Dennis Kucinich- The Democratic Leadership is Running Away From Victory

asherp
On MSNBC, The Ed Shultz Show (October 28) Congressman Kucinich stated: It's time to re-double our efforts to insist on a robust public option, that is the least we can do since the single-payer option has been taken out of the bill, leaving negotiated rates, a trigger - capitulating to insurance companies. Without a robust public option the poor will pay more, the government will pay more, ending up in a larger bailout to the insurance industry. Your contribution will empower our efforts to fight for the single-payer, not for profit health care bill, H.R. 676.

    • Kucinich is so right on so often. glad to hear him mention the failings of our 2 party system... thats really at the heart of so many issues. We need to open it our discussions up so we aren't just stuck with 2 reactionary ideas for every situation. the democrats have been so soft that either they are scared of power, or we really only have one party in this country now...

    • I listened to Dennis Kucinich today on The Ed Show. What he said, made sense. I can't understand how Democrats can act as though what he has to say is not credible? He says it like it is.

The Health Care Industry is paying lobbyists, out of premiums people are 'paying for their own health care'. They are buying politicians, using premiums people are 'paying for their own health care'. They aren't growing money on trees. They are using money paid to them for 'our own' health care. WTF They are free to squander our health care payments on politics, instead of us. WTF Have people gone mad?

This is acceptable? Pay my medical bills, not my representatives. We are already paying them with our tax dollars. We are already providing them health care. Enough is enough!

Dennis Kucinich makes sense. I agree 100%. Bail out for health care industry? Why? What have they done for us? Force poor people, who are having trouble feeding their families, to pay these companies, just in case they get sick, without protection for them? Who are our so-called representatives representing? It ain't us!

Stop moving along. Pay attention! It matters! This isn't just politics, this is our lives they are tampering with. There should be checks and balances, not just force us to give insurance companies our checks, with no oversight. That's just crazy!

    • Why, oh why, can't Mr. Kucinich be president???? This guy has balls of steel and isn't afraid of using his brain. Just goes to show how screwed up the system is when this guy never gets a chance.

Our only political party has two right wings, one called Republican, the other Democratic. But Henry Adams figured all that out back in the 1890s. 'We have a single system,' he wrote, and 'in that system the only question is the price at which the proletariat is to be bought and sold, the bread and circuses.'" : Gore Vidal - The Decline and Fall of the American Empire

    • Options that cater to private insurance companies have no business being called PUBLIC. What sellouts they are and yet, Democrats continue to defend their two facedness. I hope Dennis Kucinich runs again in 2012. I will vote for him in the primary and work to see him get to the General Election. It's time to kick the corporate kowtowing Republican appeasing pseudo Democrats out on their asses.
