America can stop sponsoring the bloodshed in this world by stopping payment to Israel and any other uncivilized nation. One thing is sure a coup is not the way to secure this nation but a massive voter indocrination in the constitutional rights and the pathways we can take to restore our constitution and the Republic under the constitution. A massive indoctrination into informing the American people that We must replace the entire congress and Senate and start investigations into those who are known to be corrupt. We should be ready to impeach anyone who has sworn to uphold the constitution and yet has subverted the same. There are many constitution Lawyers who could start proceedings to indict those former servants known to be corrupt. No we do not need a coup, only sane and common sense to reestablish America as a REPUBLIC .

The discussion of this is very interesting,....but pragmatically, an armed military coup makes for great reading and Hollywood blockbusters but not much substance as prognostication. Unfortunately the secret service has to deal with more serious concerns.

Not to say Obama is a tyrant or dictator, he is not. But many men have become that which they preached against to get elected into an office.
There is unrest brewing and it has to do with taking away peoples individual rights by the government.
More people are aware of the changes in Washington than ever before.
Growing the government to Control citizens is happening more quickly in Obama's few months than in Bush's 8 years. At first it was insidious and so people blew it off. With the current congress in power and an "I'll sign anything you guys(congress) put in front of me president the people are scared.
Congress should see this as a wake up call. That's all.
No one wants to see blood shed in the American streets.
This can be handled in a blood-less manner. - 2 years ago

Another great example of conservative insanity. Where do you get the idea that the Government is growing to control citizens? How has Obama done more in 8 months to "grow the government and control citizens" than Bush did?
Its not like theres a huge conspiracy here and you conservatives are the only ones that can see it. Thats a logical fallacy.
On top of that what kind of dangerous laws has this congress passed that you are so afraid of? Hell the healthcare bill that the Senate wants to pass isnt even progressive.

From the start this government as taken control of two major car manufacturers and will tell them what they can and cannot build. Thus removing choices from the American products.Plus they did this to bail out the unions. Read the bill.
This government has bought out with our money several major financial institutions (Fannie, Freddie mac and several banks) and now control that market as well as almost 100% of all loans for housing. And 100% of all student loans, need I go on? The government used my money to bail them out and I still can't get a loan. Sounds simple, it's not.
So if you or I want to go to school or buy a house the government has to approve the loans for you and now with the technology available they will know you down to how many mocha latte's you buy at Starbuck's every week. And that doesn't sound so bad but this will become a power play against people they will call dissidents.Next they want to tell my family WE HAVE TO BUY HEALTH CARE OR WE WILL BE FINED THOUSANDS OF $$$$$.
You are right the bill is not progressive it is for control over us, our choices.
Trust me eventually there will be only ONE health care. (Just like Unison) Barrack and Barney have said that this is what they intend to do as soon as this bill is in!
And wait until you grow old enough to actually need continuous health care, you'll be treated just like those not receiving the swine flu vacs this season. Used to be the elderly and immune comprimized were first in line. Not any more they get it if there's any left AFTER everyone else. The 3- 5 years olds get it first. And if there is a police state it will be the anti-Constitutional, egotistical Congress/Obama group that will do it.

The same people who claim to be Constitution loving patriots are fantasizing about the first violent transfer of power in US history (assassinations aside). They love to use this quote in their defense:
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." ~Thomas Jefferson
Only problem with this particular quote is that there isn't a tyrant that needs bleeding.
TYRANT:
1 a : an absolute ruler unrestrained by law or constitution b : a usurper of sovereignty
2 a : a ruler who exercises absolute power oppressively or brutally b : one resembling an oppressive ruler in the harsh use of authority or powerObama is the freely elected POTUS who has a great deal of popular support for his reform initiatives. He can't write the bill. All he can do is sign it into law. There is nothing tyrannous about him. He's the one who keeps asking for a bill that gets bi-partisan support. The right-wing fear of tyranny stems from something else. Perhaps it is subconscious to them, but they fear the change that Obama represents. And certain boisterous media figures are stoking the flames of hatred and fear to the point that the weak-minded, prejudiced, and fanatic Americans lose their grip on reality and start to see the elected POTUS as a dictator or tyrant.
For those that look to Jefferson for answers:
"Liberty is to the collective body, what health is to every individual body. Without health no pleasure can be tasted by man; without liberty, no happiness can be enjoyed by society." ~Thomas Jefferson
"Mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed." ~Thomas Jefferson
"The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only object of good government." ~Thomas Jefferson
"Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government." ~Thomas Jefferson

