Gun displays are a fixture of police news conferences everywhere, allowing cops to pose for television cameras and tout weapons they've taken off the streets and marked for destruction.

On Saturday in Colorado Springs, police carefully laid out 81 confiscated guns in a conference room. This time, cameras were prohibited, and the only people permitted inside were potential buyers.

    • the guns sold to gun dealers who will register them when sold. a criminal doesn't want a registered gun, obviously. gun dealers are heavily scrutinized by the police and atf and would never sell a unregistered gun. i have a story{oh really} about just that. i had several guns on consignment at a gun store in santa barbara calif., an off duty cop who worked there part time made an illegal transaction for his own profit, without the stores knowledge. the atf came in confiscated every gun and shut the store for months. that was 3 years ago and iv'e never got the guns back. that makes the point and i get to gripe too.

    • I beleave every one should have a choice to go to collage or join the milatery after they get out of school. That would help curb the juvanile crime and help to further the youth of America. The fact that most get into trouble at a youg age do to lack of guidance. both at home and school. I bet your wondering what this has to do with the gun issue I think alot. One must know the conquences of owning a hand gun. that is something that needs to be taught by a professional . Like a drill sargent or a responsible parent.such as I was. not the drill sargent but the parent in my case.
