Christiane Oliveri helps her son Michael by performing reflexology on his feet. Michael Oliveri, 25, is in a wheel chair due to muscular dystrophy. After trying numerous medications in search for relief from tremendous pain, he tried medical marijuana, which he says miraculously improved his quality of life. So much so that he left his family and friends in New Jersey to live in California, where his medications are legal and accessible. • The gov. says he'll sign it? GREAT!!!

I guess you have to crawl before you walk. If it came to a choice of legal cannabis for those that need it medically, as opposed to those of us that just want to get the buzz; then the folks that need it HAVE to come first. That would be only humane.

But more and more I'm starting to resent the prohibion for recreational use. The idea being presented is that there's something wrong with that; and there's not. The law enforcement problems quoted in the article are caused by the prohibition. It's the result of doing a thing half ass. If the prohibition was repealed, the dealers would have no one to sell to.

But I guess we're lucky we've come as far as we have. Medical marijuana should be a given. You don't prosecute people for trying to relieve their pain and suffering. THAT is cruel and unusual punishment.

It's good to see you back Jersey. Hang in there guy.

    • you people dont get it. the so called drug war or as I like to call it is a war on working americans to separate them from their posessions, home, cars, money, ect. The prison guards make money, cops make more money, judges and lawyers make lots of bucks also. The drug companies dont want cannabis legal because it would bankrupt them. therefore its all about splitting the money at the expense of broken families, ruined reputations and total control of the populace. Its a war on citizens ,nothing to do with drugs. Our country is no longer home of the free, its a home to the persecuted! freedom is gone in the name of the war on drugs.

    • I can not understand it caver. People are not outraged by alcohol.I am in my position due to alcohol abuse and drug abuse. I would not advocate for something that harms people. In this case the law and discrimination are the one causing harm.
