This is a horrible thing to see, but the truth is, Japan breaks national laws with no regard.

    • Different society and different culture, to the japanese this is completely normal and not inhumane but simply fishing.
Yet my instinct still tells me this is horribly wrong and horrific of an event, each dolphin deserves a more painless death if they are even to be fished. Dolphins are one of the few mammals smart enough to self-reflect and have IQ's similar to that of humans.
Luckily this video is indeed out dated and this practice isn't continuing, but we will never hear of this massacre as a genocide which is what it truly was.

    • I agree, but it is still cruel to see such beautiful animals.
For some reason we all love to criticize other cultures, even when we bad thing too. Yes, we eat a lot of beef, we hunt for "sport", and we still call others savages.

You made a very good point.

Your points are well taken, however, the way in which they are doing this is inhumane. They should kill them quickly and with no suffering if this must be done. I do not agree with the killing, but if it must be done, be humane about it.

    • Well it is very inhumane that they don't have a way of killing them faster... But Japan has lived off of everything in the ocean for their entire existence, its part of their culture and I don't know why they should stop eating a particular animal. What do you think people from India think about our beef industry?

    • Appalling, is the only way to describe this practice. Truly sad to see that there are people who can stand and watch another intelligent being die and suffer in such fashion.

How do you figure that? Because these multinational companies originated in the same country? Auto manufacturing has nothing to do with fishing practices.
That's pure racism. It's like saying not buying American will stop nuclear weapons.
