Mexico's authorities say tourism has remained strong despite the escalating drug war. Cities along the border have been hit particularly hard, including Tijuana. Surely though, they must be thinking of perceptions of the region with tourists to the north, and hoping that this new task force will help.
Been to Mexico lately? Tell us about it - did you feel safe?

So is it going to cost me more money when I get in trouble? Can I still bribe them with cash or do I need to bring more playboys and Marbaros with me ?

My grandfather was apart of a bilingual task force in Juarez back in the day.
You're not far off from the truth Ares.
My uncle got arrested one time when a cop planted evidence on him like 20 years ago. He didn't have money for a bribe so they took him in. He didn't get a phone call and it took 5 days of him missing before my grandma went down there looking for him. She new the chief at the station from when my grandfather worked with them, and thank god for that cause they just let him go.
Its a good thing personal amounts are decriminalized, but they are still gonna get their bribes somehow. I would maybe go to Cancun, but Juarez is way too lawless.

I feel perfectly safe in Mexico and Tijuana. Even better now that all of the drunken American college students are to scared to go.
