    • Hmmm...Afghanistan has no strategic value to the US, so therefore we shouldn't be there.
Not that I advocate us staying there forever, but I have heard other reports and read other news sources (not Fox and not some right wing newscast) to the effect that many Aghanis are pretty happy they can now go to school, play music, etc...
As for Afghanis fighting for their tribe or their region, is that not what we do, to a certain extent?
The US has already torn down much of the Taliban oppression of the people. Should we now just say.."OK. We torn down a part of your country and now it's entirely up to you to clean it up?"
I congratulate the man for standing up to his belief and "putting his money where his mouth is"
I just don't think because a country has no "strategic value to the US" is a reason to pull out.
Darfur has no strategic value, Somalia has no strategic value, and the list goes on. Should we just allow people to be murdered in those countries because they have no "strategic value?"

    • Here's an honest assessment of the Afghanistan situation from a man who has been there working hard for our US State Department to solve the problems. As it turns out, our occupation of their country is THE PROBLEM.
