Of course the White House has to "Select" who can attend. If they did not there would be entirely too many people. It is insane to think otherwise. And call it what you want but Fox is not news. They are not only opinionated but flat out liars. The problem with Fox is they do not even use the truth or facts in forming their opinions. They form opinions and then fabricate news and cut sound bites to "prove" their point. When it is all said and done they do not need to attend a meeting like this. They will simply fabricate their own reality as they have in the past anyways.

Since posting those comments, I have questioned my judgment. I can't actually figure out what you are. You claim to not be a Republican? Yet, you take every opportunity to comment like one?
Not pristine? Imagine my shock. And, I was trying soo hard to be perfect. Not! I am still pissed about MSM 'moving us along' in the lead up to the 'war of choice' with Iraq. No one has been held accountable, we just 'moved along', leaving judgment to historians. I don't blame Fox alone, the rest were all co-conspirators in taking us to war with a country, which had not killed one American and was not openly threatening us. I haven't been quite as lucky as some, in moving along. The past still matters to me.
Nothing President Obama does to unite our country, should circumvent justice. People should not get a pass, for unity, without justice. But hey, I'm just 'One Lonely Voice', trying to move along, since justice doesn't seem possible.

Just because the court doesn't bring about justice doesn't mean justice isn't possible. As in there are other ways (NON-Violent) to bring about justice. Socially they can bring justice. Someone can hold a "mock" trial and put it on youtube with answers brought to you by video archives of the Bush or whoever (preferably not Bush because he's been silent and not speaking up like some people) and then allow people of the United States to vote in a poll on guilt or not.
The problem is that whoever does this has to actually DO IT and not MOCK it. An actual TRY at presenting both sides and then allowing the Citizens to vote will show a viewpoint that is rarely heard. Someone has to actually want to present both sides without being so angry.
I do post things that are more in agreement with conservatives because liberals are so embittered and it's not even reasonable bitterness. It's gotten to the point that they are as funny as those that believe Obama isn't born in America....it's ridiculous.
I like fighting for the underdog because usually those against the underdog are bullies. So far that seems to be true. With the atheist anger on this site against Christians it's easy for me to defend them as well---and not because I agree with them, but because the atheist are being unreasonably angry and spiteful. That is not ok.
People want fairness but those that want it are being bullies and then they demand that everyone be reasonable when they can't even budge on what they think.
Obama promised to bring people together. It's almost been a year and he's done more to push people apart. Did you hear his speeches in NY when he was at those begging for money conventions? Talking about how much better democrats are than everyone else? If he were at a rally and talked like that about a single race what would people think then?
It doesn't matter who you are with and why...NEVER-EVER think you are better than anyone else. That does nobody any good.

Sadly, you do not understand the hypocrisy. The reason I mentioned Olbermann and Maddow in the headline is because they are opinionated talk show hosts. A day earlier Obama accused Fox as being opinionated and not "real news." Then he invites two opinionated talk show hosts he happens to agree with. Sad.

Funny comments.
How does the fact that more people attended the meeting change the fact that Obama met privately with them. And did I ever say ONLY met with Olbermann and Maddow, no.
Can anybody produce the minutes or video of the meeting?
Was the content of the meeting made public to us?
Was Fox news invited? No, because they would have made public the context of the meeting. You know, informed the public like NEWS media should do.
But no, Obama and Olbermann and Maddow and his other media cohorts will keep the discussion PRIVATE. Ironically, the opposite of what media should be, PUBLIC.
And if anyone can produce a story of Bush meeting privately with any Fox News journalists I'd love to see it.

You have to be naive or stupid to believe the nonsense they broadcast. Don't get me wrong, you have every right to watch whatever crap you want but this stuff ain't news and dismissed by those that know just like CNN or HLN.. commercial crap..On the other hand Olbermann and Maddow go out of their way to challenge the right, the left and the wrong. Olbermann is a little more in your face but he compels political discourse and understandably not for everybody. Rachel has a very keen whit and takes a softer approach, very congenial like Jon Stewart. Both Maddow & Stewart goes to great pains to engage. not offend.

Both Fox's Gretchen Carlson and Bret Baier mentioned on-air that Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow paid a visit to the White House this week for an off-the-record chat with the president.
But they weren't the only ones. TVNewser reports that they were other attendees beyond the MSNBC stars: Eugene Robinson, E.J. Dionne, Ron Brownstein, John Dickerson, Frank Rich, Jerry Seib, Maureen Dowd, Bob Herbert, Gloria Borger, and Gwen Ifill."
While Olbermann is a new addition, several of the people on this list -- Dionne, Robinson, Seib, Maddow, Dowd, Rich -- met with Obama shortly before inauguration. That morning meeting was the liberal/moderate version of the previous night's dinner with conservative columnists at George Will's house.

Did anyone think that maybe they shut down Fox News because the opinions they attempt to pass off as news are hateful and often in a violent context? The few that brought guns to a rally with the President were conservative tea baggers that were commended by Fox News. Real Americans? These americans have a potential to assassinate this President because of the statements they take literally from Fox News. Its very obvious that the listeners of Fox News are unstable since they bring guns to a rally and claim the President is trying to take away their right to bear arms when in fact he has created more legislation to protect that right. The White House should be able to shut them down if they think there is a possible assassination attempt from one of these right-wing crazies. Call this a conspiracy if you want, but Obama has gotten more hate mail than any president in history - and I bet some of those senders come from the Faux News "journalists" themselves. Less than 1% of the population watches ANY Fox broadcast, except O'Reilly who draws just over 1%. Does Fox have that much power? Of course not. Why are we talking about evil Fox news instead of Iraq, Afghanistan, health care, the economy? For the White House to go after Fox only boosts their ratings. It's like when Olbermann jokingly said he should send O'Reilly part of his paycheck because of the ratings increase Olbermann enjoyed during the Olbermann-O'Reilly feud. I don't consume Fox, I just think it is stupid 1) to pretend that any news/entertainment show is not biased and 2) for the White House to spend any time on this.

Maybe just the fact that Fox would lead you to believe that there was some kind of private meeting should just go to show you that they do not in fact report anything in an unbiased matter. Not even a biased against them. Fox is a Fucking joke. But... whatever... You just keep going to them for your "news"...

Then why is there no mention of it anywhere other than by you?
Seems kind of private.

Let me rephrase that for you:
They were the only ones there. Was their cameras or recorders in the room so that all America knows what they talked about?
Because if there was not---private is still right.
You're hate for a news agency that doesn't kiss Obama's Butt is cute.

So you didn't bother to research it huh? Well I am done talking to your lazy ass. If you did the research you would know that they were not "the only ones there" but you would rather troll for an argument. Childish POS... get a life.

Is it really that hard to answer if there were recording devices?
I'm going to assume no since you took great pains to throw a tantrum and storm off.
Private is factual, then.

J_Jammer... How many people have to be there before it's not private? 50? 1000? Everyone? If it's not recorded then its private? What? The fact is that it has been implied first by Fox and second by people on this site that Obama met privately with only Olbermann and Maddow. All I have said is that this was not the case. Your little play on words only cements that fact that you are being a childish troll. I don't say this lightly but You are an idiot!

I already stated what I said. that's why something is viewed as private or not. Sorry it makes you cry, but that's the way it is.
As for what was said here, I never agreed. I just reiterated what I always state about MSNBC...they're just a lap dog. Just like people stated about Fox and Bush.
Except Bush didn't meet privately with them.

dabne made a goof of a post and you politely recommended it?Connie makes good points against a barrage of nonsense from jj and then you take the time to shoot at 2 pretty decent reporters in response. I'm confused..
