Here Comes Obama

First, getting your article on US healthcare from a New Zealand newspaper is laughable, is that the only source you could find to back up your argument? Second, its not only about the percentage of profit margin when you're talking about an industry that accounts for a sizable portion of our entire economy. 6% is pretty big deal when you're talking hundreds of billions of dollars.

And where in the constitution does it say we are bound to run a purely "free market" economy? And if we did truly have this "free market" economy, then shouldn't the FCC and FDA and FAA be terminated? Airlines should regulate their own planes because, when it comes down to it, if they crash they lose money, right? C'mon, you can't honestly believe in an absolute "free market" with absolutely no regulation.

Government is what makes a free market fair and beneficial to the whole of society. This absolute "free market" you speak of is a fallacy.

Oh, and all the other industries that posted more than a 2-6% profit listed in that article are heavily regulated industries, including communications and railroad.

Why would the government put out a health care bill if they didn't want to "compete"? This is supposed to be a "free market" economy. If Obama is not capable of running this country within those guidelines (Bush wasn't either) he should find another country to run.

Do you assume I agreed with W? I agree that Iraq should have never happened. Anyhow. Yes government run health care DOES give the government more power. It gives them more say in your life and treatment. Perhaps you should do more research on how it effects everyone. You can also look at Massachusetts if you need to see how well government health care has worked out for them. Check out Canada as well (my wife is from Canada and still has family there). I am a free choice kinda guy. If a woman can choose to kill her baby why can't i choose what kind of health care I want. I know Obama told you that you will still be able to choose your plan but if you read the bill, it's set up to nudge you into a government plan.

get a life dude... whats so bad about healthcare for everyone? and exactly what does obama gain from this? its not like he's invading a country for no reason and risking the lives of our soldiers. he doesn't gain power from this, so whats your problem?
