This appears to be too difficult to maintain.......
because we only do easy stuff.
I'm hoping there's a much deeper story here, because on the surface it sounds really, really inane.

The new "Oakland-Bay Bridge" set to be completed in 2013, for 6.6 billion dollars, which was damaged in the 1989 earthquake,...is made from local labor, and all parts of the bridge are shipped in from overseas. So far they have found the new bridge to be made of "recycled concrete" which will limit the life of the bridge by 50 years, faulty welds from pre-manufactured parts made in China......our great new "American" bridge,.....made in China will be the equivalent of something manufactured for/by McWal-Mart. It is easier this way, because there will be no one to sue if the bridge ever fails,...just a whole mess of finger pointing and faulty investigations that go nowhere.

and that becomes a matter of poor oversight.
the same for any of us on our jobs.
but you've hit one point squarely - sue.responsibility for the quality and integrity of a product has to fall somewhere. we talk about tort reform but no one wants to talk about the ultimate responsibility when things go wrong.

excellent excellent excellent.
it took awhile but it was worth the watch.
now......
to everyone who ever thought that there is or ever will be again in the future, ANY product or service that can be 100% american, canadian, russian, japanese, whatever, i believe that the definitive term for that would be 'bullshit'.
we live in an age (and have for quite some time) that is globally interactive. what we do here and now does effect the entire world and vice-versa......
thanks MM.
