TAKE AMERICA BACK - - FIRE CONGRESS

Image
akamaial
Let's start off with some eternal truths.

-> One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

-> Those 545 human beings spend a lot of their energy (we call it campaigning after they've been elected.) convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party. And most of the media cooperates as well.

-> Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them. Then they either make them worse or find a way to make sure the cure is worse than the original problem so that the cure also becomes a problem. That way, they can lie about what they've been doing to stave off the original problem.

-> You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does. And congress authorizes the expenditures and the taxes to pay for them. Remember this always. Governments have no monies nor wealth that they don't first take from their subjects.

-> You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. Then the Senate is supposed to discuss and adjust those appropriations, not rubber stamp them. Of course, Senators are no longer beholden to the State Governments because they're popularly elected just like their Representative neighbors so they've become just another spending body. That's how elections are won. Buy the votes with their own monies collected through taxes they have no voice in controlling.

-> You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does. Them with the money makes the rules.

-> You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does. (occasionally, if the Federal Bank isn't looking.)

-> You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does. (which is another can of worms entirely - that problem was created by Congress in 1913)

-> No (intelligent) normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker of the House to stand up and criticize a President for creating deficits.
The Constitution, the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.
The President only proposes a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it and he doesn't appropriate monies.

-> It is the speaker of the House, the leader of the majority party, and fellow House members, not the president, who approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they can manage to agree to.

-> There are no insoluble government problems except those Congress wishes to ignore and perpetuate.

-> It seems inconceivable that a nation of 300 million has not yet replaced a mere 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. There is not a single domestic problem that is not directly traceable to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist. It would seem self evident.

-> Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible. They, and they alone, have the power. They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses. Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees. We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

-> Never vote for an incumbent. Throw'em all out. The very few honest ones will have no trouble finding honest work. The rest can go on welfare.

    • Just firing the congress will not do any good, it is necessary to get rid of everybody from the president down to the lowly congressmen. And then raid the CFR heasdquarters and arrest all of them ad snd them to some dungeon for life. And that would only be a start. The corruption runs too deep to cover it all. It may be better to start with local and state corruption and then join together to clean up Washington and Wall street. good luck.

    • Most incumbents get elected year after year after year because they are from districts that give them a landslide. Most Congressmen from competitive districts only serve a few terms.

Nancy Pelosi isn't an eleven term Congresswoman because she's a corrupt bitch. She's an eleven term Congresswoman because she is from California's eighth district, which encompasses San Francisco. She hasn't gotten under seventy percent of the vote there.

My Congressman, Adam Schiff, has been in office since 2002. Since then, he hasn't gotten under sixty percent of the vote. Because my district is drawn so that the Democrats have a clear advantage. The city I live in is actually evenly split between both major parties, but it's in the same district as Democrat-heavy areas.

This is why Congress is dominated by an "old guard" that keeps getting re-elected. Ending gerrymandering at a state level is a better solution than term limits, which put an unnecessary cap on the choice of the people.

    • Truth IS simply a inconvenient concept to the Leftist (liberal progressive) mind.

Today’s Left pretty much stands for nothing—not freedom, not equal opportunity; not individual rights; not even peace. Trying to right the wrongs and injustices of the world is truly ethical and noble goal, but something happened on the road to that beautiful utopia

Every issue supported by the Left, and almost all of the behavior exhibited by the Left is completely antithetical to classical liberal philosophies. There is no longer a commitment to personal liberty or to freedom. The Left is far too busy to promote freedom for the common man or woman, because their time is taken up advocating freedom for tyrants who oppress the common man; terrorists who kill the common man; and religious fanatics who subjugate the common woman.

The intellectuals who once promoted the IDEA of freedom, now are ensnared in an IDEOLOGY that depends for its very existence on the silencing of speech; the suppression of ideas; and the persecution of those who dare to refute its tenets.

What we have witnessed over the 30- 45 years since the Left ascended to dominate political thought in the mid 20th century, is its rapid and unprecedented decline into wholesale intellectual and moral bankruptcy.

