I hope there are enough to fully man the field while everyone else (who is straight) stays the hell out of the services. That should make everyone here happy!

He said in his speech that "people should be able to live their lives the way they see fit" Guess he meant as long as you are smoking dicks and not joints. And this was the first speech in a long long time where I didn't see him reading it like George Bush. I was impressed with his robotics this time. Of course it was just lip service as usual. I am not fooled.

Gays have served in every military ever. If you really think gays are somehow less aggressive or capable then you are not only a bigot but youre an idiot.

What part of "they were in every army ever" do you not understand? Theres no point to take them out of the army. Its not logical.

The red cross will not use blood from anyone who has had gay sex from 1977 up. Look it up on the site. If I were gay and you knew it, would you use my blood? Im A pos.

you're right, i should specifically ask, should i ever need to receive blood, that it's not "gay blood." it just might turn me full blown lesbian instead of just bi, and then i'd have to leave my future husband.

Yeah. Why would anyone want gay blood? I'm sure any sane person would just rather die.

Yeah, the red blood cells would just hook up with other red blood cells and it would cause too much clotting.

Finally he speaks about it. I am curious what he has to say about the other issues.
To be honest I havent been so upset with what he and this congress have done so far. Yes he has moved EXTREMELY, and too slow, on DADT. But he and Congress have extended hate crimes to protect gays, and also protection in the Federal government for jobs.
About the blood issue, thats a lame issue. Gay people always give blood, and the blood is tested anyways. Its an old system that needs to be revised.

That is a problem, gay men, or women can not give blood, to be used on the battle grounds. Not fair to the wounded.

Even the RED CROSS will not take blood due to gay sex anytime after 1977. If they can not give blood to another soldier, they should not be in the battle.

The fact of the matter is that any blood donated is rigorously screened for just about everything hazardous, including HIV (which everyone knows is not strictly a gay disease), so there's no real need to keep homosexuals from donating blood. It's just another inane policy.

Also if you get something bad overseas, that will be your new home. I hope you are in a country that dont kill gays out right. The USA may put up with that lifestyle, but you will be killed if found out in alot of places around the world. Think, before you join as a gay. Just sayn the facts.

Great dodge. Way to not prove anything.
What the hell kind of tangent are you going off on? Other countries are irrelevant to the policy being discussed. But while you've brought it up, are you saying it's routine practice for the military to just leave its soldiers in foreign countries? Man. What a shitty country. One donates their life to it, and how do they get thanked? By being left in a foreign and potentially hostile land where they may not know the language and they're separated from everyone they know and care about? Either you're peddling some severe falsehoods, or you just made the US military look far worse than I ever could.

larry, barring the remote possibility of contracting aids while dying on the battlefield, do you support gays in the military and equal rights under the law in general?

WRONG. gay women can donate blood, however gay men cannot due to health risks. Whether or not this is fair is debatable.
