Health care workers in Hauppauge screamed "No forced shots!" as they rallied Tuesday against the state regulation requiring them to roll up their sleeves.

"I don't even tend to the sick. I am in the nutrition field. They are telling me I must get the shot because I work in a health clinic setting," said Paula Small, a Women, Infants and Children health care worker.

Small said she will refuse, worried the vaccine is untested and unproven, leaving her vulnerable. In 1976, there were some deaths associated with a swine flu vaccination.

Registered nurse Frank Mannino, 50, was also angry. He said the state regulation violates his personal freedom and civil rights.

    • doctors handling out anti depressants like they were candy, jobs requiring flu shots, drugs for every hiccup and burp sold on TV. Are we heading for a drug induced society? I oppose the flu vaccine but what if we had a break out of ebola or something worse?

    • dont wear condoms either, who is anyone to tell you you dont have a right to get aids.
      its not about anyones civil liberties its about not waking up one day and finding that you have no job or food because the people required for it are dead.
      your inconvinience is more important than society at large?
      repeal drunk driving laws cuz my right to drive drunk supercedes the right of the people i kill

    • This is bullshit! I never take flu shots, it is a fact that there are too many strains at any given time so there is no guarantee that it will protect you, it can backfire.
      Boosting your immune system is a way better option to fight illness and fall season is the best time to start!
