As they say in Sarah's church:
We come against that python spirit. We come against that spirit of
witchcraft as the body of Christ. Right now in the name of Jesus!
Ooooh-raba-saka-ta-la. Come on, pray, pray! Raba-sandalalala-
bebebebekalabebe. Shanda-la-bebebeka-lelebebe. . . . That’s why
we come against all forms of witchcraft. All the python spirits that are released against the body of Christ . . . and bring this nation into the Kingdom....no seriously.

Bad headline. Inaccurate. She said she would be supporting people based on their ideology and not their party affiliation. It is something that many of us do, despite the barrage of criticism from the party true believers on both sides.

Its fun to bash her and I have done more than my fair share of that. . . but my respect for her just shot up about ten points. There should be more than 2 parties in the United States and the Republican party has been hijacked by Neo-Cons. Lets hope she changes her mind on continuing to spread our empire overseas and continues to push for smaller government.

Never been a Palin fan, but I for one commend her for doing this (and not out of a desire to see the GOP candidate go down, either). And considering how shabbily she's been treated by her own party, who can blame her?

This strategy is as old as dirt. First off, her allegiance isn't to a party... it's to herself. It's not the party that get's remembered for being in office, it's the individual (for the most part). This is just a way for a politician to create controversy and be talked about. That way when it's their turn to campaign for office, people who don't normally remember a senator's (or in this case a governor's) name will at least recall the one who everyone talked about. She doesn't want to be forgotten about. Expect more antics like this one and the book release. Whatever it takes to stay in the limelight.

If you look at her history, she has always been more of an independent.
My personal views on Palin is that while she may not be politically savvy, and she certainly comes off as a bimbo, she was seduced by the neocons to follow their war agenda.
She's at least savvy enough to recognize that the GOP is toast and to head back to her independent roots.

While everyone considers her a dumb hillbilly, I think she has some good ideas. They are against the mainstream of the GOP, so of course she is meeting opposition from both sides, after all, who really believes to hear something positive about someone with opposing views from the Democratic party. As for being a quitter, I still say that is crap. She has a vision obviously for America, and realizes that if she'd stayed in Alaska, she'd probably have lost what momentum she picked up on the McCain ticket. The only thing I hear from democrats is senseless name calling and mudslinging, as usual.

She should have quit. She doesn't have a vision for America. She has a vision for herself. She tried to dupe America into believing she is quaified to be President and some people inexplicably believed her. Sarah Palin is an ingnoramus, and while she's not the worst politician in the world, she would make a terrible President.

You know, you may have a point there. Let's examine that possibilty....
"We believe that the best of America is not all in Washington, D.C. ... We believe that the best of America is in these small towns that we get to visit, and in these wonderful little pockets of what I call the real America, being here with all of you hard working very patriotic, um, very, um, pro-America areas of this great nation." --Sarah Palin, speaking at a fundraiser in Greensoboro, N.C., Oct. 16, 2008
Nope.
Well maybe she has some wisdom to contribute with respect to the great legal issues of the age...
"Well, let's see. There's ― of course in the great history of America there have been rulings that there's never going to be absolute consensus by every American, and there are those issues, again, like Roe v. Wade, where I believe are best held on a state level and addressed there. So, you know, going through the history of America, there would be others but ―" --Sarah Palin, unable to name a Supreme Court decision she disagreed with other than Roe vs. Wade, interview with Katie Couric, CBS News, Oct. 1, 2008
Not so much.
Surely, her understanding of the role of those who govern the nation is worth a closer look..."[T]hey're in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom." --Sarah Palin, getting the vice president's constitutional role wrong after being asked by a third grader what the vice president does, interview with NBC affiliate KUSA in Colorado, Oct. 21, 2008
OK, but don't be mis-underestimating her.
Palin's snowbilly demeanor belies her profound grasp of the nuance of media journalism today..."All of 'em, any of 'em that have been in front of me over all these years." --Sarah Palin, unable to name a single newspaper or magazine she reads, interview with Katie Couric, CBS News, Oct. 1, 2008
Foreign Policy?
"As Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where– where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border." --Sarah Palin, explaining why Alaska's proximity to Russia gives her foreign policy experience, interview with CBS's Katie Couric, Sept. 24, 2008
Geography
"They are also building schools for the Afghan children so that there is hope and opportunity in our neighboring country of Afghanistan."
Never mind.

What ideas, exactly, are *not* mainstream GOP?
Palin is being whored out to the American people quite cleverly. She's being painted as an "underdog", but if you really pay attention to *anything* other than main-stream media, you know that this is just branding tactics. Palin is NO good for the GOP and CERTAINLY no good for the LP. If you really pay any attention, it become quite clear that she panders to libertarians only when they complain a lot about her on the internet. We're the fastest-growing political party in the country now, due to such massive loss of freedoms suffered under both parties. Of course she wants a piece. - 2 years ago