I don't understand where the "shredding of the constitution" is coming from. the fact of the matter is that obama is not radical, if anything he's not radical enough, nothing has drastically changed between him and bush and obama as most presidents do will just continue to tow the line. if all these whack jobs have a problem with corruption why didn't this revolution start with bush, clinton, bush, reagan, nixon, etc. just goes to show that with enough stupid impressionable people in this country even fascism can be made into an appealingly patriotic decision. and who exactly would run the government after this coup? glenn beck?

Simply --American nut cases are exiting the closets and the sewers.
YouTube is aflutter with ludicrous charges that Obama is the ANTI-CHRIST.
Who knows what else the bigots will resort to?
Opposition to Obama on policy is one thing. The hysterical hand wringing about his being the 'Anti-Christ' is one that I had not heard since one of my IDIOT neighbors used the term to describe Bill Clinton.
I believe that somewhere in the Bible it says "...by their fruits, ye shall know them!"
Well, by that standard the ludicrous campaign of lies and slanders should be judged for what it is: MASS PSYCHOSIS.
What is most worrisome is that a ruling elite of just one percent of this nation, an elite which, in fact, owns more than some 95 percent of the rest of us combined, will EXPLOIT these KOOKS and I fear to describe the hell that will be paid by all of us when that happens.

These fine upstanding citizens have confused loss of privilege with some imagined loss of Constitutional rights and freedoms. The irony is when they were actually losing their rights they were down on their collective knees paying tribute to the person(s) taking them away in the name of homeland security and alike.
Challenge anyone of them to tell you just one freedom they've lost and they'll stumble, stammer and stutter to find words that don't show their bigotry &/or invoke God and some nonsensical incoherent argument.

Americans have a culture of superior egocentrism and seem to believe they are Gods chosen people. Nothing could be further from the truth. The world outside of America has some pretty potent Brain power. If you read the History of Industrial America, you will find a lot of larceny, conniving and common thievery that gave rise to many US corporations and businesses. Our space program which has gone the way of other American adventures was the product of Hitlers Germany. Jet Aircraft was first used in Germany. Russia gave birth to the Helicopter through Igor Sikorsky. You may have heard of Colonel Billy Mitchell who proved to the US goernment that Aviation was the next generation of war machinery and hew even predicted the Japanese invasion and for that his superiors, General MacArthur and the West Point generals court Marshalled him, reduced him to a Captain and destroyed his Character. So it is and has been with America. Robert Goddard our first Space pioneer needed funds to continue his rochetry experiements but the Government wouldn't help but they were willing to steal Germanies plans. And Claim that America is the Father of space travel. Where would we be if it were not for Werner Von Braun? Americans wake up an look at your selves in the mirror. Do you see any brains there? I think not you will probable see an IPod or a cell phone all made in China or Japan. We are living a big lie. As for our congress keeping us straight, you are dreaming again. They cannot even see to pass a decent civilized health plan to ease our pain. Our congress is a worthless as the T.. s on a bull. Thjey cannot even impeach a worthless tub of scum like the three lieing thieving musquiteers, George Bush, Dick Cheney and Donnie Rumsfeld. They could have impeached these criminals but were to scared to try.So how do you expect that Obama will save us when he hasn't even made an effort to repeal the Bush era agenda and a myriad of other things he promiised to change. Its OK to give him time but at this rate he will still be awaiting his first change in eight years. One thing is certain, with the corruption in Washington don't expect those Congressmen or Senators give anything away to the American Public. They are in control and will not cede a bit of constitutional rights to us the people. They are sworn to uphold and protect the constitution and yet they have no respect for the constitution or the people it was meant to protect. I fear we will never have the protection of this document, a legacy of our founding fathers.

