Why does the staff at Current keep burying Swine Flu stories?

First case in point.

mario_a admitted that it was trending well, changed the title, and featured it. Less than 8 hours later it was pushed back to # 69. It is now on the tenth page at 182. And there isn't a single swine flu story on any page before it. It is now 3:27 in the morning on 10/19/2009.

The submission has 2807 views, with 114 comments. Highly debated and heavily viewed doesn't count to keep a story on the first few pages I suppose.

I would list more, but I can't find most of the ones I read, but didn't reply on. Come on Current staff members! These stories have serious merit, and shouldn't be buried so swifly, or so deeply!!!

    • It's because Obama and bigfoot have teamed up to get rid of the evidence that aliens are taking over the world one flu shot at a time.

      The story was featured, not really sure how you qualify that as burying, but then I don't stay up untill 3 am following ever post I submit, mainly because I have a life. Stories are ranked by readers, not by some invisible enemy who is bent on world domination. Posts that readers find to be full of b.s. will be voted down as is the caes here. Ms Jennings life was not ruined by the flu shot, that is sensationalism, pure and simple. The rare disorder she was diagnosed with, Guillain-Barre syndrome, is an autoimmune disorder (the body's immune system attacks itself). Exactly what triggers Guillain-Barre syndrome is unknown, but is usually associated with a minor infection of the lungs or gastro intestinal system.
      While I do feel sorry for this woman I will not let paranoia get in the way of rational science, which tells me that the vaccine is safe and the best way for me to avoid getting sick this flu season.
      As for Current having some sort of agenda, well that is laughable and not even worth debating.

      Please join and help a keep vigil on these very important stories. It does not matter if you believe the threat to be real, or just media hype.

      The fact that as much attention is being given to it in the mainstream press, and from the CDC, is proof that we need to all keep a watchful eye on every side of the story.
