VIDEO: Police Beat 15yr old Special Ed Student For Untucked Shirt

KSirys
DOLTON, Ill. (CBS) A 15-year-old student was walking down a hallway at school when he says a police officer grabbed him and threw him to the ground. But that’s not all. The teenager says he was beaten and nearly suffocated. He told his story to CBS 2 Investigator Dave Savini.

Security cameras captured the beating of a 15-year-old Special Education student by a police officer. Marshawn Pitts says the officer started shouting and swearing at him because his shirt wasn’t tucked in.

“I was tucking my shirt in,” Pitts said.

    • This is just a reflection of what cops do every day. They dole out punishments in accordance to how much they "like" you. You see it on cops every time. "you lie to me and you get no break" etc. You act like you don't like them and they pile up the charges. Confirming they get off on "power" and confirming that they are "above the law" to feed their egos. If you are either black or white, and you don't pretend to like them, or don't talk to them etc, you get screwed. Does anyone really believe that women don't do crime? Women only make up about 1/10 of the jail population. And maybe about 1/10 of the police force.

    • At least this cop was in the right place, a place for people with disabilities, cause this cop is retarded. I actually think that most of the people actually attending school there with mental disabilities wouldn't even do this. This guy needs to get fired, sued, and put in jail.

    • This is outrageous and terrible...people with anger issues and with mental issues who are appointed to protect our communities are, themselves, a danger to our communities.

    • How can you be taught the lies of Newton, Darwin and Einstein if you you're shirt isn't tucked in? When Ritalin fails, there's always the "the face-down takedown."

    • Wow.....I feel so bad for that kid. Seriously. That pig needs to get raped 'American History X' style every day for the rest of his life for this and the other crap he's gotten away with.....like murder! No, I take that back. Death. Eye for an eye. Life for a life. Especially in his case, and the city should pay for that kid's college education. Maybe then everyone will be even.

    • probable cause for a crime....?
      untucked shirt...?
      shameful

I always believe cops should go through a legal training session so they know how to enforce laws that are real and not the made up ones in their pig-heads.

    • As a police officer I can NOT understand why this killer was even let near students! If I ever did something like this the other officers I work with would "beat the stuffin outa me!" Stupid punks, giving the rest of us a bad name...

You know damn well you would and do abide by your blue code of silence, JUST LIKE THE REST OF THE PIGS IN THAT CITY DID. You have no guilt as you ruin peoples' lives over their choice of smokes etc. That's why I call people who do your job pigs.

Skull, i hope you're not like him and hope you continue to come around and share your views. But i know a lot of folks here have a hatred for cops because of the things they get away with. I myself can't stand cops! but i do have friends that are cops and respect them, because i know they would never do the shit I see on the web.

Again, I hope you're not the same and wish you the best!

Maybe it is because I am from a different part of the country or something, but I don't know a single officer personally, not saying they do not exist just that I don't know of them, who would tolerate this kind of crap! We HAD an officer who punched a lady in the face while he was defending his wife from her... THAT WAS EXCESSIVE FORCE! He is fired and the DA is pressing charges for professional misconduct as well as excessive use of force. The entire PD is pissed that he has brought such a bad rep on us!

MOST police officers are no worse than most of you, they do not (legally) have a choice about what laws they enforce so even if they agree that smoking a little weed is ok, they are bound by the law to enforce it.

Watching this video makes me so SICK i was forced to create an account here to respond. Have been reading for a year and this was the final straw! Bring that punk down south for a few days...

He shot that man 24 times? Even with a 9mm he would have had to reload 1/2 way through! @!#%(*$@#!$ this pisses me off... Punks like this can put on a BADGE? and I thought the Oklahoma HP that tried to choke the ambulance commander pissed me off!

Just remember that there are hundreds of thousands of cops in the US, you are only hearing about the 0.0001% who SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED TO TOUCH A BADGE!

Oh and JollyGoodFelon, lol your response indicates your intellectual deficit, I have no need to address your "rant", I am not interested in playing a battle of wits against an unarmed "felon"

I'm calling bullshit again on you skulldragger. You are not required by law to be a pig in the first place. You signed your integrity away on the dotted line. Why in the hell do you think you can be believed? Do you think we don't see "cops" and the rest of it every day? Lying is part of your routine. Most of you are ex military who signed their lives away on the dotted lines too then "were required" to do whatever your "superiors" tell you. Probably including boot-licking. What compels some to sign their lives away in such manner? Likely you have no real skills to compete with in the real world. Or you have such low self confidence you had to sell out in this way. For you to doubt my wit is completely laughable. You have no skills, but I can do anything, (and I do). I can out wit you in almost any arena. Tell me what part of the country you live and I will show you a corrupt police department. And I don't give a shit about the guy who punched a psycho bitch. I am kinda ok with that. But let's face it she probably wasn't a psycho bitch, you can't trust anything a pig says. HA

Funny is how you claim to be "brave" and that you "put your lives on the line" HA again. You are the furthest profession from brave there is. You don't do anything without "backup" and you know damn well you shoot to kill anything with a shiny object who doesn't pretend to like you.

    • oh wait i guess he is in jail now? probably in protective custody...this is what the article said about the Cop..

The Chicago Tribune-backed service adds: "A lawsuit filed by his ex-wife, Nicole McKinney, last summer alleges he gunned down her new husband Cornel McKinney in front of their children outside their home on the 6100 block of South Langley Avenue on Feb. 17, 2008."

An autopsy revealed Lloyd shot the man 24 times, the agency found. He was not jailed at the time as Chicago police accepted his explanation that the killing was in self-defense.

Ladybug, DreSandoval has a point... Why doesn't Obama say something when the youth of America gets beat or shot for no reason? Is he only behind people of power? Only behind scholars? or the rich?

Obama should say something and tell the police to calm down and relearn their job. To rethink the situation before thinking it's ok to kill someone or attack them because they "look" suspicious.

I understand Dre's point and he's right. Someone in a position of power needs to point out this stuff when it happens. Especially when it happens to those without power, unlike a Harvard professor. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad someone called those cops on Dr. Gate's incident, but I'd like to see the same here. This asshole cop seems like he's looking to hurt quite a few people.

I'd like to know why Obama hasn't cured AIDS yet or raised the dead. Just when us this so-called "change agent" going to make all the earth's water clean? And what about the scarcity of parking places? Obama this and Obama that, and still no results on changing the earth's orbit to fix global warming. I'm beginning to regret voting for him, the big fraud.

WTF why would you assault any child in school unless they have some form of weapon or intend to harm others? Let alone a special needs student. Yea, this isn't the nineteenth century anymore, and i think many conclusive studies demonstrate that hitting children may be detrimental to their emotional health, IQ and learning, to name a few aspects. I'm sure this poor kid made a lot of sense out of being randomly assaulted by your school police officer, while walking through the hallways.

The pigs have too much power and I am so sick of seeing stories about them tasering students or old women, for real??? You are a grown man, you can't take on a 70 year old? I need to go listen to some pink floyd, animals.
