For those who feel that what Representative Alan Grayson had to say to Congress in recent days about the number of uninsured dying is untrue, here are the facts from the horses mouth. The horse being some of the most intelligent and researching minds in our country.

Nearly 45,000 annual deaths are associated with lack of health insurance, according to a new study published online today by the American Journal of Public Health. That figure is about two and a half times higher than an estimate from the Institute of Medicine (IOM) in 2002.

The study, conducted at Harvard Medical School and Cambridge Health Alliance, found that uninsured, working-age Americans have a 40 percent higher risk of death than their privately insured counterparts, up from a 25 percent excess death rate found in 1993.

The American Journal of Medicine is one of the most influential journals in biology and medicine. Harvard Medical School is currently ranked first among American research medical schools by U.S. News and World Report. Shall I go on??????

    • Amazing this story is still in the top 20. Only 89 views when I clicked on and only 8 responses before this one. Added to DNC propaganda group for obvious reasons. Maybe I should start a Current propaganda group. This one would make it for sure.

      EDIT:

Added to Current propaganda group for obvious reasons

Not propaganda, just facts. Oh, would you like it better if I put something up that mentioned Ron Paul or the freakin Federal Reserve? Then would it be credible or worth your time? Go hate something else.

    • 45,000 deaths is just not enough to get the conservatives to feel bad enough about unnecessary deaths to get them to support healthcare reform. They are just too greedy to want to help anyone with their tax money. Their idea is to put off healthcare reform (kill it) so they can get it right (do nothing), the same as they have been doing for decades. They prefer to Eliminate all government healthcare programs like Medicare and Medicaid and let the poor “Die Quickly”. Keeping their tax dollars to themselves is FAR more important to them than the lives of the poor.