Where once they stood for freedom; they now enable dictatorships and apologize for tyrants. Where once they sought to bring justice to the world; they now defend horrific acts of mass murder and enslavement. Where once they rightly demanded equal opportunity, they have embraced all kinds of racial quotas and discriminatory practices and demand equality of outcome. Where once they sought to empower the weak; they are now instrumental in maintaining and expanding their victimhood.

After all, how can you be a “champion of the oppressed” unless you maintain and nurture an oppressed class that will always require your services to help them?

It is useless to point out, for example, that trillions of dollars have already been spent on helping the poor and the disadvantaged in this country. What has resulted in the long run from that effort? We have given people fish to eat, but we haven’t taught them how to go fishing.

Someday, it will occur to someone that the Left has not had a single new idea for over half a century and that none of the “great” programs they have created have actually worked. Yet they guard those programs jealously, afraid of any new ideas or approaches that might make them have doubts in their precious ideology.

Instead of reducing poverty, they have created a class of people dependent on the government for their survival and thus they ensure continuing poverty—even through the generations. Motivation is destroyed. Self-respect is trashed. Victimhood and passivity become a way of life whose worse aspects are glorified in the music and culture of the newly created welfare class.

There are those of us who view the situation differently and who think that we should try some new approaches to these old, enduring problems. And, SURPRISE! - We are not "evil oppressors." Indeed, we rightfully think of ourselves as liberators; our goals are empowerment of the individual and a decrease in the power of the maternalistic/paternalistic state.

Neither the rational Right nor the rational Left have exclusive rights to Truth or Justice, but at the present Truth to the Left is an inconvenient deterrence (unless it will serve an end believed to justify the means) that must carefully be maneuvered to obscure their clandestine purposes.

"If a Leftist is speaking the truth about something, it's only because he's in step-back mode, collecting the gullible in preparation for his next go at utopia."...anonymous

    • "...and how do you know that is factual? You've only expressed what you think may be so, as you have no experienced "model" from which to do anything other than to extrapolate a possibility...."

It's a fact that 400 of the 435 districts are "safe" for one party or another.

    • "...and you know this how, young man?"

If you term limit Congressmen, you'll still most likely get the same party makeup. Ninety-one percent of districts are "safe" for one party or another. In these districts, a candidate will get over sixty percent of the vote in most cases.

Even if we term limit politicians, every election will still be a landslide for the Democrats in my district. The real solution to this problem is ending gerrymandering, reforming the system at the state level.

My favorite method is the splitline algorithm, which draws districts that are impartial to party, race, religion, etc. Will there still be safe districts? Yes. Will there be four-hundred of them? Probably not.

Plus, term limits put a cap on professionalism and the choice of the people. Term limits will only treat the symptoms, not the disease.

1)We need term limits, 12 years max.
      2) we need turnover of the bureaucrats also. With term limits the guys behind congress will only get more power.
3)install a second place voting system to allow third, fourth and more parties to participate
4)take steps to insure gridlock, Truth is gridlock is good. Laws and legislation should be difficult to pass to insure they get it right and Americans will benifit not the right or left. We have so many laws on the books no one really knows what the hell is going on.
5)penelties for corruption or the like are so severe it scares them shitless to do anything that might be taken as impropoer
6)take steps to insure the federal government is one of a guiding role not the lead role. States should have more say

and who is working to restore your rightful claim to the values that once made America great.

The Taboo Party advocates voting for all Challengers to Incumbents to break their stranglehold over the lives of hard-working, dedicated Americans who still believe in the Constitution, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as the Founding Fathers intended.

Reclaim your heritage and join the efforts of The Taboo Party to “Throw All Bums Out of Office”.

    • plusaf:

      +af;
The $787 billion stimulus bill the president signed into law in March represented a 26.2 percent increase over federal spending in 2008. This does not include the omnibus appropriations bill for the second half of fiscal year 2009, the remaining $350 billion of the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) or any other public monies deemed necessary to aid the recovery effort. The total increase in federal spending from 2008 to 2009 is projected to be the largest percentage increase since the Korean War. The 2009 federal budget deficit is expected to be $1.84 trillion. As a per-centage of gross domestic product (GDP), this is the largest budget deficit since the end of World War II.
The effectiveness of fiscal stimulus depends on the “multiplier effect,”which holds that an increase in government spending will yield a multiple increase in aggregate spending by the individuals and businesses that receive the money. For its stimulus package, the Obama administration is assuming a multiplier of 1.5.