Where were all you Right-wing Constitutionists when the Bush signed the Military Commissions Act, suspending Habeus Corpus and most of the Bill of Rights? Where we you when the legal framework for Gitmo was established?? Where were you when the White House outted an covert CIA agent for political purposes?? Where were you when Bush lied to us about Iraq's WMDs during the State of The Union?? Where were you on the no-bid defense contracts that subplanted real military jobs at ten times the cost to US taxpayers? Where were you on Warrantless Wire-Tapping??? Where were you when our ports and infrastructure were being auctioned off to the UAE?? It is a stark contradiction in terms and an oxymoran to threaten a military coup to defend the Constitution. The Constitiution and the Military Code of Conduct won't allow a Coup. We have a civilized governmental structure. Our Military has more discipline than that. A privatized uprising would be squashed immediatley. This is Right Wing outrage of convienence. So, when you are through tongue-kissing the flag, beating-off to Sarah Palin's new book and dry-fucking the cardboard tube that your new copy of the Constitution came in, remember, those guns in your closet won't give you a bigger johnson. Any person making threats or encouraging acts of violence against the standing president of the United States of America should be brought up on charges of sedition, conspiracy and treason. Case closed.
As a veteran, I find it personally offensive that somebody would use the freedom of speech to incite the easily-persuaded sector of the population to act against their duly elected officials. You people had better wake up because if this kind of rhetoric goes unchecked we could find ourselves in a national level of civil unrest not seen since the late 1850s.

All the issues facing us as a nation can be solved without violence of any kind, and articles such as this one serve as a red herring to incite fear among the population. In times like these, even whites on the right could behoove themselves to take a little lesson in non-violent, peaceful dissent from Dr. King.
Information is so quickly transmitted today over the internet and can be difficult to disseminate. Putting it all in perspective is a tall order for anyone, and when we let our fear lead us in our understanding, it is easy to miss the simplest solution. - 2 years ago

My fear is a 'private military' (Blackwater) coup. If Blackwater is prosecuted for their crimes, would they lend a hand to a military coup. Blackwater answers to no one. They have military equipment, which rivals our public military. Would it be our military against theirs?
Can the right-wing afford to hire Blackwater, for their own crusade? Yes! The Military Industrial Complex has made a lot of money off the wars started during the Bush years. Blackwater even has drones.
A military coup would not be pretty. War on American soil is not the answer. The right lost, cause they were wrong. They can't take our country by force. We vote in America. I hope President Obama is using the Patriot Act, to pursue home grown terrorists. Those who suggest a military coup, are home grown terrorists! Lock them up, before they cause a un-civil war on American soil.

I beg to differ slarabee. They do have enough military equipment to 'think' they could do it. They have spent their money on military might, ready to fight.
I'm afraid people will be too complacent to take action, before an un-civil war starts. After it is started would be too late. Who would have thought we would have started a war with a country, which had not killed one American and who were not openly threatening us. If they had killed one American, or been threatening us, George W. would not have felt the need to use fixed facts.
The 'Downing Street Memo' was real. They knew! Yet, they didn't stop it! Who would stop these guys?
I truly hope this is false. For if it is true, be afraid, be very afraid. These right-wing loons scare the shit out of me. George W. scared the shit out of me. I'm tired of being afraid. Overthowing a corrupt, treasonous government isn't a treasonous act. It's a patriotic one. If our government doesn't quit severing us from our Constitutional, and basic HUMAN rights, a revolution will be of their own doing. Not some right wing extremists.
Everyone is a citizen, and human being. The threat of a revolution, military, or otherwise, is a problem for those who are currently running the government. To solve it, they polarize citizens against one another, using such words as right wing, left wing, conservative, liberal, hippy, black, white, man, woman, etc.
Once we begin to function as a single cell of human beings, desiring basic human, and civil rights, those who have thrust tyranny upon us will be very sorry indeed.
