Today in Rome the greatest italian anti-racist demonstration up to now led 200,000 people to the streets, from Piazza della Repubblica to the stage in Piazza Bocca della Verità. A demonstration to say no to the Security decree that criminalizes immigrants, no to rejections of refugees, illegal under any rule of international law, not to the Centers for Identification and Expulsion where innocent people can be kept in jail for up to six months.

    • Jeeze, so tired of people inherently linking the rejection of refugees to racism. Personal opinion, I'm over the boat people que jumping to get into my country where good people are rejected for silly crap... and no peoples are worse in the Southern Hemisphere than Sri Lankans.

If I had it my way, unless they came from a country that actually practices genocide, they would be turned around and told to properly apply.

For any American that disagrees, open up your boarder to Mexican's and Haitians.

    • I spent six months studying abroad in Italy last year and the most disheartening thing about my experience was realizing the deep racist tendencies instilled in many Italians. Glad to see some sort of movement beginning. Btw, it's so appropriate that they decided to march from the "piazza of the republic" to the "mouth of truth piazza".