That is, for every $1 of additional government spending, GDP will increase $1.50. However, an analysis of data on federal outlays and GDP for fiscal years 1947-2007 shows that the multiplier coefficient is 0.46, meaning that a dollar’s worth of additional federal government spending yields about 50 cents worth of additional GDP.

Assuming that 75 percent of the $787 billion in stimulus money will be spent in 2009 and 2010, as the Obama administration expects, and that all the monies will stimulate the economy — for example, a dollar’s worth of food stamps has the same impact on GDP as a dollar’s worth of road construction — the result is:
-> The $300 billion in stimulus spending in 2009 will yield about $138 billion or 1 percent of additional GDP.
-> This is less than one-fifth of the decline in annual GDP as a result of the recession, most recently estimated to be about $938 billion.
-> More realistically, if only half of the monies are spent in 2009 and 2010 and only about half of the spending is stimulative, it will yield $47 billion in additional output, which is roughly 5 percent of the GDP lost in the recession.

If the federal budget deficit is on the order of $1 trillion per year for 2010-2012, as the Obama administration has signaled, the federal debt will total approximately $15 trillion by the end of 2012, and it will more
or less equal 100 percent of GDP.
The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) asserts that government borrowing to service this debt will tend to reduce the stock of productive capital. In their judgment, the stimulus bill actually will lead to a lower rate of growth in 2012 and subsequent years. After a decade, according to the CBO, national output will be lower than if no stimulus bill had been passed.

A principal justification for the huge fiscal intervention in the economy is to reverse the decline in employment. However, a 1 percentage-point increase in the rate of economic growth is associated with a decline in the unemployment rate of only 0.12 percentage points.
Thus, it will take several years of vigorous economic growth to return to a 5 percent unemployment rate.
With sluggish growth, it could take many years.

P.S. - Seen any real significant growth out there lately?

Ah, so now you wish to keep the status quo, you perceive that your "team" is in control, and to change the players you socialosts might lose that "edge" eh?
And again you infer that opposition to clandestine maneuvers to impose excessive tax revenues under any guise to be anti-tax, when in fact what is wanted is fiscal responsibility with existing tax revenues.

Of course I'm happy " my team" is in power , that's why I voted for them. Do I think in your heart you are anti tax? Yes I do actually, I've read enough of your posts, long winded as many of them are, and they consist of one theme and one theme alone, that being an endless litany of complaints, one complaint after another,. All with a doomsday conclusion, and that does tend to make one weary after awhile.
We get it, you didn't vote for Obama and you are angry that the election didn't end the way you wanted, that doesn't mean western civilization as we now know it will come to an end for Christ sake.
Get over it and get on with life. Obviously I don't know you personally, and with that being said, if you are as unhappy and frustrated as your posts would indicate, I feel as a fellow human being I want to offer you a suggestion, ..go to the movies, take a vacation, listen to some of your favorite music, go out and enjoy a meal and try a comedy club or perhaps an art gallery. You can believe this, the world has not come to an end because the Republican party no longer is in the white house..really man, relax already.

    • Why do we need a congress? For the past 9 years they have failed to miserably rid the government of the most corrupt administration since its conception. Since the main purpose of the congress has been to tack on pork and plenty of it. Let the states handle their business and rid the US congress. One good intelligent President can run this nation effectively and effeciently. To make the government more effecient then replace the Federal Reserve with our own Central Bank and shed the corrupt Federal Banking system. Senators are not worth their weight in manure get rid of them. With all of the extra space in washington rent the facilities to help pay for the national debt.Return education back to the states. The Supreme Court is too loyal to the party who put them in place. Fire all supreme Court Judges and hire the best qualified non political and non biased. This will eliminate more crooked and corrupt legal representation. Hire a non political man, an Economist to lead the country. A non political president can be controlled by the people easier than the total corrupt Congress and Senate and the Legislative and executive Branch. Congressmen and Senators are not the only ones who are corrupt in Washington. There is enough to go around many times. Vote for a complete change.

      So which one are you?
Sure we could replace them all, to what end? Why would their replacements conduct business any differently?
Rather than spend so much time and energy cataloging all your complaints propose something better, find donors to finance your ideas and convince the entire nation that you have all the answers.
Educate the nation as to how the entire system can be torn apart without financial chaos and then describe how the armed forces, FDA, all the ports, customs, border patrol, and everything else that the nation funds will operate without taxes being collected, or a governing body planning and implementing a budget. No tax code, no money coming from any citizen in the form of a tax. Please tell us how that works and give us an example on this planet of a first world nation that runs it's society without taxes.

the problem runs deeper then the 545 sitting in office...

the whole system needs to be looked at and returned to its roots...

first off, get rid of the two party joke... it is a violation of the constitution

purge the media and hold them responsible for news, and hold them to account for any and all the propaganda they all spew.

remove corporate owner ship of news media outlets.
      remove corporate lobby groups
remove corporate "person" laws and protections.

And start prosecuting corporations for all the wonderful laws they love to violate. Like that wonderful privet military they all seem to be building. Or how about that wonderful war profiteering. And lets not forget all those lovely no bid contracts.

Next up, make ear marking all funds mandatory. That way you can know what the hell the government is wasting your tax money on.

And do not forget to destroy the illegal personal piggy bank of a few rich asshats, known as the federal reserve. There is nothing federal about this criminal group of clowns.

How about the privet club, the council on foreign relations, and lets not forget obama is a member.

That would be a good start… but there is so much more to do… like the rouge CIA needs a leash put on it. And lets not forget all the unconstitutional bushian laws. The (un) patriot (ic) act. The FISA laws, the RFID programs they are pushing. The department of homeland security. Sounds like the Nazi parties mother land crap to me.

But eh, its you country… fix it if you want… the rest of the world has lost respect of what was once a great nation, full of ideas and hope. And is today the modern Rome, on its last legs trying to die with a roar… but there is no air left in its ravaged lungs. Let us hope, the people take back their country and restore it to the beacon of hope and inspiration it once was.

Think Byrd, Kennedy, ... they never leave, until they die. Aides carry Byrd in, it takes three people and a walker with wheels. And then when they see the end they have the gall to suggest their replacement.
The only time they volunteer to leave is when they move to the next level. Like Our beloved gov. Casey... oh, but wait his son's here to fill the gap.

I would say the party of 'no' should be the first to go. I voted knowing I wanted Democratic leadership for a while. We have lived through the last 8 years, with Republicans calling the shots. I want to see what we can do with Democrats in the majority. In fact a super majority.

The party of 'no' is doing everything in their power to stop the majority, we elected to lead. Face it you don't want Democrats to be in the majority when you take back 'our country'. Sorry, but the majority of Americans have spoken, you can't have your party back in power. And, if your party does not start really participating in governing our country, I hope they are replaced first!

If we had real investigative journalists, they would expose the real bull shit which has been going on. Rachel Maddow is the closest to 'real' journalism, which I have seen in many years! I agree with her 100%, hold them accountable. Call the spinners out and expose their spin for what it is. It's not working for the betterment of America, it's working for their party. Working for the next election. It's today, stop running for a while and participate.

I now live in the world left by 8 years of Republican 'decidership'. My deductible for health insurance is $4,000.00. When George W. took office, I had a $15.00 co-pay for doctor visits and $5.00 for prescriptions. Big changes happened during those 8 years and it's going to take big changes to make it right. $4,000.00 deductible is just wrong!

Try and insult me if you like, but I have supported change away from party rule for quite a while. I did not hide the fact that I thought it would take both parties to put America back together again. I wanted Gore/Hagel '08. I don't like the divide. But the crazy 'death panel' loons, deserve no seat at the table. Fear mongers working to incite the masses, is not good for America. Spinning shit is just that. The more you spin shit, the more it stinks. The spinners who are spinning shit, should not be the ones who people choose to follow.
